Any noticeable difference between HD555's and modern day HD's?

I might switch back to mic+headphones combo rather than headset. I've got 555's that I could just get the cushions on.

Tough call, I assume since it's Sennheiser pads are £30 or something. 560S look like they have a slightly better bass response and more linear treble

I believe there's an official refurb up for £97 too

Recently bought refurbs of these and have paired them up with an Ifi Uno DAC. Wonderful sound!

I really like them but they are far from comfortable.

The HD599 can be found for £70, are these worth so much more ?

599 are closed back, they don't measure too bad but if there's a seal issue their bass will drop off a cliff

560S are much more consistent and being open give a more airy sound
