We stayed across the road at the Garden Holiday Village last October. I'm not a big fan of Majorca but the area was quite nice but a bit quiet (but it was end of season). I'd definitely get a hire car, even just for the first or second day as the local shops are a bit of a long walk, not very good and expensive if you want to get some supplies in and do a bit of sightseeing!
