Great little keyboard on offer at Amazon.
Introducing MX Keys Mini, a smaller, smarter, and mightier minimalist wireless keyboard made for creators. The minimalist form factor provides improved ergonomics by aligning your shoulders and allowing you to place your mouse closer to your keyboard for less arm reaching, more comfort, and better body posture. Perfect Stroke keys are shaped for your fingertips with backlighting that automatically adjusts. Smart Dictation, Mic Mute/Unmute, and Emoji keys streamline your workflow even smarter.

Work on a minimalist keyboard that places every key, command, and shortcut at your fingertips, without cluttering your space with extra keys you don't need. Easily pair MX Keys Mini via Bluetooth Low Energy with up to three devices and switch between them at the push of a button. No dongle required.

The backlit keys light up the moment your hands approach, and automatically adjust to suit changing lighting conditions and save battery power. Work in bright light, low light, or even no light. Three keys transform the way you work and collaborate. A Dictation key means you can talk-to-text with the press of a button. An Emoji key instantly opens your emoji window for the perfectly timed reaction emoji. And a Mic Mute/Unmute button ensures smooth video calls. Team your MX Keys Mini with a Flow-enabled MX Master 3 or MX Anywhere 3 and type on multiple devices in one fluid workflow. Transfer files, documents, and images across computers and Mac and Windows operating systems.

  • USB connectivity.
  • Hot keys functions x 3.
  • Programmable hot keys for quick access to chosen programs.
  • Programmable favourites keys.
  • Batteries required 1 x LiPo (included).
  • Manufacturer's 2 year guarantee.

Whilst I generally like Logitech peripherals, I have the full sized MX Keys and that design has a nasty bug with the backlighting which causes it to randomly come on and drain the battery. Despite many users reporting experiencing the issue Logitech have never even acknowledged it, as far as I know, let alone offered any sort of fix. Therefore I'm wary of recommending the mini model.

Also, with the mini model Logitech for seemingly no good reason decided to drop their 'universal' dongle and go with a new 'bolt' standard which is incompatible with their older wireless peripherals and doesn't seem to offer any sort of user benefit at all.

This should work to disable the promixity sensor so the backlight only works with keypresses. It's just unscrewing the lead for the sensor on the circuit board and putting some tape on to prevent the metal touching after.

I think this is the US layout, if that matters to anyone.

should be UK if it's sold here. Argos sell the same thing and they confirmed that they sell the UK layout even though the illustrations show US layout. But it would be nice if it was made clear

Make sure you use the dongle, because in bluetooth mode when you're typing at a reasonable speed and hit shift to capitalize the first letter of a word, it keeps shift held for a fraction of a second when you let go. So your word ends up looking like POtato and BAnana etc. No firmware update to remedy this.

Said weird latency/buffering effects make fast action gaming a non-starter as well.

On the up side, despite it not being a mech it has a really nice typing action.

Unlike some of their even more expensive keyboards, it has USB-C charging.

I've never had this issue and use bluetooth all the time.

How is this comparable to the Apple keyboard?

Imo better. Nicer to type on. Can pair with 3 devices. Can customise the function F Keys

Highly recommended - I use one easily switching between 2 macs and a PC. Much prefer to Apple keyboards, esp the auto illumination of the keys when your hand hovers nearby. I have the full size and mini version, and prefer the smaller one.

Does this come with the receiver?

I didn't with my UK MX keys mini, but did get a Unify dongle with the full size version of this keyboard.

Good price, not so sure good keyboard. Based on this, no dongle and proximity sensor issue.

Hmm interesting. Not issues that have ever bothered me in the slightest. I also have have the dongle, but just use bluetooth. For me, miles better than the apple KBs, and I have all versions. (can't comment on gaming tho, as not interested) The mouse is also great imo.

Anyone had delivery confirmation of 20th June? Seems weird on something like this .
    Hippos's avatar
HI, yes me too, was next day a few days ago and now late June. But expecting them to ship much sooner once these are back in stock.

Wondering why this has dropped in price recently, is a new version due?

Still annoys me that Logitech haven't made a USB-C Unifying receiver. (edited)

Think it was to price match with Argos
