Drunk again I expect!

All dodgy deals. Price too good to be true. With Aliexpress payment , you need to learn Chinese to talk with someone in China.

Aliexpress has its own delivery service which comes free but takes 2-3 months. So unless you pay extra you will not get it in reasonable time, plus you will be charged 20% uk tax. So the price you see on the top is misleading. Plus one of the items i left in my Aliexpress basket mysterically got bought by me the next day , without even pressing the 'buy', button. My bank called me for fraud in my Aliexpress linked account and blocked the transaction and cancelled the card and issued another. So I will definately stay away from Aliexpress.

Yes that's definitely the norm with regards to delivery, I don't know about the updates, but I'm sure some helpful member of the community can help, maybe @bitcoin5

A pre-order phone at RRP is not exactly a deal man.

Logically I can't see how it would help with low-light, but I'm not a optical engineer. Even if the 2MP was monochrome to let in more light, I'd have thought the resoIution of the image would be too ow to give data to combine to the colour sensor for that. I have only seen the depth of field/bokeh mentioned with these set-ups elsewhere.... Anyhoo, it's the Nokia 7 Plus for me for the ideal set-up (until a budget phone comes up with a stronger tele lens anyway) if it doesn't fall down on other areas.

It's OK Misterleoni, I was only pulling your leg. The N86 was awesome in its day but focusing took forever and it used to eat batteries. (There was a bug in the software that Nokia never fixed which meant the camera app wouldn't close down properly.)

You may be right, but the old sensor on the N86 might have worse dynamic range and the ISP in that old 400mhz processor won't really compete with modern inequivalents in terms of processing capabilities. The maximum aperture on the N86 was a lot narrower too, and I don't think the sensor was particularly large (VS the N8, which really did have a decent sized sensor). If the N86 takes better photos than a modern smartphone then it's pretty shameful for those modern smartphone manufacturers (unless we are talking about super-budget phones). The big downside to older phones - even ones as recent as the Lumia 1020 - is that while the optics and the sensors might be great, the shot to shot time and ability to cope with contrast and backlit subjects is so bad that you invariably end up with a bad shot half the time.

Hyundai ix35,

Seems to have gone up to £449 now @ JL

Unremarkable, but in a good way. It's not going to surprise anyone with insane durations of screen-on, but I'm a heavy user at the best of times and that's made worse for my phones when I have 2 month vacations from work like I'm on now, and I've never struggled to get through a day of sustained use.

Luck you man ..what is your car model and phone firmware version ?

Had mine 2 days now & happy so far. One "issue" that's worth knowing is when I hooked the phone up to my car bluetooth system it was registering for voice (phone calls only) but wouldn't play music. Quick google search later & I found a forum where the same problem was described and solution was just to reboot the phone after pairing. Tried this & it did indeed do the trick all good since then :-)

Got mine today and there's one stuck pixel in the middle, slightly to the right. Probably wouldn't notice in daily use on the sort of brightness level I use (approx 1/3). However, once you know it's there it bugs you. So giving one of the pixel fixer apps a go. Unlikely to work but worth a shot prior to any exchange. Dunno what JL's policy is on pixels but they are usually good on returns. That said I returned the previous phone I bought from them last year (G6), so they might not take kindly to a new request.

Didn't know front of phone was going to be shiny blue

That's not the point though is it. I'd rather know up front. Casting to a TV without WiFi does not work.

Most modern phones don't come with HDMI out. Some tablets do though. You can cast to TVs these days and that has replaced cables.

I guess we need 1 brave soul to order it & feedback to us

True but if you look at the breakdown of spec on gsmarena for example, the BEST spec is given as part of the header, but when you read the spec as a breakdown, it states 16GB comes with 2GB RAM and 32GB comes with 3GB of RAM. Currently I have my eye on the Honor View 10, on GSMArena it states 128GB and 6GB RAM. It actually comes as 64GB with 4GB or 6GB RAM or 128GB with 4GB or 6GB RAM

I can't see ebuyer sending out the 3gb/32gb version

Out of stock now

Interesting ... Interesting, we think very similar. I had mia1 two weeks ago, was really awful phone - android 1 - doesn't have auto brightness, one touch screen shot, etc sold it. Even tho lite 2017 is basic phone, but really fast phone, Huawei interface is really user friendly. Sharp aquos s2 looks really good spec, camera is cool.

The Aquos s2 looks great for the money, so tempted but only had my xiaomi mi a1 for two months i think the wife would kill me. I had the huawei p8 lite 2017 before great phone but the limited storage was driving me crazy.

Huawei seems to keep increasing the prices, they bring out so many handsets and keep putting the prices up. Xiaomi prices are good and very competitive. Anyway, I have ordered this SHARP AQUOS S2 4GB RAM 64GB SNAPDRAGON 630 NFC https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/sharp-aquos-s2-4gb-ram-64gb-snapdragon-630-nfc-white-smart-phone-13182-joybuy-2921207?page=4#comment-33595012 Nearly half price compared to this. But it's from China and requires flashing. Huawei makes solid handset tho, I am using p8 lite right now, purchased for £145 last year.

That's not a question. All devices what is officially sold in Europe have B20. Ordering from Asia has a risk that you get it without B20, because those countries don't use that network.

I read a couple of reviews saying this didn't have band 20. In case anyone cares, I bought this from CPW and have verified that it does connect to band 20. Thanks op, great deal!

Offer is no longer available but John Lewis still price matching at 339 with next day delivery.

This has got Project Treble, do should have better updates in the future. Plus, the XDA Developer community have lots of ROMs for the same reason. Because of Project Treble, they got a working ROM out in just days

Receive mine a couple of days ago, but today is the first day I've actually used it as I needed to wait for a NanoSD card to be delivered. First Impressions (coming from an LG G4) + Screen is really nice and big + Fingerprint reader is really quick and fast way to unlock phone (and wake it) + Super quick and smooth + Build quality seems good + Got a software update to (Android Security Mar 2018) - but only after I put in the new SIM card. + EMUI seems to be OK (I turned the app drawer back on) + Supports wi-fi calling on Three + EDIT... Battery life seems really good - Used it quite heavily yesterday, taken off the charger around 7am, and still had more than half the battery left at 11pm. Supports "Super Charge" - for quick charging (although only Huawei super-chargers, such as the one in the box will quick-charge it) - Its quite heavy compared to my last phone, not as comfortable to use one handed for too long. Overall really pleased with it so far!

I'm confused - i heard the 9 lite had the better camera of the two; Form techrader; The two devices are touted as camera centric-phones by the company, which means there's a lot to do with the cameras here. While both have a dual camera setup on the back, the Honor 9 Lite goes a notch ahead with a dual camera in the front as well. It is very difficult to find dissimilarities between the photos. In some cases the 7x did a better job, but the 9 Lite was superior in 80% of cases. The Honor 9 lite reproduces punchy colors, better dynamic range and handles light well. Both suffer in low-light, but the 9 Lite still does a better job in eliminating noise and capturing details. Moreover, the front camera on the Honor 9 Lite captures colours and details better than the 7X. Overall, both the cameras do almost the same job in day light (except for slight difference in colors), but moving towards artificial and low-light makes it pretty easy to judge that the 9 Lite is superior. You can compare the samples from both the phones in the gallery below. source

"Just quite large"... Hang on, I'm gonna look for a trolley to use as a phone case. XD

Shame these phones are over 150cm, I'm looking for a 16:9 screen but similar size to S8. I find anything over 150cm just quite large. Honor 9 Lite seems to be the closet match but I've heard the camera isn't as good as 7X.

Bizarre how that one went cold...

This or the redmi note 5?

Thought they embargoed huawei no?

Nice phone the wife's Nokia 5 was playing up, took it back to argos and they let me pay the difference for the honor 7x would definitely recommend it.

Many thanks for this. The Honor 9 Lite also has the advantage (for me) of being slightly smaller than the P Smart (though maybe the difference in size is negligible?). It's also available at John Lewis (who've generally given me good service), though I just saw it's currently out of stock there. I may go to a shop to look at some phones in person. Thanks again for your kind advice (y)

I would probably go for the Honor 9 Lite over the P Smart. It's a tenner cheaper and by all acounts it's the better phone. I actually ended buying the 9 Lite a couple of days ago and couldn't be happier with it. The camera is decidedly mid-range but other than that it's a great phone for the money.

Currently rocking a £59.99 saving. 6GB + 128GB • Android 8.0 • Dual (16MP + 20MP Main, 13MP Front) Camera

I have this phone (bought for £353.80) It is the best phone I've ever owned. 1. Camera is brilliant 2. Fingerprint sensor is just amazing, super duper fast 3. Gorgeous looking in the blue 4. Good for one handed use 5. Really very fast at loading apps 6. Battery lasts a day and a half with heavy use 7. Screen is brilliant, 'only' 1080p but I had an axon 7 and this screen is better (I have it adjusted to 720p and I can't tell the difference) 8. Super fast charging 9. Headphone jack (I wear the supplied earphones in a noisy environment and no interruption at all) Just a really good overall phone. Originally I wanted the mate 10 pro but I couldn't afford it, and so went for this, and so happy I did.

How good are your eyes that you can resolve individual pixels the width of a human hair at arms length? Fortunately I was blessed with the eyes of a human and not a hawk so 2 million pixels on a six inch screen is just fine for me. I’d rather have the extra battery life of a 1080 screen than the unnecessary increased resolution

I've seen both and there's no difference really. It's like the headphone jack argument, Bluetooth is just as good as wiredi think maybe I'm missing something I guess OLED are more vibrant. But it wasn't enough to make me think WOW! what a difference. I barely even noticed. Maybe I haven't seen it side to side, but I've owned both and there's not a massive amount of difference. If I need glasses for a display to be amazing, then it's not that an impressive display. I had the lg g6 that's got a hdr LCD and that wasn't that much different from what I'm on now IPS. Maybe you have more cornea or something

That's a damning verdict on OLED when you have to wear glasses to get the same effect as IPS. Maybe it's the crap pentile matrix that it uses.

You know ‘100% to 200% the price’ in the context of this deal means your saying the s8 and s9 are £200 and £400, right? If you’ve found them that cheap and share, then you’re officially The Deal King of the phone category around here ;) I agree with you that the Honor’s are a great all-rounder and would also recommend them,

Not the same version, so not exactly a fair comparison given the US one has less ram and storage.

Decent phone but not much of an upgrade on my old Honor 7 which has a very very similar processor, 1 GB less RAM and a smaller 5.2" screen yet has an IR blaster which I use a lot. The CPU in the Honor 7 is very poor for gaming too and the 659 in the 7x is like only ever so slightly better. The 7x would have been a good upgrade if the processor was a big upgrade and introduced USB type C with fast charge. Honor make some great hardware but the EMUI software and extremely rare updates really let it down. EMUI eats up a lot of RAM. This is why I'm looking at the Nokia 7 Plus as my next upgrade as opposed to this unless Motorola has something similar up their sleeves but it's not looking likely. OnePlus also is getting pricier with each release. Another thing about Nokia is that, given their recent history, their prices drop pretty quickly so you'll eventually be able to pick it up for a bargain.
