Been on uSwitch for months at £16. I was with talk mobile anyhow, just contacted them and they put me on this deal. No problems with talk mobile, they are owned by Vodafone, just don't get access to the app and very me rewards. Same speeds as I got with Vodafone, no caps or anything as far as I can remember when deal was first posted here last year.

Same price via quidco compare but you get £12 cashback as well

Is it speed capped on the Vodafone network?
    shaynzka's avatar
No. Speed is great (Vodafone) with unlimited data without any restrictions unlike O2 where they place 650GB cap per month.

I was with TalkMobile before but moved to Vodafone. Same and reliable. Great for gaming as I use it to download games and play online. I get ping under 40ms.

Does anyone know if its truly unlimted like smarty? (With no fair usage policy?) just wondering if its going to cause an issue if i use between 1-2TB a month?

While the website just says unlimited, the app shows 10TB of allowance remaining. I'd call that close enough to unlimited.

edit: 12/3 My TCB tracked, but only £17. Will post results of my email to TCB CS!

TCB are offering £25.50 vs Quidco’s £22.50. Personally, I’ve had better results with TCB. (edited)

Whats a good router? I have a flat roof and need waterproof.
Would dual sim make it FASTER?
    aLV426's avatar
Dual SIM doesn't change the speed - in this context it simply allows for two SIMs to be used. As far as I am aware it provides failover as apposed to doubling of speeds. (Of course it depends on the model, however I haven't seen a home use router that supports concurrent data paths using 2 SIMs) It also depends on your definition of good router. I'm not sure what relevance "I have a flat roof and need waterproof." is as most 5G routers work just fine indoors - and external aerial can usually be added - which is waterproof by design

Can you use this as a data SIM in a laptop or tablet
    gvb67's avatar
Wouldn't work for me in a 4g router to tether, I spoke to them and they don't support the sim in routers

    Data doesn't work

Will this work in a mobile broadband router?

Just this keep rolling until cancelled?

Vodafone 4/5g is great in town. At home lucky to get above 20mbps down and 5mbps up. Lag from live feed on ring doorbell isnt good. Often cant use it. Alerts come through ok though. If I wasn’t such a cheapskate I’d have switched to ee.

5g router is a bit spenny. Any recommendations from AliExpress?
    KodaBear's avatar
I had a quick look on AliExpress and can't immediately see anything that's much cheaper than what you can buy from CeX here in the UK which will arrive quickly and come with a 2 year warranty.

ZTE MC801A is £130 There for example.

Do you reckon I'd have any trouble switching my number from Vodafone to Talk Mobile (with them being the same company?)

Best Vodafone will offer me for unlimited is £26 a month on a 2 year contract

Is this equivalent to Vodafone's "Unlimited Max" or one of the lesser unlimited packages where they cap the speed?
    B7869's avatar
No speed caps. I pay £16 a month for unlimited and get 300+mbps on 5G. I’m not sure about switching from Vodafone but I did switch my number from Voxi to Talkmobile and they are both owned by Vodafone. Talkmobile have a live chat option so probably worth speaking to them first.

Oh bugger! Do you have any idea when this offer ends? Turns out I'm still in a contract with Vodafone til the 6th of May. I don't mind contracts overlapping a little bit but that's nearly two months

As long as Smarty is advertising £16 this one will too, I think. Should be no problem switching number from Vodafone. I did no problem.

Any better 5g unlimited data deal for a 5g router unlocked?

I have access to student deals.
Currently paying 15.3£ for data SIM to three.
