About this deal

This was recently on a sale for 399 for VIP CLUB members, and 399 is the current price for the black version on Amazon.

I think for 299 with a sub is a good price. AV receiver is required to get those running.
Those are not active / bluetooths / smart speakers

The perfect blend of sound and style
Compact and unobtrusive but full of energy, the Monitor Audio MASS 5.1 is the ideal home cinema speaker package for smaller rooms and for when you want quality cinema sound without larger boxes taking over your space.

Small speakers with a big heart
Compact and easy to place, the MASS 5.1 speakers don’t compromise on sound quality. The two-way design features a separate, soft dome, tweeter for a bright and detailed top end – ideal for hearing every subtle detail from your favourite movie or music. Monitor Audio’s MMP II (Metal Matrix Polymer) cones deliver exceptional accuracy for clear speech and pinpoint special effects. The high rigidity cabinets reduce distortion for dynamic sound at higher levels – keeping you on the edge of your seat during tense movie moments.

Powerful subwoofer
Perfectly paired and powerful, the matching subwoofer delivers bass you can feel. Optimised to match the satellite speakers, the sub cuts in at just the right moment to power the bass without clouding the mid-range. Using an 8 inch MMP II driver, the sub delivers a taut, powerful bass to drive any movie soundtrack or music with conviction.

Room friendly
Unique, custom-weave cloth bookends the satellite speakers and fronts the sub, for a soft, harmonious style. The satellite speakers are very easy to place and can also be mounted to optional MASM wall mount or floor stands.

Choice of finishes
Thanks to a choice of colours, the smooth good looks blend effortlessly with your décor. Choose between midnight or mist finishes for a darker or lighter hue.

Keep your cinema sound standards high without compromising your living room’s style, with the perfectly balanced Monitor Audio MASS 5.1.

Bargain! I have the previous version of these, still going strong after 10 years.

Been looking at upgrading my jamo a102 setup. Price reduction does make it very tempting but no idea if it is a noticeable upgrade

5 of the satellites for 149 seems pretty good if you pair with a decent sub (edited)

I've never tested yours model, but I'd say looking at images, it's probably in the same bracket for quality as the OPs deal. And similar to Cambridge audio's Minx series

Your money, your choice, but if you're using 5.1, maybe consider upgrading the left, centre and right first as that will likely have a bigger impact.

Then that leaves you some spare speakers to go atmos! (Absolute pain in the chuff chasing cable to the ceiling though!)

Great price. Paid 299 for secondhand at the start of 2023.

Used as centre, rears and heights(Atmos) with Radius 90s for L+R. Running off a 50w/pc amp... Plenty loud and plenty clear for our use.

For a discreet surround sound set up, I think these are very hard to fault. Brackets for wall/ceiling are £20 odd quid a pop though!

Would these be much of an upgrade over a set of Kef 'eggs' 2005.2?
