About this deal

Sonos Roam SL at a third off isn’t bad. To get a Sonos speak new for a little over £100 is a great entry to the ecosystem. This model doesn’t have a voice control, for that go for the non SL model which is also on offer.

Bought mine and returned the very same hour.
Tiny sound and lack of bass, not worth the money. Get - Soundcore MotionBoom for loads less with superb bass and sound quality.

Agree that they lack bass. Actually sounds quite cheap. No experience of that Anker, I recommend Earfun Uboom L although requires putting on an older firmware version

I got one for a similar price last year. Highly recommend. The sound is great. It needs running in but I've never had a speaker this size with so much bass. It's both a WiFi and Bluetooth speaker. WiFi is better sound quality. The app let's you add your favourite Radio stations and access to a Spotify and Tidal. The normal Roam has a microphone for Alexa, the SL doesn't. Build quality is excellent. Mine has taken a few knocks but still looks brand new. There's a Roam 2 coming in June so grab this while it's on offer.

These any better than JBL charge 3 or 5, I'm guessing not due to size?

It depends what you are aiming for… if you want volume than go for JBL, if you want sound quality and Sonos ecosystem then this is a no brainer

Great speaker, love mine! Waterproof so I use it as a bathroom speaker.

Good price for both the SL and voice versions. FYI it’s rumoured that a new version of the Roam is coming in the next few months. Given how rarely this kind of discount comes along that does seem to back that rumour up.

I think it's due as soon as next month. The new Sonos app launches May 7th which is rumoured to help work with upcoming Bluetooth devices, so you don't have to rely on WiFi for settings control.

Great job getting your find to past the 350 heat mark in the past day or so , not only have you taken your first steps by contributing your find as your first deal, your find looks to have helped a fair few members save some hard earned money !

Spend stupid useless money to have it all at home... now spend to take it with me...

Can these be paired for stereo sound? If so are they any good for it?
    MrsPickleJuice's avatar
Yeah i got an SL to go with my none SL roam because i needed more oomph and it was perfect for my small bathroom.

I have a standard Roam (with voice) and it's hands down the least reliable Sonos product I own and the only one I've ever had to return under warranty.
    MrsPickleJuice's avatar
how so? I have the same one, got mine on release and it works fantastic. The power saving update really helped battery life. I use mine in the bathroom on Wifi and I use the SL one with Bluetooth and both work perfectly.

These have a common issue where they don’t turn on. Google Sonos roam turn on and you will see how many people with same issue.

Good price for it but I didn’t love mine and sold it on. It was temperamental and didn’t sound that great for the money. I like my Sonos One’s sound but these sound like tiny speakers even if the sound is clear.
    habylab's avatar
Well it is over 3x smaller so that makes sense.

Bought this one last year, no regrets. For a very small.speaker, you can't expect solid bass but it's good enough to be a decent level and the sound quality overall very good. Bluetooth or used through Sonos app when away from home are fine. I use mine in shower, garden or when travelling. Would buy another! I also have other songs speakers and sub, so yes, I am in the ecosystem but this can act independently through Bluetooth.

I'm assuming the price drop is due to the roam V2 coming very soon?
    habylab's avatar
Yes. Due next month I think.

Thanks, got the non-SL version for £119, good deal :-)

JBL flip 5 is what I use and can’t comment on any of the Sonos speakers as I only have a Sonos beam but the JBL flip 5 is perfect for me and it was somewhere around £60 when I bought it. No complaints and it’s waterproof! My friends are always happy when I bring it a long to parties or outdoor events etc.

My personal view, when compared to other Bluetooth speakers on its own it’s beaten by other models easily. When taken in the context of multi room as part of a wider Sonos system it makes more sense. I have a roam SL and standard roam
