About this deal

In this tongue-in-cheek, futuristic thriller violent cop John and psychopath Simon were cryogenically frozen in 1996. Fast forward to 2032 to a bland utopia - there a benign dictator frees Simon to murder a rebel leader. Simon goes on a murder spree, so John is defrosted to hunt down his old adversary.

This is actually a good film, it was never an Oscar contender but a great blockbuster film, better than much of the recent Marvel garbage. One sad thing is that’s it’s quite believable that if WW3 doesn’t destroy humanity first, we are heading for bland ‘woke’ utopia similar to that depicted in the film

This is so true. If we aren't living in the nuclear holocaust predicted by Terminator, we will be living in the hell that is the mix of this film and Idiocracy.

Simon Phoenix is one of Snipes best roles.... second to Blade

I miss 90s (and 80s) films like these, where they weren't trying to be anything other than fun entertainment. First was the "gritty" films trying to replicate Tarantini et al (some were good), and then super hero movies (early ones were good), followed by woke crud (none are good). When the odd film comes out that's just silly entertainment (like Top Gun 2 etc) I vote them up.

What is a 'woke crud' film though?
In the action genre I mean. The rest I can picture, I can think of examples of super hero films and Tarrantino type films.
I can't think of any action films that could also be labeled as 'woke'.

I haven't seen this film in years...

...and that's not going to change.

You'd have a point if there weren't endless fast n furious films, expendables, deadpools etc etc The irony is that in demolition man the good guys are a brave band of antifa who rebel against the right wing corporate elites that rule the world
