Not been to the gym much & worried about looking stupid & not knowing how to use machines. Is there any gym induction or indication how to use the machines?
    tonyawesome69's avatar
    Author
Look online for a local Puregym and have a look at the induction classes they have available. The classes are included in the £1 day pass.

    Example below for tomorrow:

*UPDATE* SEEMS PUREGYM ARE TAKING DOWN MY REVIEW FOR TELLING THE TRUTH SO I'LL KEEP POSTING

I've been a member for many years. I have always rated the gym highly and had no real issues at all.

I had 2 months off and just gone back

It has really gone downhill with the penny pinching unfortunately.

They have turned the air conditioning near enough totally off to the point it is now useless.

They have made the showers cold and reduced the flow to a trickle. I hate this most of all as I like to have a hot (even warm) shower to get clean after a long workout. Cold doesn't cut it to get clean and you come out shivering.

Music and TVs have been turned off. I actually prefer this as I hate the repetitive music and idiotic puregym announcements.

This has been rolled out across the group apparently to save money. To rub salt in the wound they have recently upped the membership costs as well.

Its a shame but please take this as a warning

Honestly an awful gym chain. Avoid at all costs.

Once had some meat heads threaten me cause they wanted to use the squat rack. Stood my ground. Spoke to staff who did nothing about it. Absolute hole of a place.

    Definitely avoid whether you’re a beginner or a a seasoned gym-goer.

How can a day pass be worth£15.99
    HSunny's avatar
    It's ridiculous that it's even worth 7.99 / 14.99.

I recently bought a 3 day pass when I was traveling in Europe for less than 7 Euros, and the facilities were significantly better. (edited)

Handy as Thursday is one of my days in the office and there's a PureGym around the corner

Any way of getting o2 priority without being an o2 or VM customer? I cancelled my VM contract..
    maizipops's avatar
You could get a spare O2 pay as you go sim, you do need to top up min £10 to activate it and use it every so often to keep it active. Might be worth it if you use a lot of their offers... maybe not if it's just for this one.

Got a £1 gym pass from O2 back in May, and ended up enjoying it so much that I signed up to be a member and even changed my diet too. Managed to lose 20 lbs so far and I'm the fittest I've been in 15 years. Best £1 I ever spent
    DaftDad's avatar
    Well done mate!
  14. KageCom's avatar
Handy, I can work off those free Greggs sausage rolls!
    anaxom's avatar
Free Gregg's sausage rolls from o2 comes to an end in 11 September anyway.
  15. Tuta's avatar
Great offer, O2 Priority coming back in style. Don't really need this as I attend an independent gym but would be good to join mates sometimes without having to commit to a whole subscription with PG. Thanks for posting OP
  16. DaftDad's avatar
For existing PureGym members, it's worth noting that you can also get 4 day passes for £4/month as a bolt on. It's supposed to be the same person who uses all of them and it may be location specific, but it offers more flexibility than this deal. Heat anyway, I think it's a reasonable gym chain for the money.
    Wakawaka123's avatar
    Nice I'll look into this!
  17. MikeWBA's avatar
Does anyone know how long this offer is on for? Don’t want to commit to something that will finish in a few weeks
    Postmanmick's avatar
Worth mentioning that members who have multigym membership can add a buddy and this entitles them to 4 free visits each month.
  18. TheOak's avatar
This has been on priority for ages?
    TheHoss's avatar
    Not everyone may be aware?
  19. JayDisney's avatar
Remind me to avoid the gym on thursdays from now on.
  20. RT1981's avatar
One near me was full of Instagram wannabe asshats hogging all the weights and was busy all the time (even at 10pm)
    MBCH's avatar
The Insta / tik tok / self promo ego crew are ruining my gym 🥲 “are you using that squat rack?” “Yeah, just let me finish my last set of bicep curls, stop the video and it’s all yours!” 😡😡 (edited)
  21. ferkh10's avatar
Is this for new members only? Do I have to create a new account every Thursday?
trying to get one for my lad but looks like it’s forcing a new account?
Not very user friendly on the app at all
    tonyawesome69's avatar

Not bad… Thursdays must be a quiet day at the gym? Lol

5000 codes given away each Thursday? Hmmm, wonder if they’ll sell out…
  25. michaeljb's avatar
There's one 5 minutes away by bike, just not sure I've got the effort for that though. Now if they had a café onsite it'd be a different question

Do pure gym patrons still nay bother wiping the equipment down after using them?
    ray966's avatar
Unfortunately yes at my local there’s probably about 10% of people that actually do bother if that
  29. zypatel's avatar
How come I can’t see this offer on the app. Is there a search function?
    tonyawesome69's avatar
    Author
Yes there is a search function in the app (Android). Also find it under Offers -> Health & Wellbeing
  30. searched74_'s avatar
Isn't this a one time use? Meaning, you have to create a new account every single week you use it?
    lucifercalling's avatar
Yes, it’s a one time use. One use on a Thursday. Then it re-sets. And next Thursday, becomes available again. Just like for instance, the Pizza Hut codes that reset every week.
  31. Rozkurwiacz's avatar
Most central London locations excluded, not nice at all
  32. XBargainHunter007's avatar
    I have 2 to trade.
  33. jaizan's avatar
Monthly membership at £15.99 seems quite reasonable. Barely over 50p a day.

For comparison, The Gym Group charge £19.99 per month and that company is forecast to make losses in 2023, 24 and 2025. So it's not a money spinner.

Or compare with (say) Thailand, where everything should be cheaper, yet even some very rough gym wants £22.70 per month (1000 baht).
  34. ApplePie_'s avatar
I have 3 codes to trade if anyone is interested?
  35. TheCostOfLies's avatar
    What a brilliant deal
  36. simonmullan's avatar
Just purchased one. Do I have to use it today or can I use it next Thursday?
    Jukesy224's avatar
for use today only upto 11.59pm
  37. jederer's avatar
PureGym is always packed and will be even more packed on a Thursday now I'd expect
    BodisBest's avatar
All pure gyms or just the one you've been to?
  38. GenuWhine's avatar
Do they have Saunas and pools?
    billy.bronco's avatar
    Lol..these are just basic gyms..
  39. westwest's avatar
Can I have one spare code in case someone doesn’t want to waste it?
