Except if you buy elsewhere because you didn’t realise that there could be a deal available

I don’t understand why people vote cold when this offer is posted. I recently renewed my Gold membership and I was able to get it discounted thanks to someone posting it on here. I hadn’t received an email about the offer, it was through the console only. I hadn’t been on my console for a little while so I hadn’t seen the offer. If it hadn’t been posted on here, I wouldn’t have known about it and would have paid full price. I don’t know why people on here moan just because offers aren’t available for everyone or only available in certain stores or locations. If some people can benefit then I think it should be posted. We can’t all be lucky all the time and we shouldn’t begrudge others.

There's always going to be a market for these types of products, they may not be for everyone but this doesn't make them 'overpriced turd'! As a professional photographer I have a top spec surface pro as my on-the-go photo editing machine. The touch sensitivity of the pen on screen is second to none, the ability to detach the keyboard and use it in tablet mode means it works well as a tethered monitor to show clients their photos as we shoot, the screen is bright enough to use outdoors and the colours are astoundingly accurate when compared to print. The spec handles photoshop and lightroom just fine as well as some 1080p video editing in premiere. Also the surface keyboards are incredible to type on.

If you're a basic user this might be overpriced, but I've yet to find another machine that fits into my workflow so seamlessly.

I take it there's no dedicated gpu then?

And why is it being upvoted sheeple? My Android gets monthly security and firmware upgrades, less often entire system updates, but it would never occur to me to post it as a deal, freebie or not. How does this HOT "deal" help anyone when the update is going to be forced on them whether or not they want it or know about it just now?? Btw. my TV got a firmware upgrade last month to fix some bugs and add a feature. Should I post that in FREEBIES or DEALS, or maybe use my common sense and refrain from wasting peoples time? How about Free Fresher Air outside of traffic congestion zones? It's as legit as this. COLD AS ICE - just like every version of Windows since the first. Site is becoming a joke when an update nobody is crying out for and will be forced on them in due time counts as a deal and goes hot while genuine deals, ie. ones that save us money and its our choice to buy/rent/install them or give them a miss, get downvoted for the most trivial of reasons.

Who actually test and certify the honesty of all these tools and apps out there and everywhere?!Use a command prompt whenever possible, to keep things simple stupid for a once in a while task. If you are doing batches of PCs as an IT technician then there is justification for a productivity tool. Another command that I use is xcopy and to select various file attributes, when you know it, which is very easy, it is far superior to run some apps or tools.

Initially I was just pointing out your error in that a lot of these tools don't need to be installed.
A lot of them are Open Source and have been around for years and are recommended by reputable sites.
I'd place more faith in that than a random script from a random person on the internet.
Not that I don't appreciate your point of view and it's valid to me but just one option.

Ah Xcopy. I used to create batch files using that and it's a good tool but it has some limitations for sure and when you first start with it it's hardly the most user friendly tool.

you get the deluxe edition content included with the ultimate edition which is: (copy and pasted from website)

Inflict more damage on enemy vehicles with the Ion Grenade.
• The Ion Torpedo locks on to and delivers extra damage to your opponents’ vehicles.
• Made famous by Han Solo, the DL-44 is the blaster of choice for scoundrels across the universe.
• Get electrified with the Ion Shock emote, available exclusively in the Deluxe Edition.
• Celebrate your win in style and pump your fist in the air with the exclusive Victory emote.

Not much really, I personally wouldn’t pay for the ultimate edition for in game items if you already own the base game anyway. You can unlock the ion torpedo and the DL-44 through normal gameplay anyway

I will say it will go down in the next big sales they have

Easy achievements if you have a Bit of Time to Spare Bout, 20 hours

tbh this is quite a good story and fun little game, granted i got it free with GWG but still

its £4. not played it, yes it was free on games with gold few months back.. but worth a punt at £4 ??? that's only a pound more than I paid for BMX Simulator on the Commodore 64 in 1986 ... although, that was a cracking game....

Wasn't this free not long ago

As the site is out of the lowest amount, would this work getting a $50 code from somewhere like cd keys and doing it that way?

More like £32ish with processing fees added at checkout but worked perfectly and still a decent price for the gold edition so heat added!

not bad ill check it out as it finishes in 5 days at this price

I have a i7 (4th Gen) Dell Inspiron laptop on Windows 8. Stick or upgrade to 10?
I upgraded it to 10 when it first was offered and was horrible. It drained my battery even after I shut it down

If your drive isn't SSD then a disk defrag might help, but I agree that some updates do slow it down. Some of the additional functionality takes more RAM and that doesn't help and over-writing programs with slightly larger versions does tend to fragment the filesystem (not a problem on SSDs).

Anti-virus updates also slow the system over time. As the virus database grows bigger I'd guess there is more to scan for and that is bound to take longer.

If the system is becoming very slow then your hard drive might be suspect. They do tend to slow down if they have a lot of bad sectors. I've seen old SSDs slow down as well, but the newer generations seem to be much better.

To find your Windows 8, 8.1, 10 product key from BIOS, UEFI

Run Powershell, copy and paste in this command and run (copy and then in Powershell windows , right mouse button to paste)
(Get-WmiObject -query 'select * from SoftwareLicensingService').OA3xOriginalProductKey

or using Command Prompt Windows with Admin rights, run this command

wmic path softwarelicensingservice get OA3xOriginalProductKey in command prompt admin

If you have Windows 7, Vista (then read the product key from your COA or download MSKeyViewerPlus and run this very small simple tool to get your Windows Product Key.
