As a newbie to Lebara can someone please explain whether they just auto debit from your credit card every month and how you cancel please.

    Thanks

Automatic payments can be taken from credit card, debit card, or paypal.
The paypal option has the benefit of email notifications from paypal for each successful payment.
After each payment is successful Lebara send a text message to confirm the plan is renewed.
To stop just deactivate the renewal of the plan anytime on the Lebara website by simply clicking a switch from on to off. (edited)

It's really hard to see how Lebara are not the best mobile network going these days:

    ● Mad introductory offers
    ● On the speedy and reliable Vodafone network
    ● 5G data
    ● Wi-Fi calling
    ● FREE roaming while abroad which most networks charge a whopping £2-5 A DAY for
    ● Not tied into a contract

    It's a no brainer tbh.....
    KingOfCaledonia's avatar
The only caveat is no WiFi calling on Google pixel

I go between this and LYCA mobile, yes I said it. I will not be shut up by anyone on here. Not anyone. It works for me.
    Cal_G's avatar
Same. Once it's on the last month I cancel it. It's only used for mobile data so it goes straight in the bin. No messing around porting numbers and such as my primary three SIM is always in the first slot. (edited)

Wish I'd seen this, jus order 5gb for 9.10 monthly for 2 years
    hax3's avatar
    14 day cancellation policy.

Long term contracts are no longer worth doing as data gets cheaper regularly.

Not as good as used to be... Ordered 15GB for £0.99 a month for 6 months on last deal and using now for a second month, but internet speed looks like capped to 24mbps on 4G. Can't reach any higher wherever I tested across UK. 5G coverage patchy, as Vodafone has worst 5G coverage. Been charged £7.90 for 2-nd month(instead of 99p), waiting for refund. WIFI calling and Volte not working, but showing as active on S23 Ultra.
    wellhellothere's avatar
Same happened to me on a different Lebara deal, over charged on the second month, finally got a refund, then over charged again the following month, cancelled and purchased the 99p deal for 6 months, see how I get on with that.

Am on last month of current deal. Expires 19th Feb. Best way to move to a new Lebara deal on same number with minimal down time?
    sdduk's avatar
You have to move your number to another network if you want a new deal with the the same number and then move back...Text:Pac to 65075 to get Pac code and give to new provider then leave it a day then once gone over then start again .Text:Pac to 65075 get the code from new provider and Pac it back to Lebara that's the only way you can keep your number.

Does anyone know, if I take this SIM to India, will it allow me to use the data whilst I'm there? And will the data start working as soon as I land in India or will I have to do anything first?
    TheJMan's avatar
Touch down - confirm it works by changing the automatically select network to Vodafone IN
  8. Darren_S's avatar
So say you sign up to this deal and only want to use for the 3 months when do you need to cancel to avoid the extra cost?
    sajidtg's avatar

Once they have taked the payment for 3rd month - you can switch off Auto renewal and it will stop at the end of the month
  9. drifta's avatar
Could I transfer my number to this network to take advantage of this deal, then to another network after 3 months?

TIA...I tried to do Vodafone to Voxi but pay monthly plans don't allow you to retain your number
    mutley1's avatar
it is payg so only one month rolling. you can port out any time you like, so yes, you can port out after 3 months, but it will need to be more like 2 months 3 weeks as you need to port out before the 3 months is up as it can take a couple of days for port to go through and lebara takes the money before the end of the month, so you could actually be forced out in 2 months 1 week.

this is too short for me and i would only use them for port dance as 2 months is too short.

Hi AllWhat choice of payments can you make for this or the 5GB for 99p for 3m, or better still, what is the best way to pay? i.e. do I or can I put £9 into the account for this plan and then opt out at the appropriate time/date to another provider, then come back to Lebara?GetIf I were to get a PAC from Ly... today, order one of these offers today and wait for the SIM to arrive, then activate it, how is the billing done (i.e. do I get billed from say 5th to the end of the month or is their billing cycle on a different date) and when do I port out before being billed the higher price? Some have said they have a weird billing process and need to opt out before being charged £7.99 on the 20GB plan for month 4 but may need to do this after month 2, does anyone have any tips, as I've never ported out and back again as always used a business phone.
Any help would be much appreciated
    hmv4u's avatar
as no one else has tried to help,I will attempt to answer some of your queries by saying what I do,i pay via paypal, for me the most important part is to ensure continuity of payment as a lapse finishs the deal and you go onto full cost, they take the first payment of 1.99 straight away and you have 30 days to activate the sim, when activated you are on a month cycle and at the end of that first month they take the next 1.99(unless you turn off auto renew in the app)and so on till you come to the end of the 3rd month when they will take 7.99 unless you have switched off autorenew or requested and used your PAC code, which I did to use another sim for 6 months(time period is immaterial) then requested a PAC from them and came back and will repeat again in a few months

Only issue I've had with Lebara is that the network connection seems to completely die at least once every day, and the only way to get it to connect back to the network again is the disable and renable the sim. Turning mobile data or airplane mode off and on won't fix it. Never had this issue with other providers before using the same phone.
    premierfella's avatar
Sounds a bit like me having to wake up my Three SIM with a phone call whenever I need a text message to come through - networks and phones can be quirky at times!
  12. SimonInd's avatar
how long can you waiit before activation? wondering whether I should bag the deal now
    Rimi's avatar
    30 days max
  13. M_Davy's avatar
Possibly a silly question but could this sim be used in a iPad for data abroad?? (edited)
    jansen.lebow's avatar
If the iPad has 4g then yes.

I've been on this deal for 3+ months now - decent service and still OKish £7.99 rate - BUT Lebara sent me an email to recommend that I set up WiFi calling and it took me some rummaging around to find that certain phones including my Google Pixel are NOT supported by Lebara for this. Nothing is mentioned on their website about that!
    thegorilla's avatar
I have Lebara with wifi calling on my pixel 7. My dad has a pixel 3a and it’s working on that as well. Check out the comment hotukdeals.com/com…490

Just took out 2 sims 15gb for 99p a month, arrived Monday, first one ported fine on Tuesday.
Second sim, mine ported Wednesday, as of Saturday morning it’s has still not ported.
I like the network coverage, but no phone for 3 , probably 5 days as it’s the weekend is a killer.
Both the networks are blaming each other.
    So be warned.
    mutley1's avatar
Which network did you port from?

Just asked Lebara about discontinuing my current deal of £6.95/12gb and they said I'd need to get the £1.99 deal the request a PAC code to keep my number for another company (like O2) then move it back to Lebara. Seems like quite a fuss so reluctantly thinking of sticking as is. Unless someone knows a better way?
    premierfella's avatar
There is no better way if you want to keep your number and put it on a new discounted deal with Lebara.

People sticking with the deal helps the rest of us get the discount 3/6 month deals (edited)

Also worth looking at money saving expert site as there are lebara deals that might suit you better.

Bought the sim. It’s worth the money. It’s the cheapest 20 GB and unlimited minutes and texts.
    Thanks sajidtg

I drive from Glasgow to the Highlands for camping a lot, so always look out for the best signal where I go.
Three is surprisingly good for the Highland, EE is poor for the area I go
    Wammer's avatar
We go to Dornoch quite often. A barman told me that the only signal that works up there is Three. (edited)

Does it work in Turkey 🇹🇷?
    KodaBear's avatar
It does, but you'll have to pay extra and rates are quite high.

If you want a SIM with inclusive usage in Turkey you'd have to look at their competitors.

Lebara is good but the speeds are very painful lucky if i can get 2mb download with the sims i have which ain't to bad got 2 of the 15gb for 99p for 6mths so just put up with it for that price...Signal does get better when i am out and about its more or less when indoors.
    jansen.lebow's avatar
I've had Lebara for a while and never had issues. It's probably area dependant 😄
  27. grasshopper66's avatar
Anyone know if you can get an eSIM on this deal or does it have to be a physical sim? Thanks in advance
    KodaBear's avatar
Lebara UK don't do eSIM at all yet. Physical only.

I bought in for their £1.50 SIM with 15GB of data and unlimited calls and texts but I've had nothing but problems when making calls, every time I ring someone now I can hear them perfectly but they can't hear me. Have to hang up and rering them before it finally works, had no issues with this beforehand. Not sure if it's the phone but I doubt it
    davidw59's avatar
Get them to send you a new sim
  31. austinc's avatar
Prices are tempting but the mobile data is useless. My mother has Vodafone in the same house and gets much better speed / reception.
    rheumatoid's avatar
Agreed. There is something odd going on as the signal in buildings is nowhere near as good as Voda in the places I use it. Suspect not all bands used but not sure. Will live with it at the price it is tho.

Is it just me or switching number to Lebara takes ages?
I've done it twice (me and partner) and each time they switched off both Sims at 9am with no reception till about 4pm?
    Jaenova's avatar
my port isn't going so well, its been 2 weeks and I cannot receive calls, the rest is fine though
  33. Groove's avatar
I've a Motorola dual SIM phone so will only use this for data & keep my main number for calls & texts...

After 3 months can you cancel & just sign up again for their latest offer using the old gmail trick then bin current SIM card & pop new one in...rinse & repeat?
  34. NonyD_Onyejeli's avatar
Not as good as last deal *pouts*... I'll wait for something better like 30gb at £1.99

I am currently on a similar offer with Lebrara coming to an end in the next few weeks, I can’t avail. of this can I, and if not any recommendations on where to move next?

Not really monthly contract as I started payments on 24th; Now payment is taken on 12th.
Been taking earlier payments over last 2 years; Some kind of stealth overcharge (edited)

I really wish they made it monthly renewal as that makes tracking refresh date much simpler. (edited)

I've been with Lebara for a while with no issues. How do I take advantage of these offers as an existing customer?
    Klyken's avatar
The easy bit is logging into your account via the webpage. Opening the deal link in a new tab. The rest in order to retain your current number involves porting out and back in via an alternative network sim. EE has been mentioned before. (edited)
