50115959-feBni.jpgmanaged to claim the 1 year of free disney plus . Go to samsung.com/uk/…ey/ on the samsung web browser on the phone. The code should have expired according to the screenshot but worked fine. Also managed to claim the free case and pen 50115959-pSBd6.jpg (edited)

Have you actually received the case already or just submitted the claim?

My claim was rejected initially after a 2 day wait.

I may have just doctored the giffgaff invoice removing the 'refurbished like new' from the invoice. Filled in the IMEI number under SM-F936B-OTHER, submitted it and it was approved in minutes.

May have been lucky but apparently my kit will be here in a couple of days 😁

Oh and all edited on my folded out Fold4; the irony (edited)

    Thanks for the tip

My first claim was rejected too but this one was approved immediately

Does anyone has any experience with giffgaff warranty? Having 24 months is really nice, but the question is whether this covers issues with the screen and hinge, such as fixed pixels, stuck hinge etc....

I bought a refurbished Fold3 last year which came without the inner screen protector. I called Samsung up and told them the protector had peeled and asked if they would replace it which they said no problem. They sent out DPD to collect it, fitted a new protector and sent it back out through DPD. At no point was I asked where or when was it purchased. I think because they know the phone is under 2 years old then they automatically will carry out warranty work.

I also had a Samsung Fit2 fitness band fail in a swimming pool. As it's supposed to be waterproof to a certain depth I filled out a form online and again they sent out DPD to collect and return without ever asking for proof or purchase.

I would certainly contact Samsung before GiffGaff if I had any issues.

Just received mine in beige color.
Packaging is ridiculous, it could easily scratch the phone.

Cosmetically it's immaculate, no signs of use, and stickers still on side of the phone.
According to IMEI check warranty is until 7.2024, but AFAIK it doesn't matter being refurbished as the warranty is through giffgaff only.

Phone had 0% battery and was still on a very early software. This makes me think it wasn't used for months as I installed 3 software updates.
I'll try to find a way to check battery charging cycle counts to check actual usage of the phone.
EDIT - following the adb command "adb shell dumpsys battery", the battery seems to be brand new, I don't know if the device is really new or simply the battery has been replaced.

Now I'm just waiting for a cover and screen protector from Amazon to start using it (edited)
    MustangGT500's avatar
Could you let me know which app you use to check your battery please? Thanks
  5. junaidi2006's avatar
Do you install a screen protection to the internal screen? If so I'd welcome any suggestions
    steluca5's avatar
If you look it should already have a factory one on. It's very thin, do not peel it off it only needs this on in order to work correctly.

50158349-xPJWa.jpgTook my damaged Fold4 to Samsung store at Trafford Park, explained my issues and showed them the damage. Unfortunately because of the damage it won't be covered by the warranty and if I were to use the phone as per usual the phone would be more prone to failing. Great job GiffGaff.

Just a heads up if anyone has one that's damaged like mine. (edited)

I have to say a thank you to MrSwitch for posting and for all the helpful comments in this thread.

It was a fantastic price, and so far am very happy I made the purchase.

Coming from the S22U, really impressed with the performance of this device, in all aspects apart from the camera and the increase in weight. But I can live with the camera, and have ordered a slimmer case, and hope that might make it feel less heavy. Battery is also less, but I took that as a given anyway.

Having it a week now, I started using the front screen more at the start, but over the last few days, enjoying the use of the inner display, especially having multiple apps open.

Dual sim reception and call quality has been better for me than the S22U, and strangely the bluetooth connection has been more reliable and worked over a longer distance.
    leeh88's avatar
I have come from a Pixel 6 and I actually think the cameras hold their own so I can live with it too. Also put Gcam on it for some Pixel goodness.

To also add; Expert Raw has just gained Astrophotography support, the shot a few comments down on this Reddit thread is sublime!

Just need to check the battery health and then sell my old phone.

    Update on giffgaff. "
The phone is damaged due to the crack on the screen; any physical damage voids the phones standard manufacturer warranty. Therefore, we can only advise on a chargeable repair. We cannot provide a quote of the cost as the phone requires inspection, before a quote can be given.

If you would like to book the repair see below:

You'll be charged a fee for assessing the phone's problem £15.00
We'll send you a quote for a repair
You have the choice to pay the repair cost "

I just think this is so unfair because I've not physically done anything to the device outside of just opening the screen. This Obviously a very common issue with all foldables and it isn't always down to user error
    TheDodger's avatar
Giffgaff have changed their tune a little bit after I mentioned how I think theyve made the wrong decision "Sorry about the information in the last reply. Please follow the below information to book your return.

If your device develops a fault during your handsets warranty period (after the first 30 days of receipt) you can request a free of charge repair for up to 24 months. The phone would need returned to be inspected and would require to be booked in online and returned via the post office. "

I had an s21u, then bought a pixel 7 pro along with the fold 4 (for £830 like new and 2 year Samsung warranty). Then returned the pixel.

The most fun phone I've ever had, with only a couple of disappointing features. Cannot use the wide angle lens on video higher than 30fps was one.
The inside screen protector is weak as anything and I got scratches right away. Samsung does one free replacement.

For everything else, it's an amazing phone.
  16. junaidi2006's avatar
Would these be covered by the samsung warranty?

Mine has been shipped and it arriving this afternoon - well excited

Anyone know any good (relatively cheap) cases for the Fold?
  19. Simon_WarnerIK6's avatar
Mine arrived this morning. It looks new with plastic still on sides. No screen protector to front though not sure if it comes with one. No temporary protector to front either and considering Giffgaff terrible packaging it should have. Just a usb cable with it, no SIM pin.

Warranty until September 2024 so not new. Battery was completely dead so not been used for some time so not sure how Giffgaff checked it lol.

Not sure if Samsung will honour the remaining warranty if I register it either.
    deleted2893310's avatar
Similar here. How did you manage to find out when your warranty ends? I keep going round in a loop.

Managed to grab a beige one!
I've been visiting the page a few times a day, I saw 6 left in stock, and by the time I completed the order they were all gone.
I never thought I'd buy the beige color, but it will be in a case anyway and I really like the hinge color.

Any recommendations for a slim and high quality cover?

DPD app still says will be delivered between 13:25 and 14:25 when the phone was actually delivered at 12:00 🤷🏽‍♂️

Anyways, phone is immaculate, as others no screen protector on front but sides still have stickers on them.

Warranty using link posted here says warranty until Nov 2024. Applied for the Note starter pack but didn't recognise the IMEI, had to send a screenshot of About Phone screen, hopefully it'll be approved.

My Fold2 already had a broken front screen, so great upgrade esp with 24 month warranty, though over the 2.5 ywars owning the Fold2 only needed to send it to replace peeling screen protector, even though it'sbeen dropped countless times. Hoping for similar longevity from this one 😁
    Jemmers99's avatar
Basically the same as me and same with the IMEI on claiming the pack, fingers crossed!

Got a bit lucky with the warranty it runs until end of Jan 2025. Do you know what exactly that will cover though? Worth getting additional insurance?
  27. Tatts584's avatar
Hi all. I got the below screen protector for my front screen and I love it. It feels great and the fitting guide makes it easy to put on. It's very bad for the environment with the waste that's the main downside!

Mine arrived looks brand new with the plastic still on the sides like other people stated. The beige colour is lighter than expected which is a plus, it beats my Mystic Bronze (Pink) Fold 2. Really happy with it just waiting for a case to arrive tomorrow from amazon

Got my despatch email yesterday saying will be delivered on Tuesday, but this morning received DPD text saying it will be today.
    yiu's avatar
Just delivered. I'm a bit disappointed that the phone didn't even come in a proper box, just a folding Giff Gaff cardboard which is folded over the phone. No protection whatsoever. The SIM ejector tool was also loose in there. Not sure if it's scratched the screen yet. Need to check better.

From first inspection, it does look pristine but it didn't have the screen stickers on. Just the edge protection stickers. Need to charge to test properly. Still amazing price!!!

Got my black fold today, looks brand new not a single mark on it and still had the protective film on the sides.

I do think they should put it in a cloth wrapper for their shipping as there was a fair bit or cardboard fibers but a clean cloth got rid of it all, Google ship their phones like this and its perfect.

Imei check shows my phone was made December 2022 and warranty till Dec 2024(via samsung). So not old and perfect condition, the discount compared to new is insane so thanks for posting.

Managed to claim the starter pack and 12 month Disney+, also topcashback £25!

Very impressed by the form factor, love having a phone that feels comfortable to hold in one hand (folded). Only small niggle is the underscreen camera is a tad annoying when displaying white but it's livable and that's just the quirk of the device.

Now to find the best place to trade in my p7p.

After seeing some of the comments on here, I decided to give my handset a proper close up inspection. I had a quick look on Friday night when it arrived but assumed because there were some sticky side protectors on the phone then it would be fine. I've also not used it as I was waiting for a case and front screen protector to arrive.

It turns out I have multiple scratches which I'm not happy about. Yes I could put on a case and not see them but because they are scuffed at the corner it looks like it could have been dropped and that's potentially a big problem for Samsung when it comes to warranty issues with the screen.

I'm gutted because I thought I was getting a 'like new' condition handset. I'm going to have to return it and hope more stock arrives so I can reorder.

I agree with you if you asked me to grade that, I would put that as good condition (grade b maybe even grade C)

For me "like new" is basically saying. Its been opened but not used, and definitely not scratched
