    Is the battery a rechargable unit (USB etc)? and any idea the capacity of its local storage, as I don't have a homebase unit, thanks

    A common complaint on these is that the volume on the ringer built into the camera is extremely loud and can annoy neighbors. I was after this model and contacted EUFY support to see if the outdoor ringer can be disabled so I can use an indoor chime instead. EUFY Support confirmed that this is NOT possible, and that using an internal chime would mean both would ring. Decided not to proceed with the purchase. (edited)

    While you can't turn it off on this one, you can reduce the volume. Hopefully that would do the trick.

    I've read nothing but good things about this doorbell, so it'd be a shame to write it off for something that can be added with an update.

    I keep reading that Eufy doorbells have such slow notifications that they are pointless. Does this model suffer from that problem ? Whats a better non subscription alternative ?

    They don't have slow notification, it is down to the WiFi setup. Mine is instant, I walk up to the door coming home and my phone buzzes in my pocket "Human alert - Front Door" as I approach, every time.

    So I know someone is there even before they press the button on the bell.

    Will this unit comes with the part you plug I to the mains and hold the memory card inside your house?

    Yes, you can power this on a normal doorbell transformer and it also has battery. I have the Vemer 30/24 transformer that Eufy recommend, if you don't have wired doorbell already you need to install the wiring and supply your own transformer. It's best to avoid the wallplug adapter ones.

    It does connect to the Homebase for separate storage of video inside the house, again this is a separate purchase. (edited)

    Ordered with chime through Costco as a fraction cheaper than Amazon @£149.98 for both, but still a good deal.
