Cold... This is the older version, the Magic 3 has a bigger capacity for only a few quid more (15 tracks vs 11)

Genuine question for those that know about NAS storage though, what should I get if I wanted something to serve content hosted on plex, with ability to transcode? I also record video and would like a place on the network to store content after it's recorded.

Synology and QNAP come with their own Media Servers, and Plex is a media server as well. So you don't really need anything else except the NAS then load up your media, including movies, and stream them to your uPnP devices.
