I tried this 20 odd years ago, being polite when served after dinner when the gentlemen retired - it was very, very earthy but yummy. I don't drink alcohol but this would be my tipple if i did. HOT deal...no idea about cost though.

ive been a whisky drinker for about 10yrs, and it pains me that I just cant enjoy this. When I tell other whisky drinkers that I absolutely hate the stuff, they usually look at me like ive killed their first born

Good point Paul106. If I recall, the one I was offered was a single Laphroaig, not being fashionable among the drinking classes then, but if I recall tasting notes were 'Peaty' and it was a lot more to buy then than this price. But I don't drink booze anyway. HOT nonetheless. Thanks for the memories OP. (edited)

I have only tried the Quarter Cask and the 10. My favourite being the Quarter Cask.

I haven't tried the Select for pure snobbery. I'm thinking I should give it a try to save a few pennies.
