anyone know if one can take this offer if already with O2 but out of contract?

    Yes. U can.

I took this deal a few months ago, so looking to refresh it to get Disney+ free again. However there's a couple of concerning things.

    1) it says the free Disney is the standard version, not premium like last time

    2) it says I will lose my supercharge volt boosts (double data and travel benefits)

Same for others? Or is this just not true once you confirm?

I would be worse off with less data than I have now.
  3. Patti_Boy's avatar
I have tried all the rest but O2 suit me, signal most places. 20% off for additional SIM so £8 and data abroad.
    jenny_f's avatar
Thought additional sim discount was on phone contracts not sim only?

Why is this deal not hotter! Thanks OP...It's the best 02 deal in ages. I've just upgraded. Couple of things...the TCB for me showed as £9.35..Quidco was £12, so I went through them. Also, O2 at first said that they were charging me £27 for an in contract upgrade, however when I went to the next page, they'd wiped that off, strange but all good in the end. Thanks again!

    Thank you.
Cashback rate is for Premium members.

O2 does that, says upgrade fee and when you proceed to next step, it just reduces to zero.

Poor service hardly works anywhere wouldn’t even touch O2 anymore

It depends on where you live. For me the roaming partners they use in the EU have been excellent

What we need is EE sim only deals
    landros1's avatar
I have no EE signal where I live!

tbh after awhile they might as well just say unlimited, upgraded me and my kids to 64Gb Volt for £8 each a few weeks ago, it was previously 10Gb and neither of us ever went over it.

about to dump virgin so it will go down to 32gb but still 3x what we had before on volt!
    Dangles's avatar
If you’re dumping Virgin you might not lose your double data boosts. Apparently O2 are unable to tell who has left Virgin. I left them almost 6 months ago and my O2 data boosts are still in place.

Unless you know a specific area that works fine forget it. Cells overloaded and timing out of web pages. 5g in most areas at 4mbps, with one or two at 100mbps.....leaving them soon as had on work iPhone and own latest Android as no longer Virgin Media customer and had it for Volt upgrade. Can't wait to exit in days.....
    taffy1719's avatar
I’m in the same boat. Who did you move to from Virgin Media for TV, Broadband and Landline?
  9. okm's avatar
Pretty good deal that’s if you live in an area they have decent coverage. Where I live you wouldn’t be able to use data as it’s pants most of the time. Starts well in mornings then goes south to dial up version in old terms. Most of apps will time out or one will loose his wits waiting for data to load.
  10. mb1's avatar
You will certainly get a signal most places. Whether it's a usable data speed, that's debatable. Mine has become so bad that Waze now says 'offline'. Can't wait to leave.
  11. smiler2205's avatar
Good luck if you can get a reception on O2 where you live. I am in Central Scotland, and can't get any reception, calls and data (when out of the house away from wi-fi) and when I do it is is nearly always 3G, 4G for a bit at best. Best email I got this week is the chance to cancel my airtime contract with them due them changing their "Switch Up" T&Cs. Just looking now for a great sim-only deal with someone else now.
    Animal5865's avatar
Advice is try physical SIM don't take any notice of what they claim to provide as they lie. (edited)
  12. J400uk's avatar
Is there a way to avoid paying the early upgrade fee to move to this tariff if you’re already in contract with O2? I’m getting a message saying I’ll need to pay off my current deal to switch to this
    roadrunner1's avatar
    Yeah. Ignore it and proceed.
  13. CanyoufeeltheHEAT's avatar
Does this require a credit check unlike Lebara?
    sadman120's avatar
    Yep credit check
  14. Martie99's avatar
O2 worst company I have ever had to deal with when things go wrong - buyer beware
    adamnsu's avatar
Aren’t they all??? But I intend on leaving o2 because of their crap priority programme which used to be great, these days it is difficult to get a free poor quality Greggs coffee. Will see which is the cheapest based on 50-60 gb internet
  15. iGlad's avatar
I am writing this from Germany with my free o2 roaming using 5G. I can use up to 25GB data. Worry free travelling.
    StaceyQ's avatar
O2 works great when roaming as you're not actually using the O2-UK network.

My retired parents got great mobile data in Spain and the Netherlands but had to use Wi-Fi in the local Costa when I met them last weekend as their mobile data is unusable.
  16. Carl_JonesJQw's avatar
Wouldn't recommend O2, signal is awful!
    Moo117's avatar
I always get terrible signal and really slow 5G, I wonder if they’re just hugely oversubscribed
  17. taffy1719's avatar
Decent offer but O2 is probably the worst provider in the UK. Had a nightmare over the past 18 months with them. Glad to see the back of them.
    -LG's avatar
Yeah exactly, they're on my list to never use again. Almost a full year with 95% no data.
  18. BaDaR's avatar
Thanks OP. just upgraded to this tariff. Previously was paying £12 and since April it was £13 for 100gb with volt. Now £10 and same 100GB. Cheers

"There’s a change to your benefits
Sorry, as you're no longer eligible for supercharge benefits your new plan won't include Volt boosts like double data and travel benefits."

Switched from EE wanted to make a saving on monthly bill and damn made a big mistake the network is just the worst on O2, I have made some complaints hopefully I can get out my contract due to intermittent service.
    unisoftenterprises's avatar
Try 1pmobile. EE WiFi calling, hd voice, full frequencies. No contract. 25gbbfor £10 and bolt on data as you want if you need more. Uses EE IMS so works properly with one time texts.
  20. Tw34's avatar
I have the £8 deal form January but it’s terrible the 5g no matter where I go in the UK is a lot slower than my 4G spoken to O2 and they eventually said they limit the speed on some packages, so if you plan on moving for faster speeds I would say dig a little deeper
  21. tonymx's avatar
The generous EU roaming allowance is the main reason I still have family members on o2. I can imagine they would loose a chunk of business by ever removing this
    Swidc's avatar
    100%, same
  22. rickla's avatar
Just about only network that includes Switzerland within free roaming as well.
    Neil49's avatar
    And the Channel Islands
  23. NorrinRadd's avatar
    No topcashback tracking for me
  24. Darron1985's avatar
I am with 02 (volt) currently but on a rolling monthly deal. if I was to take this deal would I be able to keep my mobile number? I wasn't sure if you can port to the same provider. thank you
    okm's avatar
Yes, you need to mark the box keep my number. Then you may need to reapply for volt and multi save if you have secondary sims
  25. zsasz24's avatar
Just upgraded last week through uswitch for the 40GB deal!

Should I cancel and reapply? Or any idea if O2 customer services will make an adjustment for 50GB?

    Thanks (edited)
    naveid's avatar
    Exactly i did the same.
Now im trying to upgrade to this, and its not letting me go through.
Rang O2, but they couldn't do anything.
  26. dealtime999's avatar
Thanks OP, helpful post for me.
Keeps failing though with an error when added to basket on mobile or desktop - anyone else experiencing this?
    BobsterG's avatar
Yes I am! Tried on phone and laptop and it still keeps getting an error.
  27. rickydean29's avatar
Just done this was paying 24 a month with 10gb. I was already on O2. No new sim or anything needed.
    dickybow's avatar
how do you change but keep your number ?
  28. sunnyt41's avatar
EU roaming included makes this a really easy when going on holidays, works with no issues.
  29. naveid's avatar
52688535-d0dQ2.jpgSame issue every time. Why O2?
    dealtime999's avatar
I got mine to work by not selecting the extra when doing the upgrade - just select it once the contract has been set up.
  30. landros1's avatar
It says I am no longer entitled to VOLT so I actually only get 50 gb instead of the 80 GB and I would pay more than I am paying now and the price still goes up more next April!
    It has many potential pitfalls!

Was paying £10 for 40gb. Easy upgrade to 50gb for the same money.
    landros1's avatar
I am paying £8 for 40 gb (80 with volt).

    Thanks

Went for the £18 250GB one (edited)
  33. jon.megufti's avatar
Shame it's O2. They'd have to pay me to use their network.
  34. Brad1806's avatar
It's better than rip off EE....!!!!
  35. clait's avatar
Seems like TCB is no longer offering cashback for uswitch but this offer is also available on money supermarket for the same CB amount.
  36. Brad1806's avatar
Got the 150gb plus EU roaming in 75 countries was £19.99 got it for £15.99 a month 24 month contract good price.
  37. Ragtag's avatar
Just upgraded to this £10 deal. ( With 3 months Amazon prime). My old sim only deal was only £13 odd, but it's still a saving. Easy and quick.
Just one thing... Do you automatically go to prime, or do you need a code for Amazon & the telly?
    devdas73's avatar
Do you also have virgin broadband etc if so did they let you keep those discounts please
  38. devdas73's avatar
Will they still give you benefit of being with virgin cos it is good discount on virgin broadband if your with 02
    manicmidlander's avatar
    Yes, should do.
  39. Mickiekokid's avatar
Seriously look at o2 reviews before going with them. I got swim swap attacked, o2 security is so bad and their support is even worst. I lost £1500 so be warned.
    SR4's avatar
Please explain what's a swim swap attack?
