sorted byThe biggest sell for me is the display, despite being 1.4 on the 965 vs 1.3 (Epix) the FR just uses the screen real estate way more efficiently, making the Epix look dated imo. The display on the 965 also seems to go to the edge on lots of metric screens in comparison to the Epix.
I loaded the Western Europe map on the Epix and had 8gb left, maps are free but not pre-loaded on the epix. The 965 has all of Europe pre-loaded and has 15.6gb free if anyone is interested.
I love the build of the Epix, if it had the light on this model I would probably keep it but as it doesn't I am returning it as I would wear the 965 more.
Only caveat is the 965 has a domed screen that is more prone to damage, I have fitted screen protectors to both, image attached. Both screen protectors bought from Amazon. I've also knocked the Epix a few times and there are zero marks on the case.
It is also why it goes in and out of stock so often.
... other than the 965 has the dual-band GPS (which only appears in Sapphire versions of the Epix2), and the materials differ...
To be fair I'd also like the dual-band GPS when I finally replace my Fenix5S+, so I understand!
