Worst coffee I have ever tried! I am a coffee addict and I'll drink anything. I obviously love good coffee but I go through too much coffee to be able to afford artisan style £12 per 250g coffee.

I am perfectly okay with ASDA coffee; Taylors of Harrogate Lazy Sunday beans is what I usually drink. Illy beans are amazing. I am saying this to illustrate that I am not that picky about my coffee. But these beans ... I still have 2KG of this stuff and no idea what do with it. It's completely undrinkable for me.

However, I understand that taste is a subjective matter.

I recommend deathwish coffee, you will only need 2 cups max per day. I tried it having an average caffeine tolerance and was TWEAKIN in the gym after one cup the anxiety was real.

We use this coffee in our bean to cup machine and have done for the past year, really excellent coffee with a good strong taste

    Are these relatively freshly roasted?

Also... Are they medium or light roast, or super dark?

I stopped buying anything that doesn't have a roast date, only packet coffee I have found that does that is Turkish coffee. Brand I use is mehmet efendi very nice stuff

Agree with positive reviews, similar but prefer this to Lavazza red

Excellent price. Just finishing my last kilo of the red label der-franz. Lovely day to day coffee for the b2c machine.

I've also been using for a while in my Delonghi B2Ç. £4 for a kilo is very cheap but it's still better than most of the stuff I've tried which is way more expensive.

Maths isn't my strong point. Is that 4kg of beans for £17.99 ?
    Th3.Ripper's avatar
Yes it is. It's usually about £21
  8. GazzaGuru's avatar
Also, combined with the £5 off for ordering via the app. Only £12.99! Probably account specific that extra discount.

Very surprised buy the glowing reviews here. I thought it was awful and im really not picky when it comes to coffee.

It was OK at first then noticed i started going off coffee a bit and disliking the taste - but carrying on my routine as nicotine is an addiction! Some Lavazza beans came on a deal so i bought some to try, and it opened my eyes to how bad these were. Last half a bag got binned and sticking to better brands. Each to there own though, if you can get by with these then youve saved a fair few pennys! Not for me though.

Exactly what happened to me ... Life's too short to drink bad coffee 😁

How does this compare to lazzava coffee beans crema or lazzava qualita Rosa or lazzava in general please can someone help cheers (edited)

The Espresso is more acidic and bitter imo. I use a aeropress (with paper filters) and finely grind my beans with a encore grinder. I tend to add a small sprikle of salt while its brewing to cut the bitterness down. Works with grapefruit and seems to work with bitter coffee. (edited)

I always buy Taylors of Harrogate Rich Italian beans. They are expensive but they worth the money and they taste good. Sometimes we get bad batch and you can tell by pressure and by taste difference but rarely happens. We tried other brands where reviews are 5 star. But we ended up throwing other brands to the bin as they taste horrible sometimes wondering how people can drink this. I use Sage Expresso machine to extract coffee and around 11g of beans per cup. We use Tailors for over 5yrs now and would like to try something else. Can someone share their experience or favourite beans, brands which you use with expresso machine and grinder. Tailors price 100g - 1.75£ while this one 0.45£. Not sure why this one so cheap. Kind of suspicious

Taylors Rich Italian 1kg beans in Tesco for £11, not bad price

    U love the description
    "carefully chosen"
    And "Highland arabica"
It must be from Perthshire plantation just next to Highland spring

    Btw voted hot. Good coffee

We use this as our day to day coffee, better taste IMO than some of the top branded beans. Great price for 100% Arabica beans. Ordered 4 packs yesterday at this price and it's being delivered today. Heat added.

Really good price but I already have 6kg of beans to get through!

Excellent deal. Got £5 credit for adding a second card to my account and bought this, for 12.99! Amazing deal!

Thanks all for your help. Great to hear they work well with a Delonghi B2C, as that's what I use every day. Have ordered to try

Great deal .. had this before and like others have said, its a good day to day coffee. Ordered a few, thanks

    Some great prices here.
Much cheaper than earlier this year when I bought 4kg of the creama and 2kg of hazelnut

I think I'll have two bags of hazelnut and 2 bags of chocolate at this price
  23. m4rts's avatar
Thanks OP, giving them a go at this price
  24. Heetz55's avatar
Hi. Thanks, ordered. Its a good all round BtC coffee for my Delonghi. Have several packets but this is a very good price!

    Thank you ordered.

I got this a while ago, I had low expectations but it's fine, good actually. When I switched to a bag of Lavazza I only just noticed the difference and preferred this. Just opened the first bag of another 4kg today so don't need more.
  27. GazzaGuru's avatar
It’s not the best but perfectly serviceable. What is the best is the value when on offer. Decent day-to-day beans.

Made the mistake of listening to the positive reviews last time and ordered. These are the worst ones I’ve tried so far. Really don’t recommend them.
    tommytbone1's avatar
Yeah not great, but I get comments based on £4 price. Personally, I won't buy again and happy to spend more as I like a consistent cup. The roast on these were all over the place
  30. KyleKeighley's avatar
I found this coffee quite bitter, strong but bitter.
  31. brif33's avatar
Is this a good coffee black without milk
    Wrighty_in_Blighty's avatar
I have it without milk from a Magnifica set to fine grind. Tastes are personal, of course, but I find it to be spot on and not bitter at all. Quite smooth, in fact.
  32. eset12345's avatar
Not a fan of the crema version, the melange and espresso versions taste better
    Pedro88's avatar
I had all of them and for my taste this is the best, then espresso and melange. I only drink coffee with double cream though.
  33. gn1us's avatar
Anyone know if these have a roast date on them?
  34. Hazy247's avatar
I use this for my aeropress and thoroughly recommend. I use two scoops to up the strength.
  35. theshabster's avatar
Found the caramel version of Der Franz disgusting, but I'll give these a shot based on the reviews here. Currently using ALDI beans in my B2C and they're not bad for the price. Not a patch on freshly roasted beans, but that's to be expected.
    Thanks OP. (edited)

Thanks for the positive comments, purchased
  37. TerryT's avatar
Ah heck I just bought this but since read a number of reviews that are making me think twice. I really don't care as much to save a few pounds as I do to have nice coffee, I bought a good machine for Christmas and am simply after an upgrade from Douwe Egberts instant coffee!

This is 4KG of the stuff, I tend to drink 1 cup a day (happy to go to 2) if I dislike it, not only will it ruin my initial experience, but I'll have to put up with it for a while.

Is this the ticket, or should I cancel my order and go with something else?
    Heetz55's avatar
Hi its personal taste. We used to buy Lavazza, good all rounder. Der Franz is equally good and cheaper, our go to. We have lots but its vacuum packed. Once opened, a cool dark place or fridge. Enjoy.
  38. Lionyone's avatar
I really didn't like one or two of the coffees made by Der Franz. Don't recall them but think they were with flavour added.
