About this deal

Currently the best instant read thermometer for your money, it reads accurately in ~1 second.

The large display rotates to make it that moment faster to read, so you can get your BBQ lid back down as quickly as possible. This is an instant read thermometer - don't leave it in your BBQ!

Turns on/off automatically when you swing out the probe.

Plenty of reviews and comparisons on YouTube (but let me save you some time, I've already watched them, you probably want this one).

Different colours available at different prices - I went for red at £65.

I've got this an genuinely the best kitchen purchase we've made. Superb quality, very quick and accurate readings. We now cook everything based on temperature rather than time, and it has significantly improved the taste of our food as you can avoid over cooking everything!

Things usually taste better overcooked than under.

Ive got the older model and I've used and abused it regularly for about 8 years. It's lightning fast, accurate, tough as boots and it's made in the UK. Ive lost count of the times Ive dropped it and I've even accidentally submerged it in boiling water, I would get another in a heartbeat but the plucky little probe just keeps on trucking.

Would risk food poisoning at this price.

How's this 10 times better than the £6 one I bought from Amazon ?

Near identical to the one I bought my gf... Probably the same, just different branding. Bought proper bbq gear cheaper than this, 6 probes, app etc

Only yesterday bought a food thermometer and i'd agree that it is an essential kitchen gadget, I don't belive that having it read the temparature a few seconds faster than the £13 one I bought is worth paying almost £50 more.

Depends on how you're using it. To get an accurate idea of doneness (depending on what you're cooking) you may need to probe several locations - a big joint or bird, a load of chicken or burgers.

You want to get in, probe quickly, and get out, so the heat doesn't escape.

Most probes will be 5 seconds or so, some of the £20-£40 probes can do 3 seconds. Multiply by the number of measurements and the number of items you're cooking, and it adds up, especially if you're going for low n slow. (edited)
