Just shown up on my Subway app this morning, any footlong for £4.99 when you scan your Subcard. Includes anything from their new Submelts menu.

Participating stores only. Usually my local Subway isn't included in these deals but the list of participating stores seems a lot longer than usual, so worth a look even if you can't usually claim these. Full list of participating stores is available here.

Happy subbing!

“With regards to the size of the bread and calling it a footlong, 'Subway Footlong' is a registered trademark as a descriptive name for the sub sold in Subway Restaurants and not intended to be a measurement of length."
    bargainhunter2409's avatar
Yeah it's just like an inch in a man's mind compared to the woman's , the sandwich is never as big as you think it is.

    1 per account
    bargainhunter2409's avatar
Open several accounts , I have 4 and just screenshot the qr code on each one so I don't look dodgy and hold the qué up logging into each one especially as it makes you log in by entering a unique code sent to that email which sometimes takes forever to come through lol I don't use it anymore though too expensive even with deals . This is what I used to do.

anyone found Subways constantly refusing to accept payment by points because "their system doesn't work"?
    5YLH3T's avatar
Don’t tell them you’re paying by points until the end and if they’re system ain’t working tell them you don’t have an alternative payment method
  4. shak's avatar
Order first then pay. If they don’t accept the deal walk out. Done it loads of times.

Just go in and say "do you do the £4.99 foot long offer?". (edited)

The price of subway is ridiculous now but this is a good deal. In my head a fiver was always the standard price for a foot long and a drink but that was probably 20 years ago

Proof for those that requested it that the £10 6" meal deal does exist. Yes, there are cheaper options, but if you want 3 lots of this particular combo then you'll be paying £30, which confirms what @j_t1990 originally posted.
  6. bargainhunter2409's avatar
Still 5 pound for a sandwich I used to love subway , I now just go to Morrisons andmget a 3.50 salad bar tub , drink and a snack for 3.50 and collect points at the same time. Too expensive for what it is.
    herrbz's avatar
I tend not to defend giant corporations, but a footlong is about double the size of a supermarket sandwich, you get far more in it, and it's customisable. You also collect points at Subway. (edited)

.... "P.S. – this offer is only running in participating stores, so check the list below to avoid disappointment!"

Let the chaos commence, because as always with previous Subway deals even if they are on the list some venues will make all sorts of excuses not to honour any deal.. so check before you order.
    timn1993's avatar
Order it, show them the offer. If they don’t honour it then walk out.

They’ll soon change their tone when they realise they’ll have to throw your sandwich out and make a loss

    £5 for a sandwich, what a bargain.
    wickjnr's avatar
It is, isn't it? Almost a 40% discount if you get a sub that's normally £8.

And you get so much more compared to the supermarket sandwiches which are only £1 less than this.
  9. anthony69's avatar
Amazing, got to the checkout, produced the £4.99 deal on my Subway app and was told the scanner isn't working (again!) so I couldn't get the deal...

So after making a fuss he said he could type the code in after all.... so if they use that excuse get them to type the code in because they can still do it. (edited)
    RichardDouglas's avatar
It’s simple if they don’t take it don’t take the sub
  10. flang's avatar
love subway but their prices are insane!
I went recently 1 foot long, 1 six inch, 2 cookies and 2 drinks nearly £18!.

I don't know no how they stay in business, but they need to start doing a fixed price meal deal or perhaps start selling ready made sandwiches for quick grab and go.
    ryouga's avatar
Some branches do but its rare these days, in Glasgow most do the sub of the day still which currently is £3.99 with a cookie and cup drink, my local doesn't even do breakfast items anymore and no deals.
  11. general_holding's avatar
My local branch's subcard scanner will not be working for this offer, as it always magically stops working.
    thuuchoo.afia's avatar
They can type in the numbers apparently
  12. wyabcp's avatar
My local subway had blocked card scanning, you can only get points by a claim receipt... They blame it on HQ, but I reckon it's the tight retailer (edited)
  13. Glasshalfsmashed58's avatar
    Too expensive.
  14. herrbz's avatar
It's amazing how bad their app still is. Even if you click on the notification, it leads you down a dead end where it says "Claim Yours Today", which then takes you to the regular Offers tab, which...has no sign of the deal. The Messages section has a record of it, but nothing happens when you click on that either.

Without checking for this deal here afterwards, I wouldn't have known that you redeem it by scanning your QR code at the till (and then hope it actually works and they don't feign ignorance of the deal). Baffling.
    herrbz's avatar
Exciting update - I was busy and ended up going to the Subway for lunch at 3:20pm...and it was shut. Temporary reduced opening hours. What an adventure.
  15. paultonkin's avatar
All there untill you sign in and open a account the offer dissappears lol
  16. richtea-'s avatar
Obligatory member berry 1.99 sub of the day
  17. edmn's avatar
Local subway (Honiton Road Exeter) didn’t accept it, so walked out without my sandwich. 🤷‍♂️
    edmn's avatar
Side note. The app absolutely sucks.

They need to scan QR code to see offer on till.
People crying about the price lol. £8 for a massive sandwich is ok.
New subs are a bit rubbish. Best to stick to old ones and customise.
    Grazz0r's avatar
£8 gets a hot meal and a pint at the pub near me.
    I'd never pay £8 for a sandwich.
  19. Moss.b's avatar
They should be reported to asa. They advertise calories per sub, but many stores don't give the filling they are supposed to. Which means you are not meeting calory intake. When I reached out to subway, they just said upto each individuals store what they decide. Imagine if that was the case in McDonald's, and getting smaller burger patties or they half it. (edited)

How is this deal nearly 350° ?
A fiver for a sarnie seems a bit steep to me..
    jayzone1998's avatar
Footlong, so in theory 2 six inch sandwiches. Which is not a bad deal
  21. GlentoranMark's avatar
I think using apps like Deliveroo and Just-Eat are really eating into their profits. Things have got more expensive but no way prices should have doubled in 2 years. We're causing this ourselves by wanting convenience.
  22. maccalen's avatar
    Why so hot? It's a £5 sandwich.
    bargainhunter2409's avatar
Because it is made by their sandwich artists . It's a luxury sandwich 🤤
  23. ricky_kw's avatar
No idea how Subway are still in business with their prices! bit like Burger king I guess!
    jansen.lebow's avatar
Like pizza hut, like Papa John's. It baffles me how these overpriced food chains are alive lol.
  24. MattH1973's avatar
I've visited the distribution centres that deliver to Subway and all the bread (dough),meats/bacon/omelettes/sausage are all frozen. They'd freeze the salad if they could.
    CreepyZander's avatar
What did you expect for the meat? It's the safest and freshest way.
  25. Grrrrrrrrrrr's avatar
Thanks for that! That list of participating stores was fascinating - I had no idea that there were that many subway stores, especially within walking distance of here! My nearest one quite happily charges a "foot" price for two different "six inches" bought at the same time - which seems to be very fair.
    Jetaylor's avatar
Biggest fast food chain in the world by number of stores
  26. marc_handley's avatar
Yh just noticed this via an email earlier, has many have said previous way overpriced now but £4:99 is better I suppose,I'll probably grab one before expiration, thanks anyway op
  27. BrianButterfield's avatar
I just think Subway has a presentation problem with it's trying to present value. I'd introduce the 4 inch meal deal sub and try to take on Tesco, cause a 4 inch sub is about what you'd get in a standard sandwich.
    ryouga's avatar
The kids sub is 4 inches, though that isn't great value right now depends on the branch, some give multiple choices of toppings, some its just ham/turkey and some don't offer salad with the kids subs

Used to be around £2.99 for a kids sub and some branches let the kids have the full 6 inch size and with salad, a cup drink and a cookie it was a great deal.
  28. Gollywood's avatar
So it's a one time use only thing or you could use the app every day and get a foot long for £4.99? Never used the app and haven't been to a Subway for 5years+ Thanks (edited)
    ryouga's avatar
1 per account, though nothing stopping you making many accounts I think as the app seems to imply this.
  29. steven.johnsonm9G's avatar
I used to love Subway, prices + food I've got have put me off massively, I remember they randomly put the sauce on the other sub and toasted and vice versa, really random mistake. Theyre like one of the highest fast food chains still which baffles me

147 Praed St, London Paddington doesn’t participate this time
  31. Nav_A20's avatar
Most of these franchises don’t know what customers service is but must say very efficient at taking your cash.

I much enjoyed my "footlong" this Wed evening. With a free birthday cookie to boot.
    bargainhunter2409's avatar
You had a footlong at your wedding and got a cookie to boot around ? Is that right ?
  33. Grazz0r's avatar
I wouldn't bother with this deal unless you enjoy being diddled
    mbristow's avatar
It'd take more than 12" to diddle me
  34. kumarana's avatar
It is 5.99 for me. I did show the 4.99 from my app. The store says the till day 5.99

    My local Subway useless
    Not accepting
  36. JJJZ's avatar
£5 for a sandwich. Making me laugh. Refuse to pay prices like these. (edited)
    Zabza's avatar
Agreed. The funny thing is, it's normally £9 without the promotion
  37. Rizzzzzzywow91's avatar
Adding cheese is an extra £1 ... mental
    bargainhunter2409's avatar
Adding cheese isn't 1 pound extra , adding extra cheese on top of the cheese you already get with sandwich is 1 pound . Just ask for grated cheese instead of the American sliced crap you will get more.
  38. GreenaGiant's avatar
I downloaded the app and could see the offer but it needed me to create an account.
Now I'm logged in, the offer has vanished. My local is on the participation list too.
    GreenaGiant's avatar
If you close the app and reopen it, the deal pops up again. It didn't show in offers.

Worked for me in the restaurant although they had to take some time to find it on the new till system they have.

    Thanks OP

    Why is this good value?

For half the price you could buy everything to have 10 feet one.

    Cool
Can we all come and get a 10 foot sandwich for £2.50
