All perfect and quick. Thanks. I tested the navigation for a few seconds, and I got 5G with very good speed. (In St Albans with a Fold 5)
I didn't measure with speed test because with 5G, the 1 GB free becomes nothing with 1 test

For those who remain in the dark:
    1) Use the QR that @sysqoboy put in this topic. That's the one that makes the 1GB deal. The 1GB free is only visible after the activation of the eSim, when you browse to the custom account link that you get in a SMS.

    2) There is no voucher. Only step 1 is necessary for free 1GB.

    3) There is no registration requirement or credit card. With step 1, you will have a link for your new automatically created account.

    Cheers,

Huge thanks OP, I'm off Toronto in May this will certainly help if I know how to use it

I know my phone is supported. I know this sounds crazy but how can I scan a QR Code which is sent to me on my phone?? Would I not need a separate device? 😄
    h41d3r96's avatar
You can screenshot the QR code, then go onto Google lens or the qr code scanner and copy the link which you should be able to insert onto the esim settings on your phone (I did it this way before) hope this helps.

As an FYI, for anyone that has not used esims before (like myself) - and I'm not sure if this is for all Android phones, but I have a Honor Magic5 Pro, and using the inbuilt QR scanner or even a 3rd party scanner did not work - it could not connect/decrypt the QR code it was scanning and the URL did not display properly. The way I got it to work was to do this:

Settings -> Mobile Network -> Sim Management -> then click "Add eSIM".

When you do this, a different inbuilt QR code scanner starts up, and was able to connect to this offer.

    Hope that helps a bit.

Same for me. It is working now and there is 1gb of data so all good. Very timely and thanks to the op for posting this deal

This sounds pretty interesting. Once the 30 days is up, can you just top it up whenever you need it or do you need to pay into it regularly?
    sisqoboy's avatar
    Author
Only when you need it. Keep that in mind that usually a local sim will be cheaper. This is easier, tho.

This sounds a great deal but I can’t see on the website where it says 1GB free?

Check my screenshot in the post. You will see your account as well and the data balance on it.

Tried it - seems to work fine!

Travelling later in March, so probably will expire by then...
But I'll see if the deal is still on before leaving!
  9. tascheman's avatar
Thanks OP - got this up and working.

Any idea where I find what the phone number is?
    sisqoboy's avatar

Nice to hear that. Well it's all about data... Not sure , tbh.
  10. berry333's avatar
    How does this work?

Can I sign up and get the QR code and not scan it. Ie: not activate it.

Can I wait until I am ready to fly? (could be March / April?)
    Mikey186's avatar
I think the 30 days will start when you scan the QR code.

Going to Turkey later in the year and those prices seem pretty good, does anyone know of a better price than that? i.e. 5gb for $9
    danielwoolnough's avatar
Have a look at airalo - $9 for 10gb valid for 30 days
  16. sachaobado's avatar
I just tried to download it again and indeed it brings up an error message saying Can't Connect to Network indeed they log your EID so that you can't get this offer multiple times. Only option is to top up your current plan

IF you scan the QR code with your esim compatible mobile, that would include the data for your esim.

This great, thank you. I am a little uncertain so ... a quick question. When I get abroad do I go to Mobile Service > Mobile Data and select Travel (1Global)?
    sisqoboy's avatar
    Author
Not sure how you can activate the offer in the future. Right now if you activated you select the new sim card and under that settings you should be able to enable mobile data. Make sure roaming is on as well.

awesome deal even if is not free, great options while travelling not only in Europe8) (edited)

    Just wanted to thank OP.

I was a day into a USA trip last week and got completley stuck with no data set up on my plan with three. Car came with no sat nav.

This was so easy to use and setup and worked amazingly well, I used the free 1gig and paid for an extra gig too.

Cannot recommend highly enough, wish id knew about these esims before adding roaming options on my contract.
  27. x80ssm's avatar
Do we have anything similar available. Waited too long and mums flying tomorrow so wanted to sort her data out
  28. ZazZYo's avatar
How does this work? I can install the esim here in UK and start using it and it will be functional when i travel to any of the 148 destinations for upto 1GB?

OR do I install it when I am at my destintion?
    sisqoboy's avatar
    Author
Good question. Not sure when they will stop the promotion, but once you activated your sim you have 30 days to use the free data.
  29. Deal_searcher's avatar
I'm currently abroad, will this work? Also, does it require you to input any payment details?
    sisqoboy's avatar
    Author
Should work. No details at all. Enjoy!
  30. nazx's avatar
The link from the deal takes you to their generic eSIM which then will ask you to buy a plan… (edited)

  32. sydney871's avatar
Never used eSIM before so please bear with me.
Once I have scanned the QR code how long before I need to activate it?
Does the 30 days have to be continuous? Can I go to one country for a few days and then disable this and re-enable once I need it again?
If I am going to different countries will it work?
Is there an expiry date for this?
    Thanks
    Mikey186's avatar
Looks like the 30 days will start immediately.
I would guess you can enable and disable it. But the 30 days will still be running from the activation date.
It should work in all countries listed. I would not have it enabled in countries not listed, as some Esims get deactivated when this happens.

No code is needed. Once your sim is activated via the QR code you get the 1GB data and in the text message the link will take you to your balance.
