Better off getting the Tapo C220 £29.99 if you're a pet person as it has AI pet detection which the C210 doesn't and higher resolution 2K QHD 4MP vs 2K 3MP.

    Do you mean this one?
and if so do you know if i placed it on ceiling looking down at cat bowls the AI would detect cats from above. Ta

What app does it use to stream to your phone? So far I have 2 cameras with two different apps 🙈 (edited)

The TAPO app which is actually quite good. A lot better than some of the rubbish camera apps.

I have the 1080 version, currently linked to my NVR for 24/7 recording.

Can someone please explain how to connect these to an existing Yale NVR as I have 6 of these in my house?

is it possible to send a video to a local server/storage?

It's ONVIF compliant, so can stream to other applications.

I must be one of the unlucky ones as recently purchased tapo c220 (next one up from the c210 that’s posted) camera. It has great picture but I’m having lots of issues with sound quality and loading/viewing via iPhone, that’s making it useless as a safety/security camera for elderly relatives. Tapo trouble shooting tips don’t help.

I’m curious if other owners have had these issues and resolved them? (edited)

    Yep, initially had connection issues.
Updated the firmware and still issues.
Eventually we replaced the router and no issues since.
This was a TPlink router as well. Works fine with an ASUS router.
The C210's had no issue with the previous router. Almost sent the C220 back. However I do know they are trying to resolve some issues with firmware updates.
Firmware v1.16 seems to be working fine with the new router so far.

They have some beta 1.18 firmware that seems to have resolved a lot of issues for many, but you need to request it.

In the meantime I suggest you download ONVIER if it's available for iPhone as it can do pretty much everything the TAPO app can do
If not an equivalent ONVIF compatible app. (edited)

I bought this recently from Argos as a puppy camera. Surprisingly good.

Can anyone confirm if this will display continuously on an Alexa device, or does it time-out after a short time? We currently use a Ring camera as a baby monitor, but it automatically ends the stream after approx. 10 mins 🫤

Thankfully we still get movement/noise alerts, but it'd be good to also have the camera active the whole time
    ashyt16turbo's avatar
We use 6 of these cameras for our security system at work and they are streaming 24/7 to Blue Iris.

Timing out will be app related. (edited)

Do u have to pay a subscription for this? E.g Blink charges per camera to have live access and for recording to be kept
    PizzaCake's avatar
Nope you can use a micro SD card for local recording or pay a subscription for cloud recording - it's up to you.

Anyone know if I can move this about houses? I'm a cat sitter and wouldn't mind leaving this at houses when I'm not there during the day time. (edited)
    ashyt16turbo's avatar
You have to connect it to the relevant WiFi. It doesn't care where it is.

If a had these in different properties can I still see all my cameras in the app at the same time?
    ashyt16turbo's avatar
Yes. The camera doesn't care where it is.

Will it survive installed under the eaves?
    ashyt16turbo's avatar
Unlikely. It's indoor only. Moisture will get in.

These any good for picking up the local wildlife on my patio? Just wanted something so we know when the local hedgehog, fox turn up, would just put it in the window
