    This is my personal feedback.

I bought the Yoga Slim 7 Pro X 14.5 together with the Teal Sleeve and the extended warranties (3 years) for both the machine and the battery with on site labour (no need to send the laptop). Total cost was around £942 with £48 tracked on TopCashback and Lenovo Rewards (still not showing but I believe they might show in about a month's time from the purchase date). Don't forget to join the Lenovo Rewards scheme before completing the purchase.

All images belongs to the Yoga apart from the vertical keyboard (a 4800u HP Envy x360 13.3) and one of the chargers (the big one) belongs to my Lenovo Legion (5800h 3070 RTX).

I can confirm the bottom display bezel is symmetrically wavey so it must be a feature/issue with this model but actually it does not bother me at all because it is symmetrical and my eyes are focused on the middle part of the screen, the rest of the screen or the keyboard. The available RAM for any apps is thus 28GB which is more than enough.

With my Internet connection at the installation time, the laptop recognized the extended warranties which brings the expiry date to 38 months (2 bonus months!).

One of the PROs of the Lenovo laptops is the battery conservation mode, which prevents the battery from fully charging when connected to the mains thus extended the battery life. All my other laptops are connected to the mains and this is one of the reasons why I chose Lenovo. Not sure if other brands offer this feature.

Strangely, the conservation mode was not available when I first installed Windows on the machine. Not sure if I had to update the Lenovo Vantage app, do a hardware scan (ACPI) or something else, but with some gimmick I got it working. See the pics.

I believe that every keyboard is different so, at first, I did not like this one because of the short travel distance and the big touchpad area. On the left side I had some misspells while adapting to the layout so I decided that the best thing to do was to use the keyboard! I am writing this review after using the laptop for about one hour and I got used to the keyboard so it is no longer an issue for me. The left hand wrist sits on the laptop while pressing the keys so it is more accurate. This is my personal feedback. I adapted more easily to the HP keyboard (in the photo). The keyboard is backlit (no RGB).

For those interested, the laptop is fast. I have installed a few apps (libreoffice, pycharm, paint.net, ....) without any problems at all, while doing something else, and the WIFI connection is also fast with no issues about the signal. I had just one app freezing at first (Roblox) but that was at the very beginning, no other issues and it could be app related. I do not do serious gaming for the lack of time but the CPU is fast. It handles Roblox games (which still benefit from a dedicated GPU) without any probs.

And (PRO) the laptop is quiet. The only noise I hear is my fingers typing on the keyboard. On my Lenovo Legion, from time to time, even if I'm not doing anything, the fan starts spinning and the noise is a bit annoying.

The feature I really like is the portability of the whole system! If that is a must for you, I would suggest this laptop without any doubt. The pic showing the two chargers is there for this purpose. My Lenovo Legion charger is 4 times the size of this one and it weighs a lot. Plus the Lenovo Legion is about 1kg (around 2 lbs) heavier than this one. I am comfortably sitting in my bed while having the YOGA on my legs, on top of its box as hard surface to dissipate any heat).

The charger is 100w and very small for such a laptop. I have not tried charging the laptop with a USB C hub which usually deliver 85w (I haven't got one yet) or with my small 65w GAN charger because the provided charger is small enough to bring it everywhere with me. The charger has a USB C connector.

For users who want a better GPU, I believe the charger will be much bigger thus you'll be sacrificing the portability as better GPUs need more Watts. The charger is light and even smaller than my HP charger.

I am comfortable with the display. I believe it is a matte display and any reflection is not bothering me. The font setting is 200%. If used at 100%, the characters are very very small. The resolution is 3072 x 1920.

PROs: speed, memory, dedicated GPU, backlit keyboard, good ports choice and camera shutter for privacy. The price of the laptop (£799 on Black Friday) was great. 1TB storage and 3 months XBOX game pass.

I really got used to the keyboard so it is no longer an issue.

A separate mention is about the box the YOGA came in. It is nice looking and small so I am keeping it for safely storing the laptop if I will ever leave it at home or as a laptop stand when using it far from a desk.

    CONs:
Honestly, I cannot find one at the moment. I have been using the laptop for about 2 hours, apart from the installation time, and everything seems to be working as expected. Fingers crossed there won't be any HW issue but, if any, the warranty should really help.

Separately, I really do not like the sleeve. I bought it because I loved the teal colour, it was the cheapest option and readily available for delivery but it looks like fabric covering some hard paperboard. There is a waste of space at every side and, imho, limited protection. Quite sure that I'll replace it with a proper small laptop bag in the future. I can't fit the charger into it, just some memory sticks and paper sheets. The sleeve is a a bit rigid.

All feedback is personal and if you have any questions, please ask.

    Great post, thanks.

I went for the legion 7 slim deal to act mostly as desktop replacement but concerned about the fan noise - does your legion even make noise in quiet mode? (edited)

    1. 32GB is a lot of RAM, plenty to run multiple programs.
    2. Almost 4k monitor, 100% srgb so shows colours very well. Very good quality screen laptop for a IPS panel.
    3. RTX 3050 is great if u don't plan to do hardcore gaming. Games like league of legends, fortnite, Valorant should run fine. But games like cod its a no. Because of the near 4k quality, 120hz and rtx 3050 combo. Plus laptop looks thin, doesn't appear to have good cooling for gaming.

So if u plan to use for work purposes, video watching, video editing this laptop specs seems perfect.

But yeah it's definitely a good deal, the specs u get for price is quite a steal. (edited)

Don't need to play games at the 3k resolution, could crank it down to 1080p or maybe even lower to get a semi decent frame rate?

Great deal, paid £1199 a year ago for 32GB, glare screen and 512GB SSD spec, work machine with Win11 and WSL, WSL2 Docker and multiple IntelliJ IDEA IDEs and Opera with hundreds of tabs running, 32GB is perfect for that. Lightweight at 1.4Kg, awesome for travelling. Oh and gaming is great too, not CSGO, but Jedi Fallen Order at ultra goes around 80fps.

And no ugly plastic bezel around the glare screen, I think there may be around non-glare one? EDIT: Yes, anti-glare screen has plastic bezel around it (edited)

waiting for the experts on this before i buy but it has everything i want. graphics card, high resolution screed, above 300 nits, 32 gb ram under 800.

    finger on trigger!
    Romasato's avatar
I've got almost this exact spec of this model, but glare screen and 512GB which I upgraded to 2TB. After Surface Book 2 weight it was a relief, fast and light.
  5. blackcoffee's avatar
This is not the laptop in the picture.
    Romasato's avatar
Was going to say, as I have the same model... Actual one looks better than the one in picture.
  6. jasgrat's avatar
    Found the battery length, after using "Compare";
    Battery
    Up to 15 hours
    Romasato's avatar
Realistically around 4-5 hours if working on it. Also one has to know that Windows10/11 "Balanced" power plan (and the default others) is not really balanced and since 2017 MS has disabled core parking. Which means none of your CPU cores can be put to sleep and hence using more energy.

Download and use ParkControl or QuickCPU to enable core parking back. ThrottleStop does not work on Windows11 anymore if you have Virtualization/HyperV/WSL2 enabled.

How many years warranty support to go for?
    Roberto_LoStorto's avatar
I would go for 3... That's what I did with my legion laptops although I've never had an issue with them so far. Consumables such as the battery and accidental damage require a premium warranty. I didn't choose that.
  8. RW_'s avatar
average 3.7 rating out of 17 reviews. i would be caution for this one as it's too cheap for this kind of spec and lifepsan prob won't last long.
    joaorosa80's avatar
Where are you checking the reviews?
  9. TygerTyger's avatar
actually saw a review suggesting this 3050 card is not great for Solidworks

seems like I need a 3060 spec'd laptop so appreciate any recommendations!
    Roberto_LoStorto's avatar
    Read here: archvisual.studio/bes…ks/

It's about Microsoft surface having 32gb ram and a 3050 card. The CPU is different but it doesn't matter. The author writes: "With 32GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 graphics, 1TB Storage capacity, and an Intel i7 processor, this laptop is the perfect choice for anyone looking to run Solidworks software or any other design program without limitation."

IMHO, with video editing you need memory and a good GPU for video encoding. For CAD/CAM the memory is more important and the GPU is ok. You will also benefit from a 3k screen.

If you plan an extensive use, you might consider an external monitor (3440 Res but they're expensive) or if you have a 4k TV, use that one. If portability is important, go for a 14 inch monitor. Lenovo has a touchscreen one on offer for 220 if I remember.

Of course, if you have better GPU, faster CPU, more ram, every software performs better... But you'll be spending much more unless you go for a 15 inch laptop and more likely be with 16 GB RAM only

It seems the deal has increased to £1,099.99 now. Good thing I got it for £750. I will test it and see how it goes. I can always return it within the 14-day policy. There's another hot deal similar to this one: hotukdeals.com/dea…331 A lot better CPU and graphics card for an extra £200, but without the additional 16GB of RAM and 500GB drive. Again, not a big deal if you have cloud storage or don't plan to multitask heavily or using as a secondary pc.
    Roberto_LoStorto's avatar
This one is more portable considering the display size and weight... It appeals to different users
  11. TygerTyger's avatar
Back to 799 today if anyone is interested
  12. blackcoffee's avatar
Why is this cold? It's one of the best laptops on the market and was well over £1000 just recently. Top build quality, one of the best CPU's, 32gb ram.
  13. AStormIsComing's avatar
Would you be able to get cashback using TCB?
    AStormIsComing's avatar
£751 after cashback using TCB, absolutely brilliant deal, looking forward to this arriving now

Anyone know battery life on these?
    nickywilson's avatar
Not sure but it's usb c fast charge.
  15. n707301's avatar
Come on Lenovo, where's the batter life figure and weight? Surely with a laptop that is one of the first things you look at (particularly with one with as high spec as this and a 'real'(ish) GPU)? Not voting cold (as I think it should be hot), but still.....
    bluestreak56's avatar
Came here to check the weight. No idea why they hide it!!!

I would like some advice on this too, as someone whose main purpose would be to have many tabs running on excel, word etc and using it for YouTube content creation is this a good laptop/anything it lacks?

    Appreciate any guidance.
    i2pm's avatar
This is almost near perfect specs for your need. I guess 4k monitor would've been perfect for YouTube creation (if you're recording with a 4k camera). But its 3k so good enough. 32GB ram is plenty to run multiple programs (16gb would've actually been plenty). (edited)

    Is this touch screen?
    blackcoffee's avatar
    No
  18. iSam's avatar
I have the R9 version of this - build quality is great, track pad also great, keyboard very good. I've edited videos on it but no gaming. No USB 4.0. Bare in mind there's a 'new' version with a 90hz screen but better processor series. Voted hot. (edited)
  19. Wazza1990's avatar
Wish this had the 1 year free canva pro the other yoga laptops have as an additional offer. It's supposed to be any Yoga laptop, which surely this is?

    Oh my lord.

I was seriously looking at the Zenbook from AO but this deal with dedicated GPU, 32gb RAM and a bigger screen, albeit non oled, I think I might go this way. Thanks for posting this !

Ordered one at this price last Friday. Also you can add 1 of 2 half price cases. This is a nice video to see an unboxing. Think it was last year's model with a touch screen tho. youtu.be/VQV…H9Z

Looks a great deal. Just a heads up - it says ships in 3-4 weeks. Should therefore arrived in time for Christmas but just wanted to highlight that.
    nickywilson's avatar
Mine last week said 2-3 weeks. Fingers crossed.
  25. Roberto_LoStorto's avatar
Any idea if it's possible to pay this one in free interest installments? My credit card is already close to the limit as Xmas is approaching...
    AStormIsComing's avatar
You may have a PayPal credit 4 months interest free option but check in PayPal first to see if its applicable to your account

For anyone that wants this but don't need the gpu performance you can get a refurbished Intel model £250 cheaper here laptopoutlet.co.uk/len…tml

Less ram and storage but enough for most users. I've just ordered the AMD model
    OfferKid's avatar
Dammit! I paid £775 for this in May. Great machine!
  27. Roberto_LoStorto's avatar
Thanks... It's a different version, though...
  28. nickywilson's avatar
Ok so ordered one on Friday 17th after work and got dispatched today. So just over a week.
  29. RW_'s avatar
wish it was rtx 3060 as it's 50% better performance than the 3050
  30. Roberto_LoStorto's avatar
As a reminder, considering that the deal is still available, I used topcashback and join Lenovo rewards. I bought the teal sleeve and the extended warranty for 3 years including the battery one. On topcashback it tracked as £48... Fingers crossed 🤞
    RW_'s avatar
i think it's possible to wait for the lenova reward to arriev which is £59 and maybe could use that to buy the sleeve, port or extrend warranty?
  31. RW_'s avatar
is there a way to replace the rtx 3050 with 3060 or 4060 version or is it not upgradable - i plan to do this if the performance isn't good.
    JC_496305's avatar
it's soldered on, no chance of upgrading... same goes for practically every other laptop out there. However, it is set up to receive 55 watts I think, so can perform well compared to other laptops that don't give the GPU so much power. It performs better than some with 3050 ti for example based on some reviews
  32. TygerTyger's avatar
Hi... all this looks like a great deal - thinking of getting this for my son at uni. He needs something to run SolidWorks 3D design software and this looks like it fits the bill with 32gb and a dedicated gfx card.

The only thing I'm unsure of is AMD vs Intel and whether that would be a reason to consider an alternative ... appreciate any thoughts!
    Roberto_LoStorto's avatar
From my experience, AMD has better power consumption. Choose one with a dedicated GPU. Normally with Intel you will get an integrated Iris GPU. Both CPU will run the same software (unless optimized) and for a performance comparison use websites such as cpubenchmark.
