Had them for a while now. Can't fault the speed. The few dealings with CS have always been satisfactory.
If you require a static IP address, for external hosting etc, then it will cost an extra £8 per month on a monthly basis, and is live within minutes of agreement.

If you use noip you can get a static IP for free.
I've been using the free service for years.
Most routers support noip, so it will automatically update itself when your dynamic IP changes.

    TOOB uses Carrier Grade NAT.

The only way to host your own bandwidth intensive services (plex/ip cameras etc) is to purchase the £8 static ip addon as @TristanDeCoonha has already mentioned.

Equipment wise they provide a Linksys Velop router. You can, however, just plug your own equipment into the ethernet socket on the termination box.

That’s decent we received a to link access point device with MTH networks :-(

Just got 1Gbit on community fibre with 8 months free and then £25 a month. Need to negotiate with a salesman when they come to your area...

wow that is incredible, probably the best deal have heard yet!

I just told the CF sales guy please don't knock again

Re the statement “more reliable Wi-Fi around the home” it should be made clear that a 900Mbs connection isn’t going to magically fix the Wi-Fi dead spots in your home!
    Despondent's avatar
Yes, they only guarantee that speed when connected over ethernet. I use toob and to be honest they are faster than I need.

Gayer than I need yes , most reliable internet hmm I think it's been good. Better customer service than virgin media for sure

Any customer service is better than Virgin . Good to know they are reliable.

I wish I had just signed up for this when they put the leaflet through my door. Instead I'm going to have to pay Now their extortionate out of contract price for a month

Best provider I've ever had, Cs always helpful. I have had issues but they've been good at sorting the issues

had them for a few months.. never had the speed of 900MBps.. especially the upload. 300mbps max
"not their problem" i've been told.. its 1. the cable i bought brand new CAT5E which supports upto 1gbps. I should buy a CAT6 cable they say.. 2. its your computer. Buy a new one. and that'll fix your speed issue..
    My ethernet is a 1gb..
maybe the truth is.. windows hasnt installed a device driver for the Velop AX4200 The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28) WHY?.. cause the hardware doesnt work with my OS?
Maybe it would have been helpful if the installer had told me to wait a FEW HOURS and not 20minutes for it to become activated.. WAIT FOR THE LIGHTS ON THE ROUTER..
or when i phoned and got told it would be ready at 5pm. and it wasnt.. and again had to phone.. twice more.
or if the password on the bottom of the router actually worked when i tried to use it on the router website.. only to be told WRONG PASSWORD.. 5 attempts you get locked out, and the recovery passcode was also wrong.
Ironically i'm the only one in my neighbourhood ON IT. everyone else is either BT, Virgin, Voda or SKY.
Note: it takes about 3months to get the Amazon Voucher.. which i haven't used as i dont use Amazon.
my speeds have been steady for the upload mostly in the 230mbps so much for 900mbps.
    Download 800mbps.. average.
just did a test.. Download 626.48mbps.. Upload. 933.65.. thats a first.. < i havent changed my cable or my computer.. so i guess theres nothing wrong with the cable / computer is there.

Why do you need a device driver to connect a router to a PC?

how can I find out what altnet broadband provider is in my area?
  13. Rob_Eaton's avatar
Unavailable in my busy area, very strange
  14. Rafiq07's avatar
Only available in areas down South really.

Currently paying £62 per month to Virgin for the same deal (well, upto 1100Mbps but my network tops out about below that).

On the plus side Cityfibre burried their pipes about 3 months ago so hopefully soon will have options.

They want people to start using Fibre and we should continue to see better deals for 500mb+ plans for the next year or two. Once most of us are on Fibre, they will start raising the prices. Until then we will see really good deals and much more options from isps.

Never ever heard of them before now.

What do people do with such fast connections?

Barely anyone torrents these days, hd movie streaming is possible with a 10mb connection.
    yeababyyea's avatar
4k streaming plus if there 4+ in house everyone has super fast speed

The website told me to hit restart on my broadband.

I did that and I lost the connection!

Oh look, another great deal not in my area ...sigh.

Don't get too down hearted. We've had City Fibre Network installed in our area for around 6 month. Of the multitude of providers which use their network (including TalkTalk and Zen) the only one I can sign up to is Vodafone.

Looks like I'll be sticking with an Openreach FTTP provider when my contract is due in March.

Had this activated today. Oh dear....does it take time to bed in? Where I was getting around 300Mbps download with vodafone, am currently getting between 14mbps and 26mbps! Not quite the 900mbps! Am not connecting directly with an ethernet cable to the device I'm on, but blimey, expecting better than that. Router provided in exactly the same place as previous vodafone one. Might have to cancel contract and look elsewhere (edited)

That's not right. Have you turned off the installed connection point and router? Any flashing coloured lights on either? Might be in an error state

I'm in Toob, as an example I'm at the back of my house connecting to an access point (not the router directly) and I'm still getting 254/140

WiFi 6 via a mobile phone
