I bought one of these last month and I think it’s as good value for money as the post above albeit cheaper.

Is this really a good Price?
Had this for a short time and returned it. Build quality is terrible and it's really plasticy, mine came with a crack in the bottom. This is less than I paid but I still couldn't recommend it.
This is best I have seen in past couple of months for the specs
Purchased one of these and refunded the build quality is quite poor to be honest. Got a x360 from the premium range albeit slightly pricier. And a bit more price u can get the 8th gen i5

Interesting site softwaregeeks. Looks like they're reselling volume licences (for the cheaper stuff). May be "genuine" (their words) but it's an infringement of Microsoft licensing. Wonder how long they'll survive?

Nb. Reselling is allowed under EU law but you must still meet the licence terms. I highly doubt these do, so you might as well pay less on eBay. Given some of the prices it suggests resold MSDN, Education or stolen codes and not fully paid up business licenses (which they would be entitled to sell).

I like how you think that your whataboutery and rhetoric holds weight next …I like how you think that your whataboutery and rhetoric holds weight next to two actual usage examples. The very idea that you shouldn't buy technology because it might be out of date in the future is absurd. You obviously know that.Oh, and I guarantee that my 2017 SP will last at least 3 years without 'frustration', just like my 7 year old desktop continues to work as well as it did on the day I bought it, without a single modification. Just like how my SP3 is still being used by my partner, and that is also driving two 1080p monitors, and running the same software as I run.

I honestly don’t care if you don’t think it holds weight. If you think that 4GB is acceptable on a premium machine costing £700 with a retail of £1100, is ‘fine’ in 2018 then good for you - if the requirements increase in the next few years then that can change. I see you chose to ignore the bit where I said I have a Surface Pro 3 with 4GB of RAM. I tolerate it because I got it for £400 about 2 years ago but it’s always at around 90% memory usage with my workload.

Anyway with Microsoft’s track record on hardware I wouldn’t guarantee it would be usable in 3 years, just look at the original SP3 owners complaining their battery doesn’t take charge any more or Surface Book owners whose hardware has warped (for example).

FWIW I’m waiting on a Surface Pro 4 with 8GB and 128 or more SSD
plewis004 h, 8 m ago

It's funny that you are obsessing on the choice of the word 'paint'. I …It's funny that you are obsessing on the choice of the word 'paint'. I also own a Surface Pro 3 and I think when spending that kind of money you expect more than 4GB of RAM; for goodness sake even Apple, the company that people love to hate don't supply 4GB on their laptops any more. Regardless of what you think I was trying to achieve, I think you or I or anyone else would be mad to expect 4GB to last them 2-3 years without frustration and at £700 you would expect 2-3 years minimum reasonably. I have real world experience too and as I said, it's offset by a fast SSD but there is only so much you can do and I would not be happy encouraging people to spend this money on a machine with such a pitiful amount of RAM (for the money). If this were £500 then it might be just 'ok'. 4GB RAM was high-end in 2005, mainstream around 2008 and now 10 years later they are still trying to sell computers with this... Anyway two differing opinions, let's leave it there. The difference is that you can go and add more RAM to your desktop very easily (or remove it as you've shown) but the Surface Pro becomes a throwaway device, that's the crucial part (no pun intended). Windows does run fine with 4GB (we've been saying it'll be fine with 1GB tablets for ages but people don't listen) though all you need is a bloated expansion pack or another Vista and that's the end.

I like how you think that your whataboutery and rhetoric holds weight next to two actual usage examples. The very idea that you shouldn't buy technology because it might be out of date in the future is absurd. You obviously know that.

Hi Yh I was told by my mate that it’s easiest if you log onto Microsoft on your phone or computer and go through it that way I’ve done it on my phone and sorted everything I needed
Managed to get 5 months for £15 (As opposed to £39.95!) Had used 2 months of free trial in past aswell, just followed the link to deal above and signed in to microsoft account and the £3 deal appeared. Then once payment was made I just went back to the original page and the £3 deal was still there so just did It a few more times to stack looking forward to Sea of Thieves!33238421-Ocyqm.jpg
