    As an FYI

    Type 1 is 250/500 lumens
    Type 2is 500/1,000 lumens.

If you already have one the number is on the side.

These used to £30 but most on eBay are above £40 now (edited)

Good spot - I have the type 2 and it is so useful. I was tempted with another at that price, but I'll pass on a type 1. Although surprised that there are still type 1's still knocking about

For people who buy this, like you can see in the last photo the metal loop at the top pulls all the way out to become a hook. I had mine over a year before finding this out

Although the description says 'Bare Unit' the photo shows it with a battery. Be aware there is no battery with this.

these are 1000 lumens , amazon is using old description for type 1 .
& dont forget to register it for 3 year warranty (edited)

How can you tell these aren’t type 1?

I bought this for £33 in December, great light. Although I feel like the flexi head spring is a little weak, could be stronger, when I walk with the head flops over, still would recommend it though.

I have one of these. It is great quality and very very useful around the garage or doing DIY. Highly recommended

    Great torches!!
Against the populous I prefer the type 1 as the battery lasts twice as long. Plenty bright enough even in the darkest corners for me. (edited)

Better to burn bright than fade away 🥹

One of my most used DeWalt 18v tools - I didn't think it would be when I bought it a couple of years ago but comes in handy quite a lot.

Definitely the type 2, I bought one last time they were on offer from Amazon, it's just an old description. Well worth buying especially if you already have the batteries

Mines type 2, but as with all type 2,it seems to have more weight

    Mine arrived and it's a type 2

I love mine. Use it a lot when working in understairs cupboards etc. The only downside is that the hinge is a bit looser than I'd like.

Received mine today from Amazon. Clearly states Type 2 on the box and on the device. The heatsink for the LEDs is visible through the vents in the plastic body. The heatsink looks quite substantial and probably accounts for the extra weight others have mentioned. Feels stable enough with a 2Ah battery attached.

Also received mine today, which was also the type 2, 1000 lumens

For anyone who also has maki batteries, I'd recommend going for the maki light over this one. It's better because it's dual axis and the leds seem to cover a wider scope/angle of whatever you are intending to light. It also goes for the same price as the one. (edited)
