Good knives for the price but be aware these are 100% NOT German Stainless steel. They are made of a Chinesium equivalent to Kruup 4116 steel and the online consensus is they are HRC 53 (really quite soft). Zwilling Henckels International are all Chinese or Spanish made and are entry level knives.

True Solingen steel will cost 3-4 times the price of this and be marketed under the Zwilling brand. At that price you get into a totally different market with Global and Wusthof both being in the picture. Good deal, just be aware of what you are buying, knives strictly for occasional home use that you will be sharpening pretty often (ignoring the gimmicky self sharpening wheel) (edited)

I paid £110 for a Zwilling set, so not really 3-4 times this price. But the 'chef' range can indeed be expensive.

Loads of debate on previous threads about these. I bought at around the same price on a previous deal and they are excellent knifes, much better than the likes of pro cook etc.

I’d go for these over the ninja as can’t imagine ninja will be better at the price point.

Hmmm these or the Ninja Foodi set? :/

Depends if you're Zwilling to pay the extra dosh

Almost certainly Chinese too, very opaque. Being Chinese is not necessarily terrible but i really do not like companies that intentionally muddy the waters to confuse the consumer. Personally I would pick up a couple of Wusthof Classic knives (chefs / paring) for about £150 and build on them as a collection - these are knives that will genuinely last a lifetime. May be helpful (I made an older comment, with screenshots, listing forged / stamped / country of manufacture, but as HUKD doesn't search back that far now I can't find it)

Won't pulling the knives out to use put lots of iron filing bits all over them? I would never sharpen a knife and then crack on and use it without giving it a clean/wipe down.

These aren't soligen steel are they?

    Nope

Nice! Been waiting for these to go on sale for ages.

Bought my son this make as they make great knives for a reasonable price. You’d have to pay big bucks to get better knives. The only thing I’d say is pay a little for their higher range knives which are fully machined all in one stainless steel knife and handle

Have these knives. Excellent knives but get a seperate sharpener, the block is just about ok, to not keep them butter knives.
