Evo - enhanced
LG’s Evo panel maximised OLED’s already impressive picture performance. Brighter and clearer than ever, Evo is a big step up. Now, even Evo has just got better. With this LG 55 inch TV, you get new heat dissipation technology, which makes the picture even brighter than the original Evo screen. For lifelike, brilliant images, the LG OLED55G26LA is simply the best of the best.

Made for the wall – Gallery design
No deeper than a typical heating controller, this slimline, ‘Gallery’ design TV takes pride of place in your room, without dominating it. The latest G-series OLED TVs have a slimmer bezel for even sleeker style. The supplied wall bracket mounts the TV flush to the wall, giving this TV a stunning appearance. (Please note, stand not included but LG ST-G26ST55 stand is available as an additional cost option).

Alpha 9 Gen 5 processing for improved sound and vision
Now in its fifth generation, LG’s mighty Alpha 9 processor optimises sound and vision for spectacular results. Using AI technology, the picture and sound are optimised to best suit the genre – be it movies, sport, gaming or regular TV. With enhancements to picture tone-mapping, background enhancement and upscaling, picture processing is more advanced than ever. Virtual sound channel up-mixing increases from 5.1.2 to 7.1.2, giving an even more enveloping sound on the LG OLED55G26LA.

AI Picture /Sound Pro for professional sound and vision
Using a huge database of over one million visual date points, AI Picture Pro uses deep-learning algorithms to recognise content, remove noise and optimise the picture. AI Sound Pro leans from more than 17 million audio data points, identifying voices, effects and frequencies. From here, it optimises the sound by genre, giving a more natural sound quality.

Ultimate detail - Dolby Vision IQ
For ultimate detail, in all environments, this LG OLED features Dolby Vision IQ. Dolby Vision IQ version uses data within the signal and light sensors inside the TV to adjust the picture quality for the best contrast. This improves the picture’s brightness, without ‘washing out’ the depth. You get a consistent picture quality, however light or dark your room is. Whether you’re watching a brightly lit sports event or moody movie, Dolby Vision IQ adjusts to suit.

See the picture exactly as originally intended, with Filmmaker Mode
If you’re mad about movies, you’ll love Filmmaker Mode. Designed in collaboration with filmmakers and Hollywood studios, Filmmaker Mode lets you experience the cinematic vision, exactly as the director intended. Overriding the TV’s own motion and picture processing, Filmmaker Mode presents the correct aspect ratio, colour and frame rate – just as the filmmakers intended.

Made for gaming – with Game Optimiser and more
The improved Game Optimiser utilises an enhanced gaming menu, giving you quick access to important settings. There are now five game genre presets, including a new one for sports games. Equipped with 48Gbps HDMI 2.1 sockets, this LG TV is designed to get the very best from today’s, and future, games consoles. ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode) and VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) mean that your TV automatically adjusts to the optimised settings for gaming – giving you a smoother and faster response.

4.2 multi-speaker system, AI Sound Pro and Dolby Atmos compatible sound
Featuring an enhanced, 4.2 speaker system, the OLED55G26LA offers more impressive sound than lower models. Power is also up 50% to 60 watts – giving a richer, room-filling sound. Using AI algorithms, AI Sound Pro up-mixes two-channel audio to virtual 7.1.2 sound – producing a much more immersive sound and enhanced dialogue. With a Dolby Atmos processor built-in, this LG 55” TV decodes Atmos sound tracks - giving you the potential for even more enveloping audio.

Welcome home, with LG webOS 22 – the best in smart TV
Widely regarded as one of the best smart TV platforms, LG’s webOS system continues to set the standard. The latest webOS 22 offers improved personalisation and recommendations. You can create up to six personalised profiles, with individual viewing suggestions, sport alerts and app lists.

NFC Magic Tap for content mirroring around your home
You can access your webOS TV profile via your smartphone with the NFC Magic Tap app. Even better, NFC Magic Tap lets you mirror content from your mobile to the TV – and not just a single TV. You can mirror content from one TV in your home, to another, using the Room To Room Share function. This lets you view cable or satellite content on multiple screens, without the need for additional set-top boxes.

The hub of your home entertainment – with voice control
Featuring LG’s ThinQ AI technology, you can control a Home IoT ecosystem with natural voice recognition. With both Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa built-in, it makes it even easier to control your LG OLED TV and quickly access the entertainment you’re looking for.

is it worth upgrading from a B8? or is there not much difference apart from 120hz screen?
    brookheather's avatar
I recently replaced my 55" B8 with this G2 model - my observations are that the picture is a little brighter on the G2 which would be more noticeable in well lit rooms. The EPG on Freesat is much better on the G2 and apps are more responsive and faster to load - especially Plex. You also get Wifi 6 though I have mine wired on Ethernet which is still only 100Mbps. The G2 sits closer to the wall as it doesn't have the bulge at the bottom of the B8 but I always liked the super thin edge on the B8.

if I Buy this, I will get grief from the wifey for spending unnecessarily. But I want this

I've just got one of these (on the previous deal). Very pleased with the picture quality and just got a cheap stand off Amazon which works well. Not the brightest TV but couldn't justify spending 50% more for a G3

    Link for the stand please

Good deal, I would buy at this price again LG direct do not deliver to Northern Ireland which is ridiculous.

According to LG customer support it includes full 5 year warranty.

No stand included, just wall fixing bracket

Not sure I can be bothered to cancel and reorder for the extra £20 saving... plus I tried my 20% off code when signed in and it said it wasn't valid, but it was valid when I wasn't signed in! Odd. (edited)

Yes same thoughts as me, even at £800 it's still a very good deal. Just had my G2 delivered this morning (edited)

A Firestick or Apple TV updates any TV to the latest apps etc. No need to replace a TV just for apps

Deciding on HISENSE 65U7KQTUK 65" or this LG OLED55G26LA 55”, the U7K is costing around £800, comes with 5 year guarantee and I will be installing in a bright room, any words of advise. Tried contacting LG CS to confirm 5 year guarantee but no response yet.

Anyone know the differences between this and the C2 technology wise?

    Found this. Basically the same...

This G2 has a Heatsink in the panel for better longevity and it can go a bit brighter than the C2.

The G2 is flushed against the wall using its supplied wall bracket. And has better build quality.

Also the G2 speakers are slightly better but you’ll still want a soundbar either way.

Just remember they only give you 1 year warranty directly from LG. Then another company supposed to contact you to give you additional 4 year warranty. I bought this tv last month and this is what I was told by customer service via chat. So far nobody contacted me, but I will ring them in coming week to find out.
"If you haven't received it yet, you may contact our 3rd party, which isdomestic and general, at 0333 000 2235. You will get another 4-yearwarranty from them after you purchase a QNED or OLED TV from our website. " (edited)
    P1121's avatar
So 5 year warranty on TV but year 2-5 with Domestic and General you mean? Suppose as long as its a covered, seems strange LG would outsource warranty. Domestic and General I think are the company who provide John Lewis protect plus cover, the accidental damage policy with burn in cover. Think quite reputable company.

What about the LG 5 year panel warranty on the G series that covers burn in? I know it's parts only not labour, do you happen to know if this still qualifies for that 5 year panel warranty too, through LG?

excellent price! I bought my C1 55'' for £900 2 years ago and still enjoy it very much, no doubt this will be a great buy for many!
  21. aegj2002's avatar
For so many years I've suffered from super slow start up time of all my "smart" TVs, LG, Sony Samsung (yes - I bought cheap versions).
Does anyone know how good and responsive is this one when starting the TV?
    brookheather's avatar
It takes about 2 seconds from standby to display a picture - is that fast enough for you?
  22. L555BAT's avatar
    Again?

Can you pay extra for installation and wall mounting? If so how?
    jerrysimon's avatar
Usually there’s an option to unpack install etc but you would still need to buy a bracket and get it installed on the wall beforehand.
  36. slu79's avatar
Would also really appreciate it if anyone is able to DM a code.

Been looking at Sony full array tv's, but at this price an OLED of this quality is hard to resist! If anyone has a code they can DM me I'll go for this instead. Would be grateful if anyone can.

This or the c3 can't decide this is £250 cheaper :/
    coointhezoo's avatar
I went for the C3 the other week and no complaints, if that’s helpful. I figured it would be slightly more future-proofed software wise, even if there’s not a dramatic difference in screen quality

Is anyone able to help me out with a student beans code please? If you could send me a message with it I’d be forever grateful 😁
