Must be going through a midlife crisis. My first console at 47 year old!!! Now just need to find a deal on another controller and figure out how to get Gamepass cheap.

Or you don't buy games and just play whatever Gamepass has. Gamepass has saved me thousands not buying games lol.
  3. stingersplash's avatar
Cracking price but I'm happy sticking with my One S for now. This newest generation I just can't justify moving to.
    KayinAmoh's avatar
It's good you're happy with the One S, but performance wise the Series S absolutely wrecks it. Not just graphically, once you see the quality of life difference in stuff like loading times, quick resume etc it's hard to go back.

Well, unless you only play a few games you're happy with that load quickly. Not much point upgrading if that's the case. (And it does still have a few graphical issues when compared directly to the Series X, but you're not getting that for £150 at the moment!)

Careful with refurbished Series S consoles, I bought and returned one that had overheating/rebooting issues.
    chezybezy's avatar
    That was my concern. Thanks.
  5. Brad_Parkinson's avatar
Does it come with a controller?
    awesomegiles26's avatar
Bundle includes: Xbox Series S console, one Xbox Wireless Controller, a high-speed HDMI cable, power cable, and 2 AA batteries
  6. Sukh92's avatar
Just received, its like brand new, not even a scratch on the console or controller. Hopefully everything else its fine
  7. shizola's avatar
Is it still possible to do the 3 year xbox live to gamepass trick?
    D3P0's avatar
no, MS changed the conversion rate after the price hike, instead 1:1 now is 3:2
  8. bwmxyz's avatar
Is this cheap because you're forced into either taking out GPU (which objectively / subjectively doesn't seem great) or paying through the nose for games off Microsoft store?

Feedback appreciated as I'm tempted by this to replace my gen 1 PS4, but I appreciate how easy it is to get games cheap for that console.
    Sukh92's avatar
Console is good if you playing games up to 1440p, if you want 4k then this console its not good.
For the games found out you can buy keys from argentina/turkey stores with vpn so they are very very cheap, plus you have the game pass.
  9. CalamityJames's avatar
Excellent deal - ordered for the other half. If they accept the trade in too (£71 for a One S 1TB, which beats CeX) then that's only £78 for a quite a considerable upgrade!
    EN1GMA's avatar
    What trade in is that?
  10. telboy69's avatar
For the casual gamer, get this, then 3 years game pass ultimate with a Turkish VPN for approx £100 ,£250 spent.Bargain
    camb's avatar
I did 2 years and 3 months and paid closer to 50 pounds. That was a few years back though and I used the xbox live gold conversion trick which lowers the price even more. Not sure if that still exists.
  11. MRA4355's avatar
Just got mine with just one minor dent on the box, otherwise was factory sealed and everything inside was brand new sealed. Pleasantly surprised
  12. huevox's avatar
Can emulators still be installed on this one?
    shizola's avatar
    Yes.
  13. chrish22022's avatar
What a dead console to be this price for a refurbished model already.
    Smoggy1970's avatar
    What's dead?
  14. ZASE_'s avatar
Do these come with the official boxes etc?
    awesomegiles26's avatar
Sure it comes in one that says 'refurbished'
  15. Paul_Cooper84's avatar
Wasn’t sure on this after seeing it on Amazon. With it saying ‘console only’ but some in the comments here clarified it came with a controller.

Ordered to be delivered at work so the wife is non the wiser.

    Thanks OP
    Morris77's avatar
I'm wondering the same with it saying 'console only' at the top but listed as coming with a controller further down...
  16. MoogleV's avatar
Am I missing something? It's £203.34 for me!
    greencode's avatar
You have to be a prime member to see this price. The price you’re looking at is a used like new price
  17. ck12111's avatar
How's the quality of these refurb deliveries?
    PunkRonin's avatar
Mine arrived today. Comes in a box with refurbished written on it. Other than a few dents on the packaging everything was like new. No noticeable marks or damage on the machine/controller and all works perfectly.
  18. camb's avatar
I dunno how these things are so cheap and yet aren't selling like hotcakes. The series S is a solid console.
    nickroll's avatar
Games. PS5 and Switch sales are miles ahead because they have quality exclusives. You can only get so far on value before people realise they're being served up Redfall when everyone else is playing Zelda and FF16.

    Worldwide aligned-launch sales:

Thanks OP, 150£ nowdays are nothing for a gaming console. Already have a 3 year gamepass so plenty of games to play.
  20. Zanza's avatar
but how worse is the performance exactly against the series x?
    mattymofo's avatar
Depends on the game and your TV really. If you want full fat 4k this isn't the machine for you. If you want to play games like starfield at 1440p then this is the way to go. At £150 this is a no brainer as a game pass machine.
  21. TheCostOfLies's avatar
Unbelievable value. The performance Vs cost is completely unmatched on any platform. Ridiculous bargain
  22. adsthompson's avatar
Ffs I hate this site. Purchased. You spend my money more than my wife
  23. Pogsta's avatar
I bought this for £149.99 on last year’s Prime Day… it was in perfect condition!
  24. DirtyQwerty's avatar
Shame there's nothing on the X
  25. OllieFTH's avatar
I do think these are great for casual gamers and if you are like me, have kids that have started dabbling in gaming it’s a good Minecraft/Fortnite machine. £150 plus a few years of cheap stacked Turkey GPU you will probably save a lot of money buying them games in the long run.

But for me, I don’t see the point in owning an Xbox outside of that if you are serious about gaming. The only decent exclusive I’ve seen in recent memory is Starfield, but I can play that on my PC with GPU.

I tend to utilise PS5 for AAA and Sony exclusives, Switch for on the move Nintendo exclusives and indie games and then I have a decent laptop for PC gaming and to pick up the rare Xbox GPU exclusive.

    Heat for the price though!
    ck12111's avatar
How do you do the cheap stacked GPU stuff?
  26. sparkzilla's avatar
I have been waiting for prime day to buy another xbox controller, instead I've purchased an xbox
  27. MRA4355's avatar
Thanks OP. Couldn’t resist at this price!
    creepyg's avatar
Agreed, almost rude not to. Hopefully another official MS refurb like the One X I bought from Amazon a few years back.
  28. Nick747a's avatar
The crazy thing is the 1tb expansion card is the same price, was hoping that go on sale to. Great machine had for couple years
  29. D3P0's avatar
I mean, I was really considering buying one of this, but I went for a shield pro 2019 not feeling the need anymore, xcloud and geforce now ultimate pretty enough
    EN1GMA's avatar
i love xcloud too. how you finding geforce now? you buy the games on steam and then connect your account?
  30. Silent_wispa's avatar
Tempting. I got one a good couple of months ago for a little bit more and it was brand new.
  31. Karl_Hunt's avatar
Took a punt. My boy has been saving his own money for one and now can get the Xbox and a wireless headset.
  32. LGB87's avatar
Recently sold my Series X as couldn’t justify it alongside PS5, but this seems perfect for a bedroom
Xbox and can easily be moved around the house (Especially while I have 3 years Gamepass stacked).. £130 after a few vouchers I had and discounts from Amazon (edited)
    DocDisrespect's avatar
Plus you’ll have access to the AAA games once they’re released by MS.

Love my series S and PS5 combo
  33. ruairi's avatar
Should I go for this for Starfield, or a used Xbox Series X at this point? I'm wanting to buy a cheap xbox, play the game, and sell it on
  34. DocDisrespect's avatar
Solid console and will be even better once Microsoft pull their finger out and start releasing decent games on Game Pass.

4 years and waiting no decent games on Game Pass to compliment this console.

    Heat OP.
    AreOhBe85's avatar
No decent games? Isn't that subjective
  35. MaybeMaverick's avatar
Good deal, waiting for starfield and it's reviews to come out before I get one.
    nickroll's avatar
Sensible, especially with it being locked to 30fps on console.
  36. ronray's avatar
It looks like I can get around £30 trade-in for an Xbox 360 that has been gathering dust. Very temping.
    italkapple's avatar
Not every 360 game is available on the marketplaces and some have been delisted. If you don't care for games that aren't on the backwards compatibility list, then it makes sense.

  37. creepyg's avatar
Cheers op. Received today and all mint inside. Controller wasn't paired to the console but that's literally a nothing to sort.

Really is a tiny thing isn't it? Got mine tucked away on my desk's bottom shelf. Ideal for when I'm 'working late'... (edited)
  38. beatrixkiddo79's avatar
Very happy with mine. It came in an official refurbished xbox box and everything was packaged like it was new. Controller looks like it's not been touched. Won't be setting it up just yet as it's a christmas present but I'm chuffed. Thanks OP
    italkapple's avatar
If it’s going to be a Xmas present, personal I’d return it. The new black Series S 1tb for £299 RRP comes out in September. Which means the the 512Gb new will drop even lower than this. If you buy Black Friday etc you’ll have more warranty compared to only have 6 months on the certified refurbished one.

Microsoft certified refurbished you can’t go wrong with though.
  39. nzadok's avatar
Got one a few weeks ago for a casual game pass machine in the living room , looks great on a 65" oled ,is silent and small enough to be hidden away
  40. herrbz's avatar
Golly, is this even cheaper than last year? Excellent price.
    ceph042_'s avatar
IIRC on Black Friday it was £189.99 brand new. People went crazy for that.. for £149.99 Amazon refurbished you can't go wrong.
