I was originally going for the B&D but looking at the Stanley it has some extra features-extra board for the middle to make a larger table, grooves for holding pipes-not much but may just come in useful.

I have just bought the Stanley version. Strange that the boxes are such different sizes because the frames look identical in the photos but I haven't actually seen the B&D version in the flesh to compare, I assume it's the same size as the Stanley?
It's not a patch on my old original B&D workmate (as many have said) although I have to agree that for £20 it can't be beaten.
BUT BUT BUT please be aware there are a LOT of SHARP EDGES on the pressed metal and it's especially bad because some of them are in the in places where you might handle it or pick it up.
If I'd paid substantially more and it came with those edges it would go straight back, but for £20 I'll file it (extensively) to round them off.
I don't want sliced fingers and I don't want anyone else to have them either...

Anyone know if you can contact the store to check if they have them?
Don't want to get a taxi if they don't stock them or sold out. Thanks

Looks nearly identical to the B&D WM536 which is a little, cheapy workmate for around £45., Not bad but not a patch on the workmates of old. For £20 it's a bargain and useful though. (edited)

Both the Stanley and the B&D are down to £9.99 in stores that still have stock.
