”Yamaha's latest mid-priced AV receiver promises—and delivers—cutting-edge features at an unprecedented price.”
’Sound & Vision’ – Top Pick.

Dolby Atmos and DTS:X for three-dimensional sound

Dolby Atmos and DTS:X use ceiling or up-firing speakers for three-dimensional and fully immersive sound. Whether it’s rain falling in a tropical jungle or the intense sound of overhead gunfire, Dolby Atmos and DTS:X put you in the centre of the action. DTS Neural:X offers an even more immersive sound, with a heightened sense of realism.

Dolby Atmos Height Virtualization for extra height, without the speakers*
As impressive as Dolby Atmos and DTS:X sound, it’s not always possible to accommodate the extra speakers. Dolby Atmos Height Virtualization technology goes some way to help. Play any Dolby format and enjoy a more immersive sound with virtual height enhancement – using your existing speakers to deliver an enhanced sound. *via firmware update.

Compatible with the next generation of high resolution – 8K*
Featuring a trio of 8K compliant HDMI inputs and matching output, this Yamaha AVR is ready for the next generation of TV. If you’ve not yet made the jump to 8K TV, the sockets also handles up to 4K/120Hz signals, for the highest quality pass through. Upscaling to UHD 4K is also standard. *via firmware update.

Supports Dolby Vision and HDR10+*
Using a 7/1 (in/out) HDMI interface, the RX-V6A supports your full system. It also supports a wide range of High Dynamic Range video formats. These include Dolby Vision, HDR10 and HLG. It also supports HDR10+, which enhances picture realism by sending dynamic Meta data to your TV. *via firmware update.

Game on*
The latest HDMI support also marks a big improvement in gaming. 4K/120Hz and VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) support maximise resolution and clarity. Quick Frame Transport (QFT) and Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) help eliminate lag and frame tearing, giving you a smoother, more responsive gaming experience. *via firmware update.

Powerful precision
For precise, dynamic sound, the Yamaha RX-V6A uses a powerful, 100 watts, high slew rate amplifier. Ideal for HiRes music and home cinema, the amp powers your music or soundtracks with gusto – keeping you on the edge of your seat during action movies or gaming, and totally bewitched by your favourite music. This design of amplifier can be tricky to optimise, but Yamaha’s unique design achieves dynamic scale while also maintaining a stable signal transmission.

Surround sound, untied
For an easy way to reduce cabling, the RX-V6A offers the option of wireless rear speakers. Combine this receiver with the Yamaha MusicCast 20 or MusicCast 50 speakers and you can leave aside speaker cable connections. Perfect if you have a solid floor and struggle to hide speaker cable or if you simply want a cleaner style, wireless surround speakers cut down on the clutter.

Connect more – including a turntable
As well as seven HDMI inputs, this Yamaha AVR also has a wide range of other AV connectivity. Optical coaxial digital inputs are ideal for connecting older devices or upgrading the sound from a compatible CD/Network player. Three analogue inputs are perfect for Hi-Fi components, with the dedicated MM phono input perfect for plugging in a turntable. The Zone 2 output gives you the option of adding a second pair of speakers in another room.

MusicCast for music all around your home
The Yamaha RX-V6A is part of Yamaha's hugely impressive network audio system, MusicCast. With MusicCast you control all your compatible Yamaha MusicCast products via your smartphone or even Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant by voice*. Play the same music on all the components or split the sound into different zones for different moods in each room; the choice is yours. The MusicCast CONTROLLER app lets you operate the system around your home and change settings quickly and easily. *requires third party Alexa or Google device.

Stream the best music services
Compatible with Amazon Music, Spotify Premium, Pandora, Napster, Tidal, Deezer and Qobuz, the RXV6A is fully equipped for your favourite music streaming service. With Tidal and Qobuz already offering higher resolution playback, it’s now possible to find a streaming service that at least matches the quality of CD and, in some cases, even improves upon it.

Advanced networking including Apple AirPlay and Bluetooth
As well as MusicCast, the RX-V6A is also compatible with Apple AirPlay 2, letting you stream music from your Apple iPod Touch, iPhone, iPad or other compatible Apple device, wirelessly, around your home. Just ask Siri where you want the music to play. For a quick and easy connection with your smartphone, use the Bluetooth connection for easy music streaming.

Sleek new style
If you’re used to AV receivers being all bulk and buttons, the RX-V6A will come as a pleasant surprise. Rounded edges give a softer, less imposing style. Yamaha has also kept the button count to a minimum, giving this AVR a much cleaner and fresher aesthetic.

Become fully enveloped in the sound, with the Yamaha RX-V6A.

Built to withstand the toughest workout with motivating sound to match, the Yamaha TW-ES5A sport earbuds are made for an active life.

Sound to move you
Where better to hear Yamaha’s legendary audio performance than when active or on the move. Whether you’re at the gym, running, rowing or just working out at home, the Yamaha TW-ES5A earphones provide just the sound you seek. Using a nozzle system, the sound from the driver is directed precisely to your ear, giving incredible drive and clarity. Punchy, dynamic sound keeps you motivated.

Secure fit for music on the move
Supplied with four sizes of silicon fins, the TW-ES5As stay in place – whatever your ear size. For extra comfort, the earphones also come with five sizes of eartips (XS/S/M/L/XL). When combined with the ergonomic style, they not only stay secure but fit with long-lasting comfort, too.

Built tougher
With an IPX7 water resistant rating, the Yamaha TW-ES7As are even tougher than the rest of the TW-E range. The IPX7 rating means that the headphones can survive being submerged in up to 1 metre of water for up to 30 minutes. This makes the sweatiest workout easy for these durable earphones.

Stay aware with Ambient Sound
Adjustable Ambient Sound control lets you hear more of the outside world when you want to. Using the built-in microphone, outside noise is introduced into your hearing, keeping you aware of your surroundings. Fully adjustable, you can switch it off when on the move and just want to zone out, or on when you’re walking through a busy city or need to listen out for travel announcements. The choice is yours.

Unique, Listening Care
Yamaha’s unique Listening Care technology takes into account music’s softened dynamics when listening at low volumes. The apparent lack of bass and top-end sparkle can lead us to turning up the volume higher than we should, potentially causing long-term hearing damage. Listening Care corrects the sound balance, giving an optimal balance that varies according to the volume.

Power through your day – with up to 34 hours battery life
Up to 9 hours battery life is enough to keep the TW-ES5B’s going for far longer than most sports, wireless earphones. Once flat, simply pop them in the case and get further recharges – giving a total of up to 34 hours playback time.

Voice assistant – Siri and Google compatible
Featuring Siri and Google Assistant voice compatibility, these earphones make the perfect upgrade for your smartphone. You’ll not only gain a big step-up in sound quality, but also the full functionality you’d expect from your Apple iOS or Android smartphone. Need to take a call, find music or check directions? Just ask Siri or Google.

App control
Download the free Yamaha Headphones Controller app (available for Apple iOS and Android), and take full control. Features include Listening Care and Ambient Sound settings, plus a handy power-off timer.

Choose your style
A striking range of colours makes these earphones stand out from the crowd. Choose from shades of white, pink, blue, green or black, for the colour that best matches your style.

Hear the perfect soundtrack to your workout, with the Yamaha TW-ES5A.

I have a A2A which is effectively this but with an extra foot and a detachable cable + very minor upgrade on some of the transistors. This is a great amp and IMO miles better than the denons at this price range. I even tried a denon in my house before sending back and replacing with a Yamaha. Music, films - everything sounds better and more defined with the Yamaha and less crunchy and compressed sounding than the denon. Can't recommend enough, but only issue is £550 is a bit more than I used to be and that £450 was the going price about 3 years ago, but times have changed I expect...

looks good but judging by a quick search online, everyone seems to suggest your better getting a denon X1700H over this.

The X1700h has been replaced by the X1800h now which is £600. Though if you can find the X1700h at a similar price then it would be a good buy.

This does sound better than my old Onkyo 676e and doesn't have the irritating click every hour or so! Though the setup is better on the Onkyo. So win some, lose some.

I have a really odd situation where I can’t use my 5.1 setup at the moment because I have a toddler. Instead I’m using a Sonos beam gen 2 until he’s old enough to understand “don’t rip the speakers off the wall”. However I want to use it conjunction with am AV receiver as I have loads of devices e.g. consoles. Ideally I need six hdmi inputs to a beam gen 2. I’ve tried hdmi switchers and they’re kind-of-OK but not ideal. Is there some Frankenstein solution where I can use an AV receiver to route audio to a tv then back to a Sonos with earc, or straight out of an AV receiver on an earc hdmi monitor output? Etc etc. I realise this is a weird request!

You should be able to connect all inputs to an AV amp, then connect sonos to the TV eArc HDMI and the output of the amp to one of the other hdmi ports and tell tv to output sound to the eArc.

    Very expensive switch obviously! 😁
