Walnut is here. Lowest price I have seen for these loudspeakers which launched at £699! Still £429 at HiFix and £499 at Richer Sounds. A further reduction from Peter Tyson - these are now under £300 with the code FRESH20. A bit of a bargain for a pair of Dali floorstanding loudspeakers(in my opinion of course).

From the Danish company,Dali. Dali makes their own drive units in-house which makes them rather distinctive even at this price-point(their engineers are always nice to chat with at shows and will go through the technical aspects of this).

That is a classic pair of speakers! The Dali speakers being floorstanders will have better base extension.

Serious question for any one out there; how would these compare to my Jamo 6 Classic's (circa 80's) ?

I would be extremely cautious buying these, there's no FR measurements of them and the Spektor 1 measures extremely brightly. The only good reasons to buy floorstanders are aesthetics and higher sensitivity, otherwise just buy bookshelves. Good options that have actually been measured are Elac DB6.2, Wharfedale 12.1.

They are fine as I have demoed them. Trying to look at one unit in the range is not really going to say much. The Spektor 1 uses a 4.5" mid-base unit which is tiny. The Spektor 2 and 6 use a different 6.5" mid-base unit and would use a different crossover.

Even the ASR review points out the 4.5" mid-base is too small on the Spektor 1 and to buy a larger speaker.

The only thing shared is the tweeter, but the cabinets and drive units are not the same. Also floorstanders have nothing to do with aesthetics. If you listen to speakers within the same range going from small standmounts to the higher end floorstanders, there is a difference. (edited)

The Amazon price is from Peter Tyson - the next best price is from the next cheapest retailer which is HiFix. These launched at £500~£600. The Elac launched at £300.

Depends if you want a standmount or a floorstander. (edited)
