If spending this amount on a new graphics card I would at least expect reasonable 1440p performance out of it. I do not get why someone would want to upgrade a GPU to stay with 1080p. The 4060 Ti should be a baseline for upgrading as it at least manages 1440p on most games at reasonable settings and not worth more than £300 because of the VRAM limitations. Buy a used 3060 Ti rather than this. It will be cheaper and faster.

I don't disagree about a used 3060 Ti being a better price/performance option, but many people won't even consider the used market. Not everybody plays the latest "AAA" games (or wants to) either. There are a lot of lighter titles (especially in the multiplayer and e-sports areas, Fortnite and the like) where a 4060 would deliver a high framerate experience at 1440p, and it's not SO weak that you can't play the odd demanding game on it too, even at that resolution.

That's obviously testing with the ultra settings too. With some settings adjustments and DLSS, there's a perfectly reasonable 60fps experience available for 99.9% of games out there even on a 4060 with a 1440p monitor. For someone who just wants something quiet with low power draw primarily for some casual gaming, it's not a TERRIBLE option. Yes, it's still overpriced even at this money, but that's just the way the market is - used AND new. It's on par with a 2080 (stronger in RT, with other benefits) and those are still going for over £200 on Ebay. I don't know who's paying that money for them, but they are. The demand just never seems to be sated, even with cryptomining a thing of the past.

People saying you can't play 1440p on this while I'm just sat here running a 3440x1440 UWQHD on a 3060ti...

Cyberpunk isn't the be all and end all. I'd consider upgrading my 3060ti FE but then I'm running Helldivers 2 at 100fps @1440p on Ultra+DLSS. Hard to convince myself I need more to run unoptimised garbage like Dragons Dogma 2... maybe they should just make them better!

Hi - complete dunce here. will this fit my board (Asus Prime H410m-a with PCIe 3.0 x16 ASUS SafeSlot Core)?

need some more gfx horsepower for Topaz Video AI.

    Absolutely.

You shouldn't really be pushing for 1440p on either this or the Ti, I wouldn't even bother on the base 4070. The sad reality is that there's little competition from AMD to push GPU prices down.

I went with the 4060 for improved RT performance and better performance per watt. I also get a warranty.

What do you mean? AMD competes in every GPU segment apart from 4090. If AMD is more competitive, which IMO - they are, would you get a Radeon? Or just want an RTX for less money?

At similar price range, RX 6750 XT (£299.99) with 12GB vram is far better than this RTX 4060.

learning as i go here so bear with me - from reading PSU requirements the RX6750XT needs a twin PCIE 8 pin output whereas the RTX 4060 only needs the one? think ive got that right. i need to upgrade my psu either way - im looking at 30 quid for a PSU (600w) to power the RTX4060 or 100 quid (at least) to power the RX6750XT?

again, apologies if ive gone off on a tangent here - its a looonnng time since i bought a gfx card.

The Ti model is also around £350, but if budget is the concern it's of lesser value per £.

Any recommendations for entry 4k gaming cards ?

This will game at 4k but older titles or new AAA games on low settings. Your really need to tell us what games you want to play, at what settings and Hz your monitor supports.
