I really don't understand why people complain about the performance of machines like this. It's a £90 computer and it even comes with a years subscription to MS 365.

It's perfectly OK for email, web browsing and bitching on HUKD about how slow sub £100 computers are.

To put the performance of this system into relative terms, as shown in the video linked by the op, it's so slow that if you open MS Paint, you can actually watch as each individual UI element loads in and renders to screen. Obviously it's cheap and may fulfill a certain niche, but when it's so slow that it struggles to load something as basic as MS Paint, paying an extra £50 to get something that's actually good seems like solid advice to me.

It's a low price, but should come with a free sleeping bag, as it will be so slow, you'll be waiting around forever.

If you don't need this form factor, a refurbished laptop with an 8th gen i5 for around £150 will be significantly better, or a Chromebook.

I'll play devil's advocate, I personnel despise the Celeron N4020 for my personal use, forget multitasking, waits between any sort of photo or video task and forget any demanding games, it'll chugg.

HOWEVER... my 2 kids do have a similar spec Iota Flo 360 convertible laplet and for their use it's perfect and at £50 refurbished a year ago was al last minute gift. Their use though is Steam link streaming games from a Ryzen machine, Roblox, Minecraft, indie games, YouTube netflix etc and Xbox live streaming initial loads are a bit longer.

TL:DR it's going to be a niche device, think of it more of a modern netbook/budget android tablet than a daily driver, also cheap enough to be thrown in a rucksack for travelling or in the car instead of taking your main much more expensive laptop.

Oh and Windows S mode sucks, remove it, it's simple enough, then turn off AI Copilot and the taskbar ads crap in Windows, then appearance settings drop to best performance, oh and make sure it's always running in balanced or high performance modes, manufacturers like to hobble these into power saver when on battery, stupid idea, lastly drop screen resolution to 768 unless watching a film the cpu and igpu will thank you.
