There's a price drop here. Looks like a nice value with ONVIF support, and it uses H.265 codec for video compression, allowing you to store more on the card.

H265 makes them not ideal for Home Assistant (Frigate).
    Yoshi123's avatar
    Why is that?

Wonder if they have gone out of business hence the low price. They were £100+ when they came out? Youtube comments indicate there is no customer service support a year ago (edited)

Does anyone know if this can be saved via wireless to hard drive in the home using blue tooth as example. Can you by "widget" for this function?
    CroMoly's avatar
No blu tooth on any of these types of camera afaik.. i have 4 x camhi CCTV (very similar)

If you wanted to save to hard drive youd be best off maybe using freeware like ispy and saving to hard drive.. connected via ethernet for stability.

    I might be wrong but....

Or just use the sd card on the camera for storage and a phone or tablet or pc.. but again ethernet for stability..

Just need an app to view the camera and a power cable?
    CroMoly's avatar
It cones with DC power adapter and you download the app

HOW is this powered? Thanks. (edited)

This was listed a couple of weeks ago at £20
    hotukdeals.com/sha…878

    Guess they're clearing them out.

I got one and it come with mains cable, although a bit awkward to plug in outside due to an ethernet port and switch on the same cable.

Haven't got it working with home assistant yet, but works without a cave hub using (a questionable) third party app "cameye3"

I've bought various tech products from MyMemory over the years often with free or just. 99p delivery from Jersey. Never had a problem. Can take typical 7 days for the product to arrive. (edited)

Does anyone know if you can boot this up and configure it with the app without there being a micro-sd card inserted? Have tried without a card but when I power it on the green light on the front does not flash to indicate it is in pairing mode. Tried pressing reset for 10 secs and it makes a noise which I guess is the reset occuring but still no green light and get the "failed" message when scanning the qr-code. Thanks!

No. They're useless. Take it from a geek who's been breaking and repairing computers for 36 years, these are junk. Contact support and get a refund or RMA.

They are functionally useless. That's why they're being tossed out at 12% of the listed price.

How are these powered does anyone know?

If it's anything like the hundreds of other IP cameras it will probably come with a mains to 12v adapter plug. The adapter plug has a 6-9' wire with a connector on the end. You need to plug this connector into a 6" wire that dangles out of the back of the camera (along with an ethernet socket and a reset switch). So you would need to extend this wire if you want to place the camera more than. 6' away from the nearest mains socket.

I started with these types of security cameras about 10 years ago. Frankly they are toys really. It's difficult to make out faces in the daylight and at night all you see are blurry white ghosts.

However, with a little imagination, I used one as a Bird Box camera for several years and it works great.52628385-oc1f1.jpg

Under £30 for an outdoor 1080p camera with ONVIF and H.265 and a 128GB microSD is worth a punt. Can't find a confirmation of how well it integrates with HomeAssistant but happy to get something recorded after a few local breakins.

Anyone know if I can use this on my home network with open ports for an third party app like IpCam viewer or similar ? All my old Wansview/Wanscam cams are slowly dying after years of use but they're pretty good as the APP give me instant real time views using widgets on android without having to access blink/yale APPS etc. which seem to take some time to get a real time view.

Hmm, it seems not after a bit of digging, looks lie it needs the hub.

I cant seem to find those old web-interface cams from yesteryear any more - they were rather good if you have a fixed IP. (edited)

You can use ispy and such with this camera snd most ip cctv cameras out there. so ipcam should also work..

I can do exactly what you state using the app recommended for my cameras (camhi) and pc based ispy... Pretty much all sd card based cameras allow real time monitoring and dozens of other features with their apps..

When it arrives can you let me know how easy it is to set up and how good a quality the recordings are please

Sorry if I'm being daft but does this require a cave smart hub to be fully functional ? It's advertised as being an accessory to the smart hub . :/

    manual here: support.veho-world.com/wp-…pdf

    Before pairing the Cave
    camera with your Cave Smart
    Hub please read the following.
    Ensure the camera and Smart
Hub is within range of the mobile
device which you use to access
    the Cave app.
    You will need your router
    username and password to
    hand.
    IMPORTANT: Only use the
    supplied power cable with the
    camera and a compatible power
source. Failure to do so may
    invalidate your warranty

Might need a smart hub? It says ONVIF compatible though.

Suggests it may come with a PSU but doesn't specify
    CroMoly's avatar
well.. that's why I am a little hesitant with my advice.. I presumed these can be used with the proprietary app or freeware like ispy without the hub...

but again, my advice is that you can find better cameras than this for 1-10 quid more or even the same price in offers e.g. camhi, iegeek, zosi, septekon.. cameras with colour night vision, intruder lights, 2 way audio.. better looking cameras also...

Looks a good camera but how long the battery lasts?
  16. John_Quinn13's avatar
Doss it have a battery installed??
  17. gavin1's avatar
Anyone know if it can stream directly to YouTube???
  18. Yoshi123's avatar
    Does it do RTSP?
  19. gtd65's avatar
I'm trying to set up the camera but each time I scan the QR it gives a "failed" error?
    greg.blatchford's avatar
Yep. Bought two, opened one, iterated, all give the same message. Totally useless e-waste.
  20. greg.blatchford's avatar
Utter utter junk. Won't connect via wifi or ethernet. Instructions followed and exhaustively iterated, still fail to connect.

Total waste of time. DO NOT BUY

RMA straight back to Jersey. If they make it difficult then it will become very public and very messy. I really dont like it when bad product is offloaded with such a bad faith loss leader. (edited)
