About this deal

I was walking past my local Subway and saw this sticker in the window where you can get 50% off a foot long sandwich. The offer starts on the 20th May and I assume that you need the new app to claim it as well. The small print on the sticker said that you can claim one per week up to 30th June. If it’s like most of the other offers, it may be participating stores only but we should find out more details by email or in the app on Monday

Good deal have some heat. My only gripe is that subway never had prices clearly labelled in store so never know how much you'll pay at till - unless it's a meal deal which they advertise

The prices are.on the App. With them being franchises the variance is huge. Some places within a few miles of each other are literally £2 more expensive than others.

I used the App for figure out which ones to go to and which to avoid.

So annoying, I had a shed load of points on the app and all this post has done is made me realise the old app is no more and I've just lost points worth about £25!!
So I won't be using them again!

Very annoying and no reason at all why couldn’t be transferred! However, in their defence they have bombarded me with emails for months saying this is going to happen and to ensure they are used up

I read once that a subway sandwich has more sugar in it than a can of Coca Cola.

Given that the bread cannot legally be classed as bread, that's not much of a surprise!

I am guessing we are not able to click and collect with the 50% off offer

I took a quick look and it seems you might be able to add it to a click and collect order. You go to "Rewards" tab in the app and then tap the "+" next to the offer (edited)

    Good offer Op ....

But does this offer make up for not transferring customer points from the old app & generally a worst rewards program? (edited)

It feels like the 2nd or 3rd time Subway have updated their reward system, resulting in customers losing existing points! Such a scam!

One of the reasons i rarely eat there anymore, that and the prices are ridiculously high now.

50% off a foot long sub..does that mean you get a 6 inch sub?

    johnsquire334's avatar
I mean they sent emails months ago that it was changing on May 15th.

Then you go in and try to use Rewards and they say "we dont participate in that scheme "......

So along with a much worse rewards system, Subway seem to have gotten rid of their Subsquad bonus points system in the process with the move to the new app. A bit crap really.

To be fair, their old system was surprisingly too generous in comparison to everyone else. I would make a few purchases and find I have a free 6inch sub. Probably losing them a lot of money

A months worth of calories there.
Rediculous size. Just get a nice roll from a proper bakery, some Norfolk ham with lashings of Colmans.
Beautiful roll. Dirt cheap and much better quality.
Can't beat home made sarnies. Sadly they seem to be too much trouble these days as everyone is so short of money. Or not

Not true. I count calories because I bulk and cut frequently for body building. A footlong turkey on Italian with double meat, cheese, southwest and all salad is 890 calories with 80g of protein. The subway app is surprising good value for money and you get a free 6" sub for about every 3 footlong sandwhiches. Subway is a great substitute for regular fast food when you're on a pinch, if you know what you are ordering

I recall when Subway first hit the UK they used to proclaim how healthy their sandwiches were & even had the calorific info printed on their napkins, and the news was how they were harming McDonalds in the states, now they're just another junk food outlet

They’re owned by Mc Donalds, maybe that’s why?

Good offer, but I refuse to spend another penny in their stores until I get my free subs back that they took away from me. Tried to use my last points before the deadline of 5pm and they made up some bs that the system wasn't working.

If it wasn't working to allow me to use my points, then why did my points total go up after I was forced to buy the subs I'd already had made for me before being hit with this scam.

I've cancelled my order after its been made to avoid paying franchise crooks who don't honour these deal at the checkout. Rather put my money elsewhere

I too was bombarded by email for months about having to use the points up or they would no longer be on the new app. No problem you would think except the Subway in the High Street in town (15 miles away) closed down without warning. The franchisee also has the store in the local council leisure centre but that’s too long a walk for me and there’s little point in trying to find a parking space at the centre because it’s permanently full. As there’s conference rooms in it as well and it’s straight across the road from the main council building, the leisure centre car park gets filled up by their staff and those from nearby offices. I managed to get a space on the last Monday of the scheme and asked a server lad how many points I had left. Over three thousand! Why did I have to ask? Coz for nearly three years now, I have using a screenshot of my Q code thingy as I have been unable to login despite resetting my password many times after getting the ‘info is incorrect’ message. I never used to log out but as the WiFi in the High Street store was always not working, I found I had been force logged out every time and things have been cr*p ever since.
One other annoying thing over the years was that their deal offers included a sub, crisps or a cookie and drink BUT that drink had to be a sugar laden dispensed cold fizzy drink. A tea or coffee was not allowed. No use to a diabetic 😡
I’m quite happy to cut my losses and not bother downloading the new app.

I mean water was included... Just saying :/

I tried to claim this last time they had similar offer - after getting my subway made I scanned the app and he said oh sorry it only works after your 1st purchase! So you need to buy a foot long first - hopefully it's not the case this time but there was no mention of this last time either - it just said get the app and register/activate.

Without sounding rude or harsh tell them you purchased under the thought that it was 50% off and say your not interested in a full price sub . If quibbled just leave . It's the franchisee that's at fault and by no means your fault . Sounds harsh but the two times I've done it magically the system works. Out of those times once I've left as it irked me (edited)

i've just downloaded the new app & i've got a free 6ich sub until the 2nd of June :P

Boycott them. Overpriced and they made a lot of people lose their last points. Also new scheme is a joke. Make a sandwich yourself be much nicer. Lol

Just got the email and offer is also showing on the website too,

I will probably give it a miss this month after using up all my subway points (edited)

The new app also highlights the Participating Location in the store select screen (whether they honour it or not I am not sure though)
