PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE reconsider buying this air fryer. I had a Tower after years of owning other kinds of Air Fryers. Was in the kitchen making chicken tikka (marinated chicken breast uncovered in the drawer) for my lunch, and while my back was turned making rice on the stove, I turned around to see FLAMES coming out of the bottom of the air fryer drawer. I freaked out, pulled the power cable out, and grabbed the unit and threw it out into my garden. I contacted Tower immediately and sent them photos and videos of the scorch marks under the drawer, and they came back to me and started asking me very targeted questions, did I have anything else in the cooking drawer? Was it properly vented? Was the unit covered in any way? I assured them it wasn't, that I knew how important ventilation is to an air fryer, and I was convinced it was nothing I had done to cause the fire. I then googled it, and found that there are a few google hits for "Tower air fryer catching fire". I was thankfully able to return it to amazon for a full refund, as it was only 10 months old at the time, and I replaced it with a Salter. Please just be careful if purchasing, I have no faith in this brand any more!

In the description it says " 2 x Removable Drawers and 2 x Grill Plates" so I'm guessing the drawers are separate and not attached. Maybe someone who has picked it up this morning can confirm, although I suspect many bought it for a present. There's been 300 Get Deal Clicks on this deal already!

I have tower 1 and had it for over a year (got it from b&m) the drawers and trays are the exact same as this one basically. I use mine every day and haven’t used any other so can’t compare. It is perfect however what I will say is though which is a pain, as seen in the pic with the trays, any item like chips etc fall though the holes in the middle (for pulling out the trays from the drawers) so you are left with a lot of whatever you have cooked under the trays and they will not be cooked properly compared to the food items still on the tray. Hope that makes sense to people lol

There is an option to use silicone inserts for the drawers which mitigate this issue which I have and use but I don’t use these for chips etc as I feel they don’t cook the same as having them just on the trays on their own as the heat/air doesn’t circulate under the rubber trays if inserted.

For the price though and with potentially £7 off via Argos emails then this is absolutely perfect for a family up to 4 I would say and you will realise that the oven never has to be used or used 80-90% less than usual (edited)

Just picked mine up. Got an extra £5 off by signing up to some newsletter. And then used topcashback for an extra few quid. Unfortunately, we didn't get the £7 off code

Seems good so far. Much quieter than our Tefal air fryer
