sorted byI have a ps5 for my son for Xmas if I log into his playstation account on my phone ( he had this account years ago on his PS4) and if I buy it on his account now will it link to the ps5 when I log in on his ps5 on Xmas day?
It says on the account that I currently have no devices linked so the PS4 from years ago must have been unlinked.
Thanks
I highly recommend you go for the PS+ Extra tier, it's a no brainer with the 100s of games that come with it several top AAA games too. Your son will be very happy.
Also buy top-up cards from Shopto and redeem on his account and then purchase using that to make it a little cheaper.
If I buy a £100 gift card (£87.85), does the credit remaining last indefinitely or does it expire?
Thanks
You can buy any combination of gift cards, whatever value you need ultimately, but I think your PSN account caps the amount of credit at something like £200-250 that can be held at any one time.
Generally buying a bigger one makes the biggest saving, and ShopTo are typically great value for PSN credit. The highest value doesn't always carry the biggest discount in % terms though, so have a scan through their options to get what serves you best.
Try not to buy it full price though, it’s a rip off at £100 rrp. If you can create an account now it’s better as you may get offered this deal. They don’t do many.
Always remember to use discounted gift cards eg Shopto, cdkeys etc when buying anything through PlayStation store including Ps+ subs.
You could try CDkey.
I was thinking of cancelling as I've barely used it this year but after seeing how cheap my renewal price is I don't want to cancel and it revert to full price.
Xmas = £25 off all tiers (12 months only). Equating to 25% off premium, 50% off essential and some % between those for Extra.
Extra is probably the one for you if you're not interested in streaming really old games, take a look here it has several top AAA games.

It's also showing 30% off for Extra as well (£69.99 instead of £99.99)
EDIT: Offer ends 18th December. Possibly better Xmas deals after that? (edited)
"Oh, a discount on Plus. Why not. Other Tarnished might come in useful."
Spends £90.
"Try finger, but hole."
I'm definitely not paying £120 for Premium (was able to get it for £65ish last year) so I'll just let my sub run out. Thanks, Sony.
At full price, IMHO it’s not worth it. I won’t be renewing next year; it’s very expensive. If you browse the games and believe you will definitely play the provided games on a regular basis, and happy to purchase full price games regularly on top, then go for it. Especially at the discounted price if you can get it
My plan is to let my Premium expire on 1st September 2024 then buy a 3 month Extra sub so it runs out for the Christmas 2024 deals.
They need to allow stacking at these prices - this kind of exclusion embitters their most loyal customers and encourages them to drop their subs when they expire, in the hope of better deals.
