About this deal

Direct flights to Thailand's capital haven't been this cheap in ages! Just £519, which is almost £150 cheaper than the next option and about the same price as indirect flights (which is great). Dates are between October and December, with it being a decent time to go.

Bangkok, Thailand’s capital, is a large city known for ornate shrines and vibrant street life. The boat-filled Chao Phraya River feeds its network of canals, flowing past the Rattanakosin royal district, home to opulent Grand Palace and its sacred Wat Phra Kaew Temple. Nearby is Wat Pho Temple with an enormous reclining Buddha and, on the opposite shore, Wat Arun Temple with its steep steps and Khmer-style spire. ― Google

Indirect £450 or less, Direct £600 or less. What dates around?

Does anyone have any knowledge about wheelchair accessibility for Bangkok and it's surrounding islands?
    Original_Username_20's avatar
Getting around on pavements in a wheelchair would be quite difficult. They are barely designed well enough to walk on.

Almost every major building (attractions, shops, hotels etc) and the Metro/Skytrain have ramps.

If you can find a way to get between places easily (e.g. staying at a hotel near the Metro/Skytrain), it should be okay.

Not sure about wheelchair accessible taxis. Can’t recall seeing any.

There are tour groups who organise specifically for wheelchairs which may be better.

Overall though I wouldn’t say Bangkok is wheelchair friendly and anywhere outside won’t be any better.

    Cheers

Annoyingly BA don't have 2 week options, 13nts or 15nts might suit you at £550?

Amazing price! Most of BA’s long haul fleet is Boeing though!!
    Thislife79's avatar
And most of their 777 fleet are amongst the oldest in the sky... Particularly the 777-200's and also in the ultra cramped 10 seats abreast configuration.

FYI these are new routes for BA, after stopping them due to COVID. They have also added Kuala Lumpur and they will be on around the same time in October/November.

Edit: Basic economy seats so cabin luggage, no checked luggage, which could be doable with the hot weather. (edited)

I think Thailand is the only country in the world where you can live a life close to what you can expect in heaven. It is perfect, especially Pattaya. My dream is to settle there someday.

I lived there from age 21, 30 years between Parraya and Angeles City now back in UK aged 50s (edited)

Shame it's BA and not Eva or Thai but it's an amazing deal and you can do Thailand without checked in luggage

Do yourself a favour and book 21 days and not 14 days. You won't regret it

The exchange rate is amazing at the moment

Never again BA. Last two flights were awful by all means, and no responsibility at all. Unable to get compensation for delays despite they were out of staff.
    bluenitsuj's avatar
Agree. Only had awful experiences with them.
