About this deal

Been looking for one of these and seems the cheapest price right now for a decent quality SSD. Was going to order from US Amazon (where I also saw that lexar SD card). But seen it's like the same price with faster shipping from currys.

I was hoping SSDs would hold at £50 a gig for a quality one like this...but alas.

Yeah unfortunately not. I saw they were like £55 or so 6 months ago. But sadly don't have access to a time machine. Should do me anyway. Hopefully helps some others.

To be honest this is not a good price compared to past prices but until SSD manufacturers stop constricting supply you are not going to find a decent 1TB SSD at £50 or less.

This is £10 less than the next cheapest retailer therefore I think it is unfair to vote it cold.

I think there was an integral at 2tb for around £80 the other day, but it's no cache. (3 years warranty)
    Never used an integral ssd.

I think people are voting cold, partly because they've had bad experiences with the seller - the last SSD I purchased from Curry's, I was given the run around and finally decided to deal instead with the manufacturer who, painlessly, sent me a new one, and partly because, for instance, you can pick up the arguably slightly better Samsung EVO (not QVC, the EVO) 870 for only £4 more (Amazon) that includes bundled cloning software. But sure, I think there's also an element of time machine going on here, too, along with the fact there are are a lot of 1TB SSDs out there for quite a bit less, albeit they benchmark less well than the Crucial and the Samsung, personally I'd rather pay the bit extra for Crucial and Samsung, myself.

Do you have a link for the Evo please? Can't find it being sold by Amazon only marketplace and nowhere close to that price

Well that's fantastic. I don't have time to wait until next November right now it's the cheapest price. Well that I've found.
