So I took one for the team and tested the offer. I was in central London for some work so I thought it was best to try redeeming the free sub there, than my local sub which is in a small parish.

My experience was a bit mixed but the end result can be seen in the attached picture. At first, I was told off for demanding a free Sub by showing the app to the server. Luckily, the supervisor who was just starting his shift overheard the conversation and asked me to show him the offer. He scanned my Sub Card and after some fervent taps on the screen, he confirmed there was a free Sub available to redeem. He asked me what toppings I want and gave me a free Sub.

Long story short, I won’t blame Subway for not honouring the free Sub offers. But as my experience clearly shows, it is down to the person on the till to find the free Sub voucher on your account. And in my experience, not every person on the till is an expert because a lot of servers are students and only work part time at Subway. So be patient and try a different store until you find someone who can crack it for you. I would recommend visiting a Subway with a high footfall and one which is located centrally.

Best of luck to those who tried and got it on their apps. My 2p on the offer is - Don’t give up! (edited)

I was told in my local subway that I was the first person they had looking to redeem the offer lol. Same as above, after a few random till button slaps...there it was for them to redeem on their screen.....I can imagine a lot of people will however loose 500 points to this offer due to staff not knowing what to do

From experience, 85% of subways don’t do the offers they advertise online…

One of the main reasons why I don’t get it very often. There is one literally across the road from where I work, it’s in a petrol station but I only eat there if I forget my lunch or something…

Does the free 6 inch sub have to be off the series menu too?

No, it says in the t&cs what you can redeem, eg can be salads and wraps
  4. s10's avatar
So I bought a select wrap and it has been 2 days but never got the 6in sub? Who do I complain to?

    Subway never honour their deals

Shame most Subways won't accept the vouchers and you've no way of knowing this until you've queued up, ordered and they've prepared the sandwich. One of the reasons I almost never eat at subways any more.

Check participating stores before ordering ?

Cold as Subway never honoured the last deal for me and when I contacted them about it, I got no reply
  8. A14JB's avatar
Haven't been back to Subway since last year when they didn't honour their promotion and didn't reply to any of my queries.
  9. MYS's avatar
Can't be asked with subway anymore... They always say scanner's not working and promo don't always get honoured
  10. callan117's avatar
Don't bother with Subway deals anymore usually they pretend the till won't accept the code, after showing they were one of the participating stores they reluctantly made it but try to make you feel like you're in the wrong. Not worth the fuss.

No shop will near me will honour this deal. Their loyalty scanners will magically stop working
  12. BlueCreek's avatar
The app is still absolutely shocking and unusable, can’t even log in as a verification code they require doesn’t arrive… and the list of participating stores is useless as they make it as difficult as possible to use the offer when there.
  13. ses6jwg's avatar
Had problems last time I went to a subway I scanned my app but they never added the points. Was a right kafuffle to get subway to honour them.

Another time they deliberately stopped taking cards.

    word of warning ...

    1) offer showed for me on the app
    2) bought a "series" sub from a participating store
    3) got an email seeming to confirm I was now eligible for the freebie
(however did not get 500 extra points added & nothing else on the app about it)
    4) went to another participating store to claim the freebie
    5) server said he could NOT put it thru the till as a freebie
    6) nice server put it thru as "employee food" & let me have it anyway

I have other accounts but wont be trying to use the offer again due to the above (edited)

Nothings appeared in the offer section, still says try one get one free. But I did get a notification saying I have 3 days till my free sub goes away. Feel like they will laugh at me if I ask for a free sub using the notification.

Store dependent, I guess, but that’s an example in London (edited)

Anyone know how to redeem the free one? I have purchased a sub from the series menu but got no email or voucher in the app
  28. Bella_Ciao's avatar
So this appeared on the app today after my purchase yesterday. But I don’t see any voucher or extra points for a free sub. How am I going to get that free sub? Any idea?

Same story. I didnt even get this. All i got was a notification saying I have 3 days left
  29. ForzaGTC's avatar
Has anyone worked out how to redeem the free sub yet? Also have the offer showing but no way of adding it to an online order etc

If you see this message in app then you can order a 6 inch sub in store and they will be able to use when you can your subcard
  30. TylerS63's avatar
Not sure how this works exactly. I paid for the original sub, but no mention of 500 points of a free 6 inch sub?
  31. JZY's avatar
I had the "your freebie is waiting" on the app, I showed it to them before i chose the sub i wanted. He scanned my subway QR code after, it must have showed up on their screen and thats was it. I had a look at my app and now the "freebie is waiting" has gone so it must have worked (edited)
  32. ses6jwg's avatar
Got email 2 days ago to say I got a free sub.

Scanned app in store and surprise surprise they've took 500 points off my balance.

    Absolutely useless

I love that they know exactly what ingredients goes in there breakfast sub, especial one ingredient and that is poached egg, so am guessing that the boiled eggs on it are a suprise ingredient lol
  34. Hutchyy's avatar
    Thanks didn't see it

So like others I received nothing after buying one from the offer and scanning card. Is this false advertising by subway if so they could get into legal trouble. Anyone managed to get a second free sub?
    TylerS63's avatar
Nope. Disgrace. Won't get another penny of my money

I was a little sceptical at this offer given most of the reviews but purchased a foot long from the new series Monday (would have gone for build my own without the offer), offer came through on email and in app on Tuesday but no code. Ordered the 6" (again from the new series) in person at my local subway today, scanned my QR code (explained to the cashier I was expecting it for free) and it worked - free 6". Thanks Subway, would be better if you could redeem on the app as I like to order ahead.
