sorted byThe stars aligned. No you-can-have-any-motherboard-as-long-as-it's-from ASUS motherboard! No mediocre Gigabyte power supply that I'd really, really rather not have/would end up selling/replacing with an EVGA model as quickly as possible. Even the graphics card is my favourite brand.
Still not convinced I'm not dreaming or in a coma but - have heat! A lot of heat.
The memory I'd certainly upgrade. As there isn't a CL36 2x8GB kit listed, I'd swallow hard and go for the 2x16 6000Mhz CL36 kit. 32GB seems a sensible amount, these days. In that the upgrade to the 7600X is only £9.99, I'd go for that, why not! though if I could somehow find the money, I'd go for the 7800X 3D, for that pretty substantial and lasting upgrade. Good to have the option to upgrade to much faster storage, of course. That would be one very, very tasty PC that those in the know would tip their hat to. Envy stations!
Anyway, really nice find, not often I'm impressed but, beyond that I haven't checked out reviews for that particular MSI motherboard... yes, impressed, here. Are AWD-IT actually listening to their critics?! Palicomp, are you listening to, I need to check! Nice.
Great find. As ever. But really great find! Gonna watch this one go really HOT.
Do you mind talking a little bit more about what you would replace? I don't recognise that PSU brand and not sure where the technology is heading. Also shouldn't all storage be M2 cards nowadays since they're much cheaper?
I'm really going for value for pounds so don't mind paying a little more if it's still good value

- All you need to do is some keyword searchs.
But if your new then u wouldnt understand where about it ties in.
- The Gre sits between AMD 7800XT <--- Here--> 7900XT
So what would be best is than invest time and fact find on how much over the 7800XT it offers and how much it doesnt against a 7900XT.
Youtube: 7800XT VS 7900 Gre | 7900xt vs Gre
-once u have that data information, then u can use that information for prebuilt deals or self build part deal on raw cost of these items.
Perhaps sometimes there might be established. full review "gre" videos (which are on the post btw) so typing 7900 Gre into youtube; u hope videos show how it is against Nvidia near products.
Obvious nvidia has its own benefits, so another key would they be suited for u, when u do the compares, certain titles might benefit nvidia or some AMD.
As for VR, again, adding the keyword into the search term compare would be good.
sometimes with a new product there isnt that many reviews in the comparrsion u want, for example.
if u google: 7800XT VS 4070 "VR" There is estblished resources on plenty of information regarding that as u wont be the 1st person to ask and many professional websites have covered it, so u can go though the pro and cons.
however u want to know 7900GRE VS 4070 VR, well thats where u usual ur own initial thinking, uve seen the 7800XT VS GRE videos i mention, so u have to judge what uve seen and picture that into the stats on 4070 vs 7800XT, u wont be right but u wont be far wrong, but the cross ref will put u in the right path. / I would also invest in the MSI B650 -S at £65
Motherboard wifi is worth atleast £25 vs normal wifi card quality.
so that in a "virtual" (mindfull) stripdown is a remaining £40 we have moved from an MATX to ATX, We increased are VMs too, and whatever this says: versus.com/en/…m-p (edited)
=£1250.00
Which has a PCPP of this: uk.pcpartpicker.com/lis…hJy (alt cooler, but near enough).
for a Gre that superb, i dont expect many of these to be knocking around, lets put it that way.
I have Meta Quest 3, and am mostly happy with it.
Id like the PC to be able to play Skyrim and GTA5 (with the VR and enhanced graphics mods), Dirt Rally 2, Assetto Corsa, maybe a bit of MS Flight Sim.
Half Life: Alyx and Beat Saber (again with mods and customs).
They don't have to be 4k, as the Quest 3 is only about 1280 per eye.
Be nice to play high detail (not ultra), smooth and no stuttering.
I understand Flight Sim maybe need to be reduced in quality, but the others? (edited)
I play project cars 2, which I think is more cpu limited than gpu, and q can quite happily run with everything cranked up on my 5600.
I think you'll be fine. Apart from no man's sky. I can drop to near single digit frames even on low just cos it's so badly optimised for VR
As for the RAM upgrade prices they're a bit cheeky as you can buy that sort of RAM for those prices so you'd be better off buying your own upgrade and selling the stuff it comes with (if you're comfortable doing that)
And the 7600x for £9.99 more is probably worth it IMO (edited)
- Where can u buy 32GB DDR5 for +50? im a bit lost with this statement tbh
Wondering whether to go for the 7700X or stick with the 7600X. Will be playing on 1440p and would like to move to 120fps.
Question - what are the implications of a PCIe 5.0 motherboard is now? Is it worth going for the newer M2 drives now? Are they more inline with the PS5 and Xbox Series X storage?
This is what my adjustments are looking like -
SN770 Primary storage.
CPU 7700X
Corsaid Vengence 32 GB 6000Mhz C36
Total = £1,339.96
Not sure about the SN770 being good value here - from my calculations it's coming up at £58 which seems a £10 higher than deals posted for it here. Is the SN580 pretty much the same for gaming? only a few pounds cheaper though.
(edited)
- however it still is beatable via higher GPU base on the scailing, but does give more "future proof", but thats a hard swallow, buy today and change tomorrow is never not the wrong answer when u play ur cards right.
and obvious the core basis on either over the R5 will help Devs too, so if u are working with more then just gaming, this will help.
Check this reviews; techspot.com/rev…pu/
78003XD is one of the most desire CPU's for new folks, however it is also (im going to be hated for this)
Rather a poor rubbish release too............... (ouch, pitch forks)
what the 5800X3D did over the previous release was superb, what the 7800x3d did over its older am5 CPUs wasnt that good for CPU jumpers from an upgrade point, obvious new buys will look at it different.
Even AMD themselfs had to ofset the marketing trick,
3700X -> 5700X - rememeber the low TDP CPU? -> 7700
3800X -> 5800X - The higher TDP 8Core -> 7700X
chap covers it well:
As for your Storage; The price on the SN580 is a little over in the calc ur right, but is prob the most fairest, offering excellent speed, realibility, performance. the S70 is greater on the read/write and is the next allrounder higher.
as Gen5 my recomendation buy this laters, its £150 more ish, id put that to something else or save, Gen5 storage over time will come down, atm were in a crazy nvme area of market, (not for the 1st time, neither the last) the market will change, (edited)
"Yeah, £1,200 should be good for 1440p"
- happy to find folks deals in all corners, going though FPS. I cant be bothered lol
7800XT vs 4070 = at palicomp
AWD 7900 Gre vs 4070 super Palicomp
these two Are still two of the most dominating Systems with its various of configs.

AWD GRE starts at £1150, so adding £30 nvme is 1180, add a £25 wifi card is £1205 this is battling palicomp 4070Super at £1230
as for 7800XT both in the same ball park. pali does have the cheaper B650 asus, which is same cost as msi matx, and if u want both firms with the better of the two boards, for £65 at awd is B650 MSI -S vs X670E at palicomp for £80 over its B650 option atx which are both inclusive.
as for the Ti, this is a higher graded card, keeping it in the 1230 fight figs, then means a drop to A620 board or pay more.
Palicomp certain has the edge in repect of 4070 /7800XT 4070Ti against awd.
but this awd sweetens the deal against palicomp super ;-) (edited)
