    do these have optical in?

Unfortunately not, just balanced 1/4 " TRS inputs and RCA inputs. They're more intended as studio monitors for music production so sound very neutral., though very high quality for the money. They can pull double-duty as there's a music mode toggle to give more of a v-curve to the sound/EQ. If you want optical in you might be better off with the Edifier R1280DBs.

Does anybody know what the standby power for these speakers are? The only thing putting me off is the no auto-standby feature when idle.

I hate that "feature", its an EU thing, totally ruins speakers for me.

Which would be better quality audio for a turntable with pre-amp - these or the ones linked below? currys.co.uk/pro…tml

I've been using the JVCs for the last 4 years, but have always wondered if they've been restrictive with their output...I only got them as they were on offer at the time and fitted between the shelves on my bookcase, but they've not been bad. I don't use the Bluetooth side of them so that wouldn't be missed.

B&W Nautilus should be a nice upgrade.

I've been very impressed with my Edifier 1280Ts, they're not quite as good as my JBL LSR305s but for the money they are excellent.

Just to say I find Edifier really good value. I own RDB2000 & D12 and they sound great.

Not familiar with speakers - what kind of gain can these handle? Looking to push through a DAW with electric guitar.
