Garmin fenix 5 £385 @ Amazon

Multisport GPS watch for fitness, adventure and style cheapest it’s been according to cc great watch

got it for this price last year. Sold it now as i felt there just too heavy.

Sports watch without Sapphire glass? :(

Garmin pay as well as an mp3 player i think. I did notice it also runs a bit faster. Plus a much higher cost!

I have owned many smart watches. The original Gear S, the Apple Watch series 0, the Microsoft Band 2... this is by far the one I have thought was best. The others all did a lot of things, but not very well. This does some things, but excellently. Battery life is about two weeks. Cracking watch.

Yes been looking at that one too would be interested in any feedback on the 5+

I think the 5Plus makes the regular 5 a much better, the battery life is naff when I was testing it

Well it arrived the morning as stated, 2 days after ordering. Which was impressive considering it was showing out of stock with a 7-10 waiting time. So as far as shop service goes, 1st class! First impressions of the watch are that i love it. I love the fact that i just put on my trekz titanium headphones and off i go, no phone, nothing, and music or podcasts playing. So for me, thats huge. Only had a little play about with the maps when out on a short bike ride (7 miles) with the bairns, but gps seemed accurate and directed us correctly. Battery life didn't do anything bad after a coupe of shortish runs and a bike ride (like some have reported), so ill just have to wait on that and see if its consistent. Haven't had the 'powerdrain' that others have reported. Garmin pay is a bit of a diddle at the moment as not many UK banks have signed up, so it looks like im going to have to open up an account with one of the banks to use that service. A pain, but worthwhile imo for what it gives me. Playing golf next week so will report back on that one, however, from what i've seen it looks like a pretty basic golfing watch, which im a little disappointing at, but ill withhold judgement till then. Ill report back later when ive had it a little while, but after a weeks use, my first impressions are very positive!

Delivered the next day. Great service

Did it come OK? Be interested to hear your views.

I don't know if it will compare on features etc but I had been looking at a Samsung classic or frontier and was just wondering what the extra cost of a gamin gets you.

You can pick these up very cheap on eBay. Nobody seems to want them anymore. Basic compared to the likes of the Band2 but the battery is a massive plus on these.

Elemnt bolt seems better although the screen is black and white Garmin 520 vs Wahoo Elemnt Bolt

Yes I priced matched and got 10% off

To name a few reasons: - The touch screen is awful. It responds about 2 seconds after you touch it...or not at all. There are no physical buttons to use in its place. - The software is slow and often unresponsive - I had numerous instances of the unit freezing mid ride and resetting. This resulted in a complete loss of the data file. -ANT+ lights (if you use them) are unreliable and drop out! - crash alert kept going off and SMS'ing my wife...just when i was using my brakes The above is not unique to me. Have a read around. I sold mine and bought a cheaper Wahoo Bolt. Its 10x better

Care to say why?

I've got a Fitbit Surge from the recent Argos deal, but mine is clearly faulty. I run, hike and walk - I use Strava on my phone which is very good, so really wanting something to monitor heart rate I guess. I had a Mi Band 2 but the heart rate monitor was too unreliable, considering the Amazefit Bip now.

Even more so when it is £94.99 at Amazon UK. Also, remember that this is the most basic of the current Garmin Forerunner watches. As long as you on;y want to use it for running then it should do the job though.

Works out at 95.88 if you use Amazon's currancy converter and don't have a favourable euro card. As this is 99.99 in Argos, buying from seems like false economy to me.

Maybe I'm working the euros out wrong. I'll edit op to reflect your price. :)

Could be but non UK Amazons normally charge for delivery to UK, even for their Prime members.

Yeah, that's the one I wanted for some time, and was wondering about. Although when I tried it in Halfords I wasn't that impressed - but I wasn't used to such basic screens compared to smart watches and phones. I missed the deal. The Vivoactive HR has swim tracking, more customisation and functions than the Vivosport. But I believe the Vivosport has continuous next generation heart rate tracking, stress monitoring (heart rate variability I believe), and perhaps better motion/steps tracking? The screen of the Vivoactive HR is meant to be very delicate, so I'd get a tempered glass screen protector if you haven't already. That put me off too. Importantly for me I occasionally wear a watch now but plan to wear a fitness tracker on my right wrist and a Samsung Galaxy Watch when it comes out (hopefully with a decent offer), on my left. So a thinner band style works better.

Yup, third time ordering. Glad I didn't get the lightening deal now. Keep dropping... Now if only they do the same for the scales.

Price dropped again!

My last Fitbit was a Charge 2HR but after the screen cracked I saw a deal on here for a Garmin vivoactive hr so went for that. The Vivoactive wins hands down on functions and features as I can download new screen faces and alter the lay out of icons etc. The Vivoactive also has GPS built in and can map activities such as runs which the charge 2 could not do. If you are a keen sleep tracker then I feel the Fitbit is a better option as sleep tracking on Garmin devices is terrible especially for people like me who work shifts. Swings and roundabouts but at the moment I am happy with the Garmin (y)

This is brilliant. I bought one for me & the Mrs on Prime Day. The app is great, watch is nice with lots of features, easy linkup to phone & love the goals/targets alerts. I bought this over a FitBit. Great buy.

Garmin Edge 25 £76.94 @ Halfords

Garmin Edge 25 Entry level cycle Gps Check out reviews excellent bit of kit Best price I've seen for this for a while and same price at Amazon too.

I had both and went back to my 200 so I’m not convinced it is, however I also didn’t use sensors with my 200 either. The screen is a bit too small if you ask me, the menus not that great due to lack of buttons and screen space and the lack of resume later - but if you can overlook that, it’s a good device. I have a 1000 and a Fenix 5s so between those two, I had everything covered.

My 800 is fine; I am looking for something cheap for my eldest, and second hand 500 range appears to be close to the Edge 25's retail with BC discount, so not using wireless in this case is not a problem for me (as is joining files, but I doubt the rides will be long enough just yet). Rides wont be much over 4hrs for a long time IMO. Is the 25 an improvement over the 200 then, aside from this ending rides on power save issue?

As someone who rides most days, the point of changing my commute bike from an Edge 200 to a 25 was to get wireless syncing and improvements not to have to manually join files which is literally the last thing I’d want to do. Why would you be looking if you have an Edge 800, surely that’s still a decent head unit today (apart from the Bluetooth/ANT connectivity).

Silly question, but can't you just join two or more GPS files together using ( ? I appreciate it is a pain having to do so, but I would have thought that turning off GLONAS and auto-pause will maximize battery life (9-10hrs?) and also stop this daft functionality anyhow. Strava takes out stationary events from your efforts anyhow (unless you set the activity to race that is). Having said that one of the reviews stated you could only load one course to the device, but Ive no idea if this is correct. I have been looking at the Garmin 130, which looks great, but its twice the price of the Garmin 25 and has lots of features that just wont be used. Sadly, there appears to be nothing in the Lezyne range (with Ant+) that is a significant difference in price to tempt me away from Garmin. Been a very happy Garmin Edge 800 user for years..

Honestly, it is really annoying so get a second-hand 510 or better is a good option or the latest 130 which is meant to be amazing on all fronts.

Thanks for taking the time to write. I'm very happy with mine and although it is big you're right. it's not too big.

I wear mine all day (and night actually, once I changed the strap) - and I'm a girl. It's not the smallest, but it's not huge, and I don't feel too big to be worn all the time. I did switch out the strap for a milanese link metal one, which I find much more confortable overnight. But I still have the original strap (and a few other silicone replacement versions for when I feel like something different :) ) For anyone looking at it - I bought mine last year on Prime day, £175 I think, and I've never regretted it - it's an absolutely fantastic sports watch, and I'd recommend it to anyone.

wanted to wear all day but seems massive. ordered anyway and I'll perhaps just wear it for running.

Was hoping this would come down , early birthday present for me bought .

Was hoping this was going to be included in Prime Day ...ordered!

Meh. I use an old Huawei in a bike phone mount. Lasts a good couple hours on a decent brightness using Nokia Maps or Google maps downloaded. Can always stick a usb battery on the bike to keep it going all day.

and also drains the battery

Accurate enough, I've had no signal issues. Does pretty much what I'd want from a gps. These things are crazy overpriced.

Which isn't fully accurate, suffers signal issues and can't do half the stuff one if these can.

While I was on, I ordered a set for the new Yi dashcam I am expecting to arrive today to replace the old G1WH one I currently have on the back - the filter was not as cheap as that one through, 4 quid for a second hand one!

Brilliant, thanks for taking the time for posting, I've got a non-polarised 55 so gives me a good starting point

The item numbers of what I bought show on this, but the ring is no longer listed at that number, but that's the size you need for the Grey Yi Dashcam. It was a bit cheaper than I remembered!

Makes sense to have 25 over using strava on phone purely due to battery. Will prefer 520 as re-routing will not work on this one.

Have the edge 25, forget all day rides recording, battery lasts about 4 or 5hrs from my year old one. Just got a xplova miles better and full mapping. Or get an amazfit bip mega GPS battery life and under 40 quid

These are great watches, but with the fenix 5 plus just announced, I'd expect the price of this model to drop quite quickly in the near future. At this point in time, this doesn't seem very hot.
