Popeyes have released three meal deals from Monday - Friday until the 18th September 2023.

Signature Wrap Deal - A Chicken Wrap, Fries and. Drink for £5

Family to Feed - 2 Chicken Sandwiches, 4 Chicken Tenders and 4 Fries £18.99

Two eat for £6 - 5 Chicken Tenders and 2 Fries

We ordered the “family to feed” for £18.99 and the Chicken Sandwiches were massive as were the Chicken Tenders, hence we could not eat everything. You can also customise your tenders, wraps and sandwiches if you want spicy chicken as opposed to normal Popeyes Fried Chicken.

Is this just not (at least in the UK) rebranded KFC?

You’ve obviously not tried this as it’s quality and portion sizes are more than 100% better than KFC, trust me.

Popeyes is a brand in its own right and if you get the chance you should try and you will attest to this. (edited)

Good deal and heat added, but KFC is still the king IMO.

Kfc used to be good, the fillet burgers and zinger burgers are now far too small/thin, more batter than chicken

My partner was 1 of 2 "Day One" winners when the first Popeyes opened in Stratford, after she became a massive fan of it in New Orleans. She gets vouchers every week for free chicken sandwiches. So far we've tried Stratford, Oxford, Northampton, Chelmsford, Nottingham and Derby.

Never had any food related issues in any of them. Yes there has been the odd long wait and forgotten food item which is quickly rectified. It may look pricey but this is levels above KFC and any other fried chicken joint, and KFC prices are now not far off what Popeyes are and you get considerably less.

Clearly I'm biased, and I've not tried every location, but this is the best fast food available IMO. Usually order enough to take home and heat up the next day . I think Chelmsford or Nottingham has been the best so far, their chicken fillets in the sandwich were massive and fresh. (edited)

Awesome. Great that it’s being fulfilled.

I wish I lived in Ontario, Canada. My uncle there has 13 Popeyes franchises with a partner. My parents bring back the mixtures and mum makes it for us at home every so often 🍗

Their fries are the best even the standard, proper southern fries!!

Better tasting chicken and size of pieces are bigger.

I will be disappointed if my Popeye's meal doesn't come with spinach

As a southern girl living in Northern Ireland for years, why did i not know there was a Popeyes in the UK? Must see where is closest lol do they do chicken and biscuits?

Please tell me its not like Tim Hortons and just a nightmare. I was so excited when Tim Hortons opened to just be let down by it being terrible.

Yep they do chicken and biscuits but to be honest the biscuits are very small and overpriced at £1 each. You can have the biscuits with gravy or honey also if you wish.

OFC, absolutely nothing in the East of England, as usual.

    One for midlanders.
    AdamB_ITFC's avatar
Midlanders have only recently got options in the last few months. It was just London to start off with. They keep opening more and more though so expect there’ll be one around there soon.

Only ever tried it once at Antalya Airport.
    The burger, nuggets and tenders
to be honest were disgusting and we ended up binning of it.

So not sure if it different in the UK or not.

amazes me to read so many accounts of people binning perfectly edible food. No chance the food was that bad.

Their chicken burgers and tenders are nice. The chicken itself, not so much.

Heat added, another good deal that ISNT McDonald’s or KFC. Will try it later today, thanks OP!

Why is there still no app for Popeyes

The website does the same thing

I tried it first time had to buy the premium burger because the £6:95 burger came with no lettuce premium burger alone 7;95
Second time all food full of oil I’ll stay away. For grill food I’d pay high price, this is over priced fried food (edited)

Can’t wait for the one in Manchester to open next month! Tried the one in Liverpool a few months back and it was soooo good. Really looking forward to it.

Tried the one in Leicester for the first time few weeks back. Burgers and fries were leagues ahead of KFC, would definitely get them again. Chicken pieces were rough though. Coke fountain drink station in store as well.

Everything tastes better when your not at home. Guinness being a good example.

Went yesterday and found the food awful! Very oily and too much salt. Food did not taste fresh at all. Yuk!

I found out that it's a hit or miss. Had it for the first time a few weeks ago and it was absolutely delicious. The burguer and the wings. However, had it last week and the wings were so salty.

Haven't tried Popeyes yet. Stopped going to KFC now as their portion sizes have shrunk dramatically. Stick to my cheap and cheerful Morleys which tastes good and good size portions.

The milkshake was like water thin when I tried it!! (edited)

Honestly never knew they were in the UK. Turns out they're just up the road from me! Glad to see they have the 'biscuits' as well, though the gravy looks like brown English bisto rather than the creamy porky US stuff, which is much nicer.
    AdamB_ITFC's avatar
    It's not! It's thick and very cajun-ny.

It’s over priced , tried it in Liverpool

Do they use Olive Oyl to fry the food ?
    Peetsky's avatar
    Author
The restaurant chain uses vegetable oil blends, including canola oil and soybean oil [2], to fry their chicken to perfection. Combining these two types of oil allows Popeyes to achieve a crispy, crunchy texture that customers love.
  23. _pollyanna_'s avatar
Worst fried chicken we have ever eaten. Really oily and no flavour. Won’t be going there again.
    Neostar's avatar
It depends on the branch as they are not consistent (edited)

    Love that chicken from Popeyes.
  25. Cremoso99's avatar
Tried it and quite impressed. Three piece meal had two breasts (third piece was a tiny wing though), have to buy 9 pieces to get a breast in KFC. Mind you, it cost £8.50 and KFC sometimes do 9 pieces for £5.99.
    Liked the crispy coating too.
