This motion sensor is for use with the Philips Hue range of wireless lighting

Add a motion sensor to your Philips Hue system for convenience, peace of mind and energy efficiency. It’s battery powered and completely wireless so you can site it anywhere in your home.

Easy to configure using the Hue app, once you’re connected to the Philips Hue Bridge (sold separately), it will turn on your lights when you enter a room. You can choose which light setting is triggered, and it will turn the lights off again once you have left the room and no motion is detected.

Using the app you can select which setting is most appropriate for the time of day (e.g. a gentle glow at night), and easily adjust the light sensitivity setting. Fully wireless, you can place the motion sensor anywhere in the home. Simply place it where desired, mount it using the screw included, or attach it magnetically to metal surfaces. Up to 50 lights and various accessories may be connected to the Philips Hue bridge.

Additional Information:

  • 2 x AAA batteries included
  • Battery lifetime - minimal 2 years
  • Software upgradable when connected to the Philips Hue bridge

If you have a Ring alarm you can get alarm motion sensors for £20 and use those as lights sensors too. I also have a routine so when I disarm the home alarm all the lights come on too.

How do you get the Ring sensors to talk to Hue pal?

I've got 5 of these round the house. Incredibly reliable. Lights come on when you enter a room and lights go out after a while if no motion detected, hopefully saving energy.

You just have to treat the initial purchase as an investment

Use these in the hallway and landings of my three storey house. Works well, you can adjust sensitivity and light brightness setting according to the time of day. Saved me a packet on the electricity bill, no more lights left on all evening. (edited)

Shame I had to remove all of mine and box them up and put in The cupboard as it does not obey the light sensor meaning my lights come on as soon as it detects motion even though the light sensor setting says in the app that at that light level lights will not come on but they still do.

Tried adjusting the light sensor and save the profile and works for the day only but the next day back to turning lights on through the day with daylight.

Worst thing I ever bought. And I have two that do the same thing. (edited)

You do release you have to set the behaviour in the app to do nothing between certain times. See img. If you are doing this then I apologies but i’ve never had any issue with them.52560408-rcWuo.jpg

    Crumbs, pricey stuff isn't it.

I use cheap Chinese stuff and a motion and luminance sensor is about £6 delivered!

Maybe Hue motions are better... :-) (edited)

I doubt it , numerous others do exactly the same as philips but way cheaper
