We went here in august a couple of years ago and it’s cold in the evenings and a taxi ride to town , the landing and takeoff is horrendous and the the airport building is a cupboard! (edited)

Apart from that, all went well?

I really like Skiathos, found the landing and take off really thrilling as it has a very short runway. There are regular buses that run to each end of the island (can get busy is peak months) so no need for taxis all the time. Skiathos town is lovely and there are some great sandy beaches on the island. Troulos is halfway between the town and the end of the island (Koukounaries) and has a nice beach, not fine sand but nice enough. I highly recommend a visit and worth getting a hire care for a few days. Lots of decent places to eat too. May will be cooler at night as are many places this time of year in the popular holiday spots in Europe. Decent price for 2 weeks. Heat given.
