I tried a Pixel 7 and went back to the P30! The phone was the most soulless experience... (edited)

Now the Samsung A55 is almost out you should be able to get the A54 for not much more than this (grey import version is a bit cheaper) and will get updated up to Android 17 and security patches until 2028. (edited)
Xiaomi are now advertising a "48-month fluid experience" on some of their new phones; "to ensure minimal software aging and slowdowns, even after 48 months of use".
1. It's not a Huawei device, Huawei sold off the Honor brand in 2020
2. Honor have confirmed that the Honor 70 will receive Android 14 (it shipped with 12 and has since received 13)
Care to share a deal for an honor 90 at this price then?
Of course the honor 90 is a better phone, that's generally how it works.....each year a manufacturer will bring out a new model that's better and costs more than the old one .
For £235 you will struggle to find better quality and value than the Honor 70
As with the 90, a lot of compromises made to get to that performance, though, and for some it's definitely not worth it, I get that. Also, if you don't like the camera's contrasty/saturated defaults that really 'pop'/are 'Instagram-ready', that as several of the better reviewers have noted can make dark, rainy day scenes look like something from a slightly grim/stark gothic horror movie...(!) there doesn't appear to be a Gcam port/config file to even this out/improve dynamic range.
Or at least, I haven't come across one. If someone has, I would be very, very interested to hear, as I am seriously considering this, now, or the Honor 90 as a stopgap to something better a few years down the line. As updates are apparently an issue with Honor, I would perhaps go for the cheaper Honor 70 over the 90...
Anyway, another great find, at the price, from the venerable MrSwitch! Hats off. Hot!
- do take a look at this one, if you have a little time, typically helpful not-trying-to-sell-you-something review from affable Ben. No bad gloomy weather shots to highlight what I mention about the stark over-contrast, above, but, looks good in good lighting conditions, generally really good, at the price.
