It’s good this doesn’t have price rises. To make everyone aware, Vodafone will consider this deal to be something like £27/month with a £11 discount. This means that when you finish your contract, or there is a CPI increase, it is based on the £27 amount, meaning effectively you pay a lot more than 7.9%. It’s a really bad practice and Vodafone apply this policy to all their plans - I have a £13/month deal through Mobiles.co.uk which is actually £24. The recent price increase in terms of what I paid versus how much I now pay has been more than 7.9% and I dread to think the real terms increase for some customers when the rate was above 10% last year! In the future this will matter less as some providers such as EE now apply a £1.50 increase each April regardless of your plan - if Vodafone does the same following the new Ofcom rules then it wouldn’t matter if there is a hidden higher cost. Also, the higher hidden monthly cost affects how they calculate your exit fee, which again EE base on what you pay rather than a hidden higher monthly cost which is discounted. Vodafone take the £27 amount to calculate leaving early.

The next increases will be in April 2025 so with this deal you will be able to upgrade your SIM to a new deal after the announcement but before they come into effect and not be affected by the increase. (edited)

Is Vodafone still charging roaming fees xx

    Yes

I have this from last years deal, which ends next month. Can i renew on this again? Cashback cheque is fine if you have online banking, simply photo/scan the cheque with your phone
    bozo007's avatar
This is new customers only. Switch to another provider for a day, then come back as a new customer.

I won't go back to Vodafone until their added roaming charges are removed. Lebara is a better deal for me.Great price otherwise op.
    fossman's avatar
I just get a one month Lebara sim if I'm travelling within the EU and use an esim if travelling outside the EU.

It's meant to be in cheques format so people forget to to either claim it or forgot to cash it. I had cheques which bounced so they putting money in my account directly

How long does the bank transfer take. I’ve had no cheque arrive, I’ve called them for bank transfer and two weeks later that hasn’t arrived either. Shocking service

Can you port an existing Vodafone number to them?
    bozo007's avatar
Nope, this is not an upgrade deal but new customer only. You need to switch to another provider for at least a day.

They've done my upgrade wrong and my account is only showing 50gb of data, contacted mobiles.co.uk and they have said a load of orders have gone wrong and they will be corrected on Wednesday.
    fossman's avatar
I rang them again yesterday afternoon.

They said they are still resolving the issues with Vodafone.

Did this previously, it’s always worth a punt as long as you set reminders to claim the cashback for months 4, 8, 10 and 12

Good deal. I am on my 2nd cashback claim on a similar deal from mobiles.co.uk. claim process is nice and easy. Only potential downside people might have is it's paid in cheque.

Anyone have constant problems with them sending cashback cheques? Almost always have to chase, then they make a bank transfer then strangely the cheque turns up the next week ..
    MgBossHogg's avatar
On cheque number 6 here. Never had to chase. 4 sent very quickly after uploading bill. 2 sent within the timeframe.

Sadly, I'd gone over 200GB/mth for nearly half the year.
    Gru_Official's avatar
    How???

I always wonder why people need so much mobile data.
  14. chigz-'s avatar
I’d upgrade to this but moving soon, I do with they did BACs.

i’ll stick to talkmobile for the time being until everything is sound

Won't let me do it online. Swap from o2 to Vodafone. Says network issue, phone for deal.
    Can't be arsed.

I took off the spend cap and it let me put it through.

Hate these redeeming cashcbacks why don't they just j close the check into the prices and make it simple for people
  19. drumdam's avatar
Had this deal for last year, was decent enough and the VF network was ace for me.
Ended up moving to TalkMobile though at £7.95, less data as didn’t need 200gb but cheaper pcm, inc EU data only 5gb though but the booster packs are cheaper than VF & no faffing about and only 30 day contract.
    See how it goes (edited)

I did this exactly. Voda retentions said they'd do me a great deal at £18pm. I told them £8 with talkmobile and they said £12.50... Why would I pay £12.50 instead of £8? The woman on the call genuinely seemed to think I was mad for refusing.
  20. perplexedme's avatar
Do these deals count as being a Vodafone customer for discount on Vodafone broadband etc?
    drumdam's avatar
    Yes
  21. skillzz2004's avatar
    does this include eu roaming?
    whitman_the_cat's avatar
    No!
You can roam (unlike the Vodafone Basics plans) but get charged. It's £2.42 per day as used, or you can buy an 8 day pass for £12 or 15 day for £17. Great for an annual holiday, steep if you need to go a lot.
  22. _Titan_Warrior_X's avatar
How do you know 'No Price Rises' when it written all over the ad that it will....?
    whitman_the_cat's avatar
It's a bit confusing but I took it to mean that this year's April rise will not apply.

It will go up next year, but if kept for the full twelve months only be about a month's worth of higher charge. Or you could upgrade to another Vodafone sim only up to 75 days before the end, meaning this contract would have no price rise but the upgraded contract would have the increase.

Had this package for three consecutive years always upgraded a month early and was still getting cashback etc but had a issue with cash back shocking response from company. On Lebara now looking for something decent
