2TB of Google One storage for £9.58 a year (with today's conversion rate - 290 Turkish Lira)

Use a VPN to connect to a Turkish server. Make a new Google account. Use Revolut or any other card with free conversion rate to pay for Google One.

You will be able to share this data with 5 other accounts. Use Google One app to do so.

If you are unable or don't want to mess with the 'Family' section of your account, you can simply activate 'Partner Sharing' on Google Photos settings. This will upload all your photos of your main account to your newest 2TB account. Once this is done you can also change the settings so everything is backed up directly into your new account.

You can have multiple Google accounts for different apps and use them all at the same time. I have my personal email in one account (UK) with my Google Wallet for passes and credit cards, my YouTube in India and my Google one in turkey lol

Are you not nervous they'll delete all your uploaded data if found to be violating T&C's?

Google sometimes close accounts even unjustifiably. They may not undo it. And just imagine for a second how devastating that would be.

Any company could do this. Never, ever, have a single point of failure that you couldn't recover from. If Google is your backup (etc) place, have another copy of everything elsewhere. Use their Takeout service regularly if nothing else. (edited)

tried this months ago and i could not share my turkish account with uk based accounts. said the shared family accounts had to be in the same country. so you can sign up to the turkish storage deal no problem, but then you'd have to use that account to store all your photos. definately could not share with my uk accounts.

same thing for my usa YT aacount. i could not link my uk YT premium family account to the usa YT account (edited)

This. I'm able to legitimately share my UK Google One account with my fam in Australia. So fairly sure you won't be able to add your UK account to the new Turkish one you create.

I say it's too risky to use your real account to get cheap prices. Just look at the way Netflix has gone. Google has the right to close/delete your account if you are found to be dodging their UK pay systems. That's why for example for YouTube premium, I use a totally different Google account.

Regarding your personal photos and other files - again too risky as you could lose everything if Google decides that you've violated their T&C, so be very careful.

Why what's happened with Netflix? I know they're cracking down on family sharing outside of the household, but I'm still currently paying for my sub in Turkish Lira without any issues. Has there been any clamping down on this too?

    As per the other thread:
    - worked with Monzo card
    - doesn't allow family sharing with UK-based accounts
    - still good value as a cold storage

My YouTube account is in India and the address is next to the Indian prime ministers home. 😁
I'd probably be clocked if I move it to Turkey. Any idea how much it is in India?

    More expensive in India. It's INR1260 (£12) for 200GB, INR6500 (£62) for 2TB, annually.

Never convert your main account to Turkish setup a burner account and then share it to your main account so if your burner account gets banned it doesn’t affect your main account. This is what I have been doing also for people having issues sharing their account you must make sure all the references to UK location are removed from your account and add a payment profile for Turkey then you can share to family and friends. If you stop paying you can still access your files and photos but you can't upload anything new. It essentially goes into read only mode until you reduce your storage usage to below the amount you currently pay for. (edited)

People need to stop taking so many photos. That is where all the storage is being used up. Every photo taken gets uploaded to Google and gets forgotten about there. All the while it's slowly building up and increasing your dependence on Google when your storage runs out and you need to start paying for it. You won't have time to sort through 10,000 photos and deleting the junk so end up paying.

I have managed the matter of joining the group after making the payment to the Turkish account. I used Windscribe VPN, specifically the PRO version. You need to expand the options panel, select the connection option, and set up GPS spoofing there, which also needs to be configured in the developer options. Everything is described in detail in Windscribe. So now, we launch Windscribe VPN in Turkey with GPS spoofing enabled. After these steps, you can finally join the Turkish family group. Everything has been sorted out on the phone.

It worked for me. I used NordVPN to connect to Turkey. Then I created a new Gmail account (UK Gmail accounts do not work). Gmail asked me for mobile verification to see if I was a bot, so I used my UK number for the Google verification code. It would ask me to provide a number to save for recovery purposes, so I clicked skip, and it gave me the option to enter an email address instead for account recovery. I paid using Revolut, which was around £8.80 in UK conversion for one year. Now that's a bargain.

      Thank you

You need to be in the same country (Turkey) to share, isn't it?
    777jrg_'s avatar
    777jrg_ Author
I have shared between my personal account and the Turkish account and this didn't change my country (in my personal account) but that was back in February. Unsure if things have changed now. Just be aware that if that happens you can only change countries once a year.

To be fair you don't even need to share with 'family'. You could just get your phone to start uploading to that specific Google account instead. (edited)

There is a way around it. You need to login to your Google account and create a new profile, look at this for example.
50401828_1.jpgso I still get to keep my Google pay account to do contact less payments (as its not supported in turkey) and I get to have 2TB of storage and all YouTube premium and even 90 percent of all paid apl/subscriptions for cheaper price, doesn't work on all apps but most are cheaper. Method for google One & Youtube premium Turkey

This works after hours of trying. I was also able to family share to my my main. which was linked to Argentina family account just minutes before.

    What I done:

    1. Create new turkey google account (used gmail phone app to bypass phone verification) (Used ExpressVPN)
    2. Using VPN and revolt card to purchase plan required
    3. Turn off VPN and on your main or account you want to family share to delete all payment profiles.
    4. Create new turkey payment method with a card linked
    5. Create a family sharing link from the turkey account you made
    6. Volla all done!

Working as of 6th Aug 2023.
    Hope this helps someone. (edited)

Already have YouTube premium under a Turkish account with a Revolut card, so just ran up Urban VPN on my phone, connected to a server in Turkey, logged in to Google one using the YouTube premium email, and signed up. All went through fine (it's even better value than £9.58 because you get a free Month's trial too )

I tried many moons ago but you cant/ when sharing, family has to be based in the same country. obviously the work around is t sub to this and then use it as the storage option on google photos. risk is that it is against terms of service and might get pulled, though i doubt it.
