To get sound from a PS5, you can use something like this - amzn.eu/d/i…oR9

Honestly, why do they use display ports instead of HDMI? It is very annoying.
    CarolTheCleaningLady's avatar
Because you need DP for 165hz at 1440p (edited)
  2. Teebeee's avatar
Just bought two of these - great monitors. They sit in the sweet spot for me in terms of price and performance. Going from 1080p 60hz to 1440p 165hz is 100% noticeable and well worth doing. I play counterstrike and can tell the difference. The IPS panel is great and the light distribution across the panel is so far very even. I turned off HDR as I'm looking for colour accuracy over "pop" (edited)

If you have any dell reward points try the games they have (scratchcards etc) for 200 points

I only had 400 which isn't enough to redeem, but I won 1500 which you can redeem for £15 off

If you're considering buying 2, you can buy one, get the rewards points (you get them after its despatched) and gamble them to try and win money off the second one

As for the monitors themselves, I got two and they're great
  4. markyo007's avatar

Use this for getting sound directly from the PS5 via the USB

Good for work purposes, more excel friendly?
    computerguy234's avatar
Text is nice and crisp, but a 165hz is overkill, you could probably get a 60hz 4k for the same price

This or wait for Black Friday offers?? After good monitor for son PS5 at Xmas
    Hatsune_MikuwBK's avatar
I'd just get this, don't use it and wait for black friday. Return the monitor if you think the reductions are worth the hassle. (edited)

1 HDMI port and no audio throughput kills this deal for me.

I game on PC/PS5/Switch so need the 3.5mm for audio via all three without swapping cables.

Hot for those who primarily use headphones though.
    The.Fatter.Cat's avatar
Grab a cheap HDMI audio extractor.
This one is only £11 after the voucher -
    amazon.co.uk/gp/…c=1

Even with the extra £11 spent this monitor is still superb value.
  9. lacom's avatar
With these offers, can we stop voting hot those 27" full HD monitors? 🤷🏻‍♂️

I hope Dell's monitors are more reliable than their delivery service. They're still 'on track' to deliver today apparently.

How is this for ps5 and xbox?

This ain't a 4k monitor so I don't get why the hype as it doesn't seem to be a gaming monitor. Correct me if I'm wrong.
    Cheers
    Gottograbthemall's avatar
Because most people gaming would prefer higher fps in general and 2k is a happy medium between HD and 4k
That and to get anywhere close to over 60fps in 4k even a monster gpu would struggle and ps and xbox wouldn't even come close on any AAA title. Tbh it's a bit misleading when they say 4k 120hz ect because most games wouldn't get close if it's AAA. It has a 2.1 hdmi port so supports VRR rates on ps5 and is all you need. Only downside it has no input for speakers so you'd have to use the console controller/headset
  12. CAL23's avatar
It's here, arrived earlier than expected at 9:45!
51433439-YDdOK.jpgSits nicely next to my 25" 1080p monitor. Very quick and easy to set up!
    markyo007's avatar
    A thing of beauty.

Does the monitor extend up? (edited)
  13. Sage07's avatar
Bought this for £20 more with the previous deal. Seems nice. Didn't realise it had the one hdmi port so kinda stuck with how I'm gonna connect the laptop and ps5. Might need a splitter which probably takes something away from the gaming
  14. abgabba's avatar
would this be a better choice over MSI Optix MAG274QRF-QD?
    Alex_H's avatar
Horses for courses. This uses an IPS panel and the msi uses a VA. Both have strengths and weaknesses so with looking those up, then making your decision.
  15. crzylgss's avatar
This is the exact spec monitor I've been looking for: 27", 2560 x 1440 QHD, Fast IPS for Gaming, High VRR @ 165Hz, great reviews from Rtings.com. Ticks all the boxes for upper-mid range PC gaming, as my GPU won't be able to run 4k.

Was tempted a couple days ago @ £209. For sub £180 its a steal! Super heat
    beerglass's avatar
I have this monitor for 3 years now and great and to be honest not many GPU will run 4k even today

I have a 4080FE and use this monitor for Ultra 2K @ 165 FPS. If you buy a 4K monitor and want 165 FPS you need 4090 with Ultra

So 2K is perfect and a much bigger jump from 1080P to 1440P than 1440P to 4K with a 27" screen
  16. TheRealJaboo's avatar
picked this up a little while ago, it's an incredible monitor for the price but beware that at least on my unit the colour temperature was awful out of the box and tuning it doesn't look great compared to my secondary msi monitor. And this tuning doesn't apply to the hdr mode either but hdr is not worth using at all anyway.
Also this monitor doesn't support vrr when using a ps5 in 1440p mode for whatever reason.
    BlackwellNik's avatar
Supposedly, it does support VRR on consoles, but you need to set it in the current mode first.
  17. Pentop's avatar
    Good match with a 7800 xt ?
    The.Fatter.Cat's avatar
    Perfect.
I have the 7800 XT and basically the exact same spec monitor (but an Iiyama that I paid more than this for, lol).

Step 1 : Find the same product you purchased on Dell.co.uk within 30 days of the invoice date. Hold on to that product link.

Step 2 : Go to our Order Support portal to share the link with a customer care agent. After your customer care agent validates the lower price on the product you bought, we will refund you the difference between the two prices.

I got a refund of £12.61 just now. I went via online chat and told the person that I bought it for £188 and quoted the above price (both prices are including the 10% discount), they refunded the difference without any hassle. The monitor is great by the way, very happy with my purchase.

Should I bite? Or does anyone reckon its better to wait towards Black Friday?
This seems to be the best IPS 27" QHD gaming monitor I've seen from a reputable brand too. I know there was an AOC deal, but I trust Dell better. (edited)
    stamfordblue's avatar
I've found that the lead up to Black Friday often gives the best deals, and Black Friday itself is a bit of a let down for price reductions.

Tempted by this, ideally wanted a QHD (1440) 32" IPS 100hz+ monitor, what would I expect to pay for one of those (inc any BF deals)? I was hoping for £250 but might not be realistic? Only really seen this so far currys.co.uk/pro…tml (edited)

What is this "IPS, QHD" talk lol 60hz is good enough, used to game CoD2 online with a CRT monitor haha, those were the days.

Using the groupon code it goes down to £179.39, using the dell 10% advantage code it goes down to £175.49 (edited)

    Crazy price, just crazy!
If you want a very good 27" 1440p gaming monitor, buy this right now.
Don't wait for BF/CM deals, I seriously doubt there will be anything better for the price.

Pretty annoying as I bought myself 2 new very similar specced monitors for myself quite recently and haven't even used them yet, lol.
Could have saved myself £50! (edited)
  32. CAL23's avatar
I don't where it came from but I somehow had £15 Dell Cash in my Dell Rewards account.

How did u get it for 160 if u don't mind me asking.
  34. McShane's avatar
Thanks, didn't need new monitors but picked up 2.
  35. Musaad_Haider's avatar
Awesomus maximus. Was exercising utmost self control to not order the alienware oled for past 2 days as work/play ratio is 90/10 and even man logic couldnt justify the oled. Purchased this now and feeling calm. Would be a massive upgrade in terms of refresh rate to my 60hz Samsung and I can still afford food
  36. 6ixFoot1's avatar
Will these be good for a PS5?
    Almynd's avatar
Yes it will, it also supports HDMI Forum VRR despite using 2.0, you usually need a monitor with 2.1 i believe.
  37. imcg1989's avatar
Would this work with an Xbox ok / is it a good option? Thinking of buying an Xbox X soon cheers 🥂
    CarolTheCleaningLady's avatar
There doesn't seem to be speakers built in so you'd need to use a headset for a console.
  38. JoeKober's avatar
2 of these for work/ vscode etc or a 1440p 34inch widescreen? Around £3-400 budget. Assuming these will be better with the higher hz
    zedzedUK's avatar
A 34" widescreen will give you 3440 pixels "horizontally".
    2 x 27" will give you 5120 (2 x 2560) pixels "horizontally".

So .. more screen real-estate with 2 monitors, but (perhaps obviously) if the biggest "window" you can get is 2560 wide, whereas with widescreen it's 3440.

Remember to check (if using a laptop) that it can handle 2 QHD monitors with whatever (typically) inbuilt GFX capabilities it has. Also .. if using these /just/ to vscode or work then you don't need these refresh rates etc. .. there are monitors around the £150 mark that would do the job (QHD / 2k ones).
  39. s_QEk's avatar
Tried dell a few times colours always seem off compared to my acer and benq. Why the lack of gamma control?
    inertia's avatar
Also, don’t get me started on rear mounted buttons….
  40. HWood23's avatar
I got this monitor a month or so ago and it's great for the price. Really good for PS5 (and XBX) as it supports 1440p, 120hz and VRR at the same time. Only annoyance is the lack of any audio out on the monitor or PS5 so if you want to plug in speakers over optical or 3.5mm you're out of luck.
    i2pm's avatar
Any monitors that have audio output always sucks, always better off buying external speakers or just using a headset (edited)
